Farming every day for a couple hours and never finding anything worth selling gets frustrating pretty quick. I fill up inventory with 60+ rares twice a day and can't find anything worthwhile. I've been having dreams I'm finding legendaries the past few nights though, I think that means I've been playing too much >_>

Still waiting for that jackpot drop. 300+ hours and my highest selling item is 3m, with 2nd place being 900k. I have a good amount of MF too (around 220%), doing Act 3 inferno mostly. It be sad. Might try my hand at crafting some items because I'm not getting ANY good drops. Crafting is a big-time crapshoot risk though. If I were to try crafting some things, what should I do?

same experience here. at about 200mf + 5NV stacks + Plvl mf/gf, I do get a lot more rares during a run but .... all craps, and legendaries I got 3 in past 2 weeks none can be sold more than 100k all below 60s junks. With this type of drops and i'm at about 450hrs, I am totally running out of steam to play this game.

aRPG is all about drops, not about story or quests per say. This isn't WoW with a ton of content you can play thru, so the drops everything. Also the levels are less randomly made than D2s, making doing the runs like a job. It's painful. My only reason for logging in now is to check in and play w/ friends I don't even care about the loots no more.

and I can't sell 200k or below items no more? not too sure what happened there. So ah trading is no more, can't find nothing, there's less and less to do by the day.

@fustercluck, don't try crafting sunk about 2m on shoulders other day, got absolutely nothing, like the rares you get from runs, all junks, esp. when it's missing one of the biggies prim//vit//AR.

You seem blissfully unaware of the ludicrously low drop rates in D2.
Yeah I kinda agree. Granted, I have not played D2 in a couple years, but there was PLENTY of shit drops as far as I remember in that game. I don't find D3 that much different now that patch 1.04 is out. I do have to say that Set Items in D3 are more rare than in D2, but that's about it IMO.

I'm around 150 hours. I sold one thing for 2M, 2nd place is 400K, 3rd place is 100K. Not even joking.

The sword is decent - you should get atleast 1 Mil for it. DPS is too low and no open socket is keeping it from being 10 Mil+.

Weapons with those stats are a dime a dozen. I mean it is hard to get 190 str on a sword but I rather have an open socket and 200 more DPS than an extra 50 to my primary.

I cross checked the AH and 1-2 Million sounds right for the sword. LOH and DPS is holding it back from being more.

I'm about to have to sell the sword for 50k. I've had a couple auctions, didn't sell.

Set items are the most sparse in the game, but that is because they are the most powerful. In D2 they were in generally below Uniques and Runewords thus they were more common.

I think you guys just need to move from level to level more often, since the patch I found a weapon worth 4.5m in gold and a pair of legendary pants that sold for 25m. I've now accumulated about five or six weapons worth millions and just sold a 2 handed bow for around 3.5mil as well.

Magic find is useless, don't bother with it. It increase's the drop rate only and has no effect on how good or bad your drops will be. You end up filling your bags faster than your team (if you play with a team) and miss out on any drops you'd get killing elites with them while you're dickin around in down.

I was about to quit this game until one day in act II I found a weapon that pretty much let me decimate inferno acts 1 through 2. Joined some guy farming act III and the first run we did I found those magical pants that got me a nice little 25mil. Act III/IIII gets you the big money items as far as I can tell, I find a lot of Amulets that sell for 700-800k or multi-millions frequently so there's definitely ways to get rich quick. If anything focus on jewlery, good amulets/rings sell fast as hell and make you a bunch of money. In fact I don't even bother selling much of anything else unless it's resist gear, part of a set, legendary or has some insane stat/stat combo on it.

I need help now though, I've got about 10 million, 101k dps but my health is at 25k. If I play well and have a barb with war cry it's not a big deal as I kill stuff so fast they can't hit me anyway, but I'm having trouble figuring out what gear would get my health/resist up without killing my DPS.

Anyone have any gear suggestions? Here's my build, life after kill weapon forthcoming:

I log in a day or two a week to play and I've noticed from running with about 200% MF that I see drops with 5 affixes more often, but the rolls are still poor. I get stuff with 50 Primary stat, Attack speed %, socket, and 150 LoH and 600 dps frequently but hardly anything better.

I think BD231 might have the right idea, run A3/4 with full damage gear.

My records are $15 and $12 items, which is around 10-ish million gold depending on the daily price.

Most I've gotten from gold is probably 800k for a ring. I've been farming and selling gold since it's the only thing that sells reliably - items are random and may be worth a lot, but gold is guaranteed.

Did bliz stealth nerf loot? I've identified over 1000 lvl 63 rares and have not found anything of value greater than 10m. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to waste 5 secs to identify them one at a time. I've pretty much given up on picking up anything under ilvl62 just for that reason. Idenfitying shit is so fuckin stupid.

If you killed belial and didn't do the whole soulstone thing, I'm not sure it'd have saved that whole chapter. You'd probably have to physically zone into act 3 in order for it to finish that piece.

