d3 = anywhere from 30 minutes to hours, depending on act/zone, and how far you want to go. but generally, you need at least 30 minutes to make it worthwhile otherwise you're really wasting time
You know, I don't get this... People complained about the changes to drops like it's bad. "Have to grind for an hour" or whatever.

People were happy with ~15 minute butcher runs for example. After the change those same 15 minute runs were giving more loot (you'd hit several elites after 5 stacks). All the change did was reward you for going further after the boss meaning a 1 hour session will give a lot more loot than 4x15 minute ones.

And people complain.

I recently rewatched one of the initial reveal gameplay trailors that was played by Jay Wilson, the one that ended with the seigebreaker, wtf happened?

That trailor was sweet, even if they put it in the game in the same exact way it demo-ed it would be better than 90% of the game content. The seige breaker fight in comparision was crap. What happened to the death animations? They totatally shelfed them, you can't even do the one coded into that trailor. SB will only pick you up and slam you into the ground(I tried, a lot, never got my head bit off even when the move killed me)

All the talk about random events lead you to believe they would be epic. But there are so few and most of them are nearly pointless. Even the collapsing dungeon(which is sweet) can only spawn in one location.

Why take out the Enchanter(or w/e the 3rd crafter was called), but still leave her quest line in the game. Just lazy.

4 acts and 4 difficulty levels. That was enough content 10 years ago, but I expected more(yes they did add 1 difficulty level) How many people where calling for a "horde" mode and they decided not to do it because... People would only play that. Who cares as long as they're playing.

I mean I love the game and still play it, but I just expected a LOT more out of this game. It really is a D2 clone with a skill tree revamp and crafting. Not a bad thing, but definately not a step forward. O well at least the expansion is something to look forward to. SC2's 2 year anniversary is in a couple weeks and HotS has no release date so we can only assume D3 expan in 2020

the elemental resistances in d3 majorly pisses me off. in d2, there was a cap for resist and then there were skills or gear that could further increase those resistances. with some gear, such as a dwarf star and raven frost, you could even heal/absorb that damage.

Sorry to quote myself, but after I posted I thought I should throw some ideas at what I think they could've done instead of just complaining.

Horde mode, obviously, should have some sort of implementation. Be it as simple as a single room or map that just spawns more and more mobs per wave, or something more complex that adds buffs, environmental traps/attacks, friendly's, ect.

I would also like to see a random game outside of the campaign. Where everything is randomized: tileset, map layout, mobs, bosses. Maybe something where you fight through 4 random "levels" and then hit a boss.

Mix and match some bosses. Some would work together easy (Butcher and Azmodan) Mixing in Belial because he doesn't move, or Diablo because of the phases, would be difficult but not impossible.

Enchancing some of the events in game would make for a lot more fun. Think of a raise the catapults on a larger scale, or have the echantress close a portal while demons contantly pour through and try to stop it.

I don't see the harm in adding game modes just because not everyone will like them. Blizzard not releasing things because "they aren't perfect" went out the window anyway

It would help if they de-randomized loot a bit. Getting that nice bow with a bunch of int or that wizard hat with dex doesn't work. Even in wow they finally went through and adjusted some of the baseline drop stats to try and make most items possibly useful.

I like the idea of a wave arena sort of thing. It could provide more rewards for an increase in difficulty. Unfortunately, Patch 1.1 is going to bring (arena) PVP, which might really be hit or miss.

WOW, I thought the RNG only hated me.
I SWEAR its not random. I BELIEVE it is NOT random. NO FACTS but I get too many bows and cross bows that have CRAZY Int. numbers. AND, I SWEAR my DH picks up 50% Barbarian Belts and my Barbarian picks up 70% DH quivers.
My Barb has NEVER picked up a Barb belt.....

I have 3 60's, never gotten a legendary, or green drop, I get 2 (1 legendary ,1 green set ring) in A2 inferno, within 5 minutes of each other with ZERO magic find ... wtf, what is the point of magic find?!?!?!

In 8 Act 1 runs, i've never found a single crossbow or bow over 600 dps.

Yesterday I helped my buddy who just made 60 on his first play through of act 1...(both DH's) and he picks up a 1250 dps rare.

I almost quit the game right there.

yeah my barb gets a lot of DH weapons. witch is ok i have a DH but its only level 35. My DH gets witch doctor stuff.

its rather insane.

I wouldn't be surprised if its nerfed to where you have less of a chance to find items for the character you're playing. This results in driving people to use the AH/RMAH to sell which results in profits for Blizzard.

I also find very little use-able items. I have to sell drops for other characters to get money to buy items for my character.

The better your gear gets the less gear there is that will be better.

I've gotten a lot of decent barb and dh drops. Barb finishing up act4 normal now and its literally a face roll. When you have decent gear.

I was paid back though by only getting 3 chest out of about 2 dozen last night that contained something more valuable than just gold.

I haven't had too much an issue. As a Wizard I find a few barb, monk, wizard and DH items. However I cannot say in Inferno I have once found a Witch Doctor item.

Random is as random does.

That was pretty much Diablo 2 too, it made a good rare actually rare. It's what keeps some people playing, continually hunting for the perfect rares.

You know, I think they should have made Inferno a hidden difficulty so that you could only get to it if you quadruple clicked on the crow on the Main Menu after clearing Hell or something.

Then maybe people wouldn't feel so entitled to everything.

They've already stated that Inferno is not part of the standard progression and that it is suppose to be impossibly hard. Some people just don't want to accept it.

Stop quoting this BS. They may have stated this at one time as their intentions for inferno, but this is NOT the way it was implemented. The fact that you HAVE to play in inferno to get ilvl 63 items completely rules out somebody wanting to play the game in hell only. Not to mention, when the game was first released, you couldn't even get an ilvl item over 60 from hell. Inferno was intended as the difficulty level people would farm gear on at max level.

And if you don't want to play Inferno why do you need anything over 60 exactly? Hell you can probably beat Hell with straight level 50 gear.

Frankly, you don't even need them for inferno. You can beat inferno with all level 60 gear if it's got the right mods; probably less than that even.

If there is no Inferno and no ilvl 63 items, this game would be like old Diablo 2 where people just farmed Diablo on Hell difficulty over and over again for loot until the expansion came out. Then after the expansion, it was farming Baal over and over again on Hell difficulty.

You can do that right now in Diablo 3, farm Diablo on Hell difficulty over and over again without trouble with mediocre gear.

Inferno was intended to be a really hard challenge for people who wanted the challenge.
