Stop buying unids until this is patched. This was posted on Blizzard's forum about how to id an unid:

There are other ways to do this, to make this as easy as possible, follow these instructions exactly.

Getting the code:

1)Go to sell tab in AH
2)Hit enter to open a chat box
3)ALT+175(numpad)
4)Link unidentified item
5)Click to set cursor in the middle like so: »(HERE)[Archon Spaulders]
6)Tap DELETE key twice.
7)CTRL+A to select ALL
8)CTRL+C to copy ALL
9)CTRL+V to paste ANYWHERE.

Deciphering the code:

I think it's because he can't solo A3 either way... he used to be a more defensive build but still got 1-2 shotted, so he decided to go pure dps which has improved our times significantly since I'm usually the one tanking. Obviously some of them will peel off at times and go after him and he uses smoke screen or whatever but every now and again, he gets one shotted by trash mobs. I guess it's a different playstyle, most of his deaths were avoidable but he's sorta lazy in moving out of the way. I don't think he minds the dying much since he's been getting consisently richer since joining me in A3 runs. He had never broken a mil previously and now he's upgrading every other day when he can and is currently sitting pretty on about 20-30m.

Nat's set, 165 MF, 64k dps and 12k health. I run through Act 3 solo.

I absolutely loved my wizard until Inferno Act 1. Then the fast elite mobs came... and yea... no thanks. They were seriously killing me. Even the regular packs of those digger dudes in dungeons or outside - my wizard just can't take more than a few hits and can't run away fast enough either.

So back at my barbarian - found a nice ~800dps with a socket 1-hander, put in LoH gem for +300. 10.6k armor, 900-950 resists, 45k hp, 16k dps and I'm laughing at everything. Act 1 I just switch to DW (a nice 990 dps 1-h dropped for me too), switch the passives a bit and run around at 8000 armor and 22k dps, 900 resists. Act 2 I switch to the shield and can chop my way through almost everything without too much trouble (sure, I may die on a very unlucky elite pack combo).

Problem is now, the game started to be boring... Don't really feel like playing anymore (so I don't :awe. Oh well...

how much does tome of secrets sell for?

I sold off a horde of 500 tomes for something like 500k gold last week.

Took a while to get that many, but still pretty sweet. That's an equivalent of $1.25 in gold, so you have to be retarded to pay $.25 each on the RMAH.

So even after they patch the exploit, I bet the prices on un-ID'd l63 rares is going to go down some. Since we now know for sure that items are set on drop, not on ID, the likelihood that an item is special is depending on the MF gear the person was wearing when the item dropped.

If you are wearing awesome MF gear, you should probably ID yourself.

If you are wearing crap MF gear, you should get rid of the un-ID'd items.

So moral of the story is only the people with 5% MF bonus are going to be selling un-ID'd items now.

i have 219 MF when at 5 NV. I had been selling unid items as I prefer the gold over the small chance of a nice item. Guess those sales are over now until this is fixed.

It was already common knowledge that stats were rolled after drop and before ID

or maybe not common, but certainly confirmed.

Yeah so the effect is more from the wider knowledge, not necessarily that this adds anything new.

Are there any ATOT groups that run together? I'm pretty busy with work but it'd be fun to go with some people sometime.

I did'nt know it was based on your current MF gear though. I thought MF gear just dictates how many good items drop, not the actual quality of the lvl 63 item.

It doesn't have any direct effect on the quality of a given ilvl 63 item. For a given number of item drops of any kind (including whites and blues and etc.) it doesn't increase the quality of drops any more than expected (slightly less, actually). So +100% MF will result in something slightly less than +100% rares.

Rares are further subdivided into affix levels - 6 affixes, 5 affix, etc. MF affects the lower affixes less than the higher affixes. (EDIT: when I state this, I do not mean that MF is only 50% effective for a 3fix rare; rather that when you compare the total number of 3fix rares you find with 0% MF and 100% MF, you will find that you get less than 100% more 3fix rares per 1000 item drops) The end result is that MF is less effective at increasing the number of low affix rares that you get per given number of item drops.

That being said, for a given number of known rares, MF will have the apparent property of increasing the number of high affix rares with respect to that number of rares - that is, you will have a higher proportion of high affix rares. This sounds good on paper... but it's actually really meaningless. All it means is that you will find fewer low affix rares than you might otherwise expect.

I'm really confused.

In the recent guide update they said it increases you chance to get better items (in short, higher MF=more properties/item).

However, I pretty much always switch to MF gear before killing an elite, and it's very obvious MF=more rares. No MF=1-3 rares, MF=2-4.

and those rares have more properties than if it was just magic.

It does both - when an item drops, the game first rolls to see if it's a legendary (certain %). If the rolls fails, it rolls to see if it's a rare with 6 stats. If fails, then rare with 5 stats. If fails then rare with 4 stats and so on. If all rolls fail then it's a gray.

So with 100MF you double your chance on each roll - in the end you will see more rares and the chance of the rare having more stats is better. With 5 stacks of NV you are guaranteed a rare, but still, the higher your MF, the higher chance a roll for a rare with more stats is successful. So it's always good to have.

the unid item market has stopped because everyone knows that if someone is trying to sell an unid item is because they already checked that it sucks...

oh well..i was able to make 1 or 2 million selling unid items...

Blatant Photoshop possibility aside, why dupe crappy bows / why dupe a good bow and sell it for nothing? Suspect at best.

I'm very skeptical about that as well, if there is a working dupe, you'd see a ton of duped awesome items on the AH. Waiting to see more news on this.

You can dupe only items you obtain, if said item was the best item that the Duper had thats the best item he can create. He has to own the item first no?

Seems to make sense why you only see trash