I'm not certain if there was a glitch or whatever, but I had to kill Belial 3 times before my game would save it and it drove me absolutely nuts. Here's what I did to get it to "save my progress". I'd killed Belial and go through all of the post-quest steps and got to Act III, started A3.1 up (by getting into the town area with merchants after talking to Tyrael on the roof and all that). I did that twice and neither time it saved. The third time, I ended up biting the bullet and progressing (solo at the time) through A3.3 and it finally saved.

Moral of the story? Join a public game if you want to progress. Solo progression is almost always slower, be it you play dps or tank.

I'm about to have to sell the sword for 50k. I've had a couple auctions, didn't sell.

Yup. I've decided it's because there's very little population left that's earlier in end-game progression and the majority now is looking for the top tier gear with ideal stats. So anything that doesn't have the absolute best stats or near best, won't sell. I've emptied my vault full of rares 55+ about 5 times that I know I would've used had someone been looking for them. The community has become highly pretentious.

I'll gladly buy an item that has the majority of what I want and 1 stat or goofy attribute. Luckily, those items usually sell for less, but lately, they're becoming rarer and rarer because of the lack in demand. That or, there's no buyout (since the price is too up in the air for most people to decide on) and I always end up losing the auction because I don't have time to watch each auction and would rather not spend more gold than necessary.

Farming every day for a couple hours and never finding anything worth selling gets frustrating pretty quick. I fill up inventory with 60+ rares twice a day and can't find anything worthwhile.

...

If I were to try crafting some things, what should I do?

Don't bother with blacksmithing for that. It's great for suiting up alts, and that's it. It's way too expensive to be gambling on a high level item.

yea crafting is a losing strat unless you have more gold than you know what to do with
the safest thing i've found to try and craft if you want to try a few times would be bracers and shoulders.

No point in stacking resist when all barbs use war cry in acts iii and iiii, 500-600 nets you a thousand +.

And Monks use Mantra of Regeneration - Time of Need. However, I wouldn't run A3/4 with less than 700 base resists, otherwise you'll be dying too often on most elite groups.

I'm at plvl 50 now, got some 2 badass items awhile ago.

Amulet:
115 Dex
13% Life
7% Crit
60% Crit Damage
45 Arcane Resistance (for arcane monks)

Natalya's Boots
179 Dex
79 Vit
265 Armor
75 All Resist
12% Movement Speed
6% Reduce from Melee

My battlegear is almost at 103k DPS unbuffed with 60k life, 800 All Resist, 600 Life Regen, 600 LOH, 10k Armor.

I still lack ice climbers, lacuni, and vile ward. Hope i win the bid when i get home.

Meh, I got suspended last night for suspicious auction house activities... I wonder how they figure that? I have been buying and selling from gold to real money and doing mostly the same item so no doubt they think I somehow figured out how to dupe. At least they didn't flat out ban me so I could open a ticket and tell them to audit my auction house transactions and see that they are full of it.

I thought I read something about how blizz doesn't want people to use the AH like it was a business (aka ebay). Were you doing a lot of buy low-sell higher transactions?

That's a great point you made; so many people have quit / stopped playing / aren't starting new characters/whatever, that at this point the only people playing are at high levels. Hence you see the stratification in the AH. No middle ground whatsoever, things sell for 100k, or 100M with no in between. Ugh.

Odd, seeing as how they made this game around the design of forcing 98% of users to use RMAH if they won't to progress...thus ensuring they(blizz) get their cut.

I swear to god, I've noticed that drops have started sucking since a week or so ago. I use to get 900 dps weapons like they were dime a dozen, and now it's a lot rarer. Most weapons are in the 7xx dps range.

And ya, identifying rares one at a time is retarded. Is it to discourage us from using mf or finding stuff?

no no, they don't want US using it like a business. It's only for them to make money on...

<shrug> If what I read was correct, they don't mind you buying and selling gear in general, but if you are like one of those people who only buy items to resell at a higher price and do so consistently, that's when they flag it as suspicious activity. They won't want you to run a business (stock market game) from their AH.

Again I could be entirely wrong on this.

No you are correct. Blizzard has a no flipping policy as far as the real money AH is concerned.

Yes, I was absolutely flipping items from the gold auction house to the RMAH. That's odd, you'd think it would be encouraged since they made money off every sale I did. Back in Eq1 I had made a fortune doing this and I do quite well in Eq2 as well, it's one of the things I like the most about these games. The advantage to D3 is I could make a few bucks- maybe in my ticket I shouldn't have basically said 'I didn't do anything illegal, I'm just a flipper!' haha, no doubt I will earn myself a ban

I don't understand the reasoning behind it either. I mean I doubt I would ever get to a point of just flipping items since that would take a lot of time investment probably, but I don't see how it would be bad for blizzard's business or bad for the AH/D3 economy. I'm sure there are reasons why it would hurt it...I just don't know of any at the moment.
