Sold my Vile Ward for 45 million buyout. I had it up for most of today for 35 million starting big, 65 buyout, but no bites, so I lowered it. Oh well, still quite a bit of money.
The last 6 legendaries i got was lvl 54-60.. shit lol. I wonder how long it will take for patch 1.05 to arrive, the game is soooooo dry.
Some of us can't even survive in A3. So basically, if I do A1 or A2, I get maybe 300K/hour. Currently to upgrade any one of my items so I can survive better in A3 I'd need to save about 30M. So in 100 hours or so of farming I could upgrade one item. Assuming nothing in those 100 hours is worthy of the AH, and honestly I've only found 5 or 6 items that have sold on there. I can't remember the last time anything dropped that had IAS, Crit %, Crit D, etc.
Tried playing the other night for the first time in about 3 weeks; bored to death of farming. Tried the third quest on A3 I think it was....spawned, got instagibbed by some elite, respawned, kited & killed one of the minions, get one hit again, all gear goes red. Go to repair, realize I'm out of gold. So I have no gear and no gold. Fuck you Blizzard. Fuck you eat shit.
How do you guys deal with getting high MF% and still doing good dps and having survivability?
I can't solo A3 inferno yet, so I run with PUGs. At my best, my dps is 50k. I know that having a high MF% doesn't give you a better chance at legendaries, but rather MF % gives you higher chance of rolling more/better affixes (correct me if I'm wrong on that).
A few days ago, I tried putting on as much MF% gear and to see if my drops would improve. I'm definitely getting more rares to drop, but my dps and survivability just completely suck now. I'm almost useless in the group.
So how does one have high MF% and still do high dps and live?
With MF% gear and 5 stacks (at PL15) I am at 299% MF.
With my best gear and 5 stacks (at PL15) I'm only at 170% MF.
Are you just farming act 1/2?
I run with max (375% MF) as a monk and do have some trouble with survivability, but, still worth it - I never do good DPS so that's not much of an issue anyways, I make up for poor DPS with +dmg buffs for the party. You can't solo with a lot of MF unless you have some really elite MF gear. You'll want to play in parties, preferably of 2 or 3 with people you are familiar with (public games can be UGHHHHH). Warcry will help a lot so I really like having a Barb in the party.
Don't know what character you are. Being a monk helps a lot with survivability. Main thing you want on your MF gear is resistances and decent vitality. Life on hit is the biggest key to survivability. If you want to buy some more MF gear and/or replace some of the stuff you're using now, should wait until about a week after the patch, since everything should be much more affordable.

Wow Jug, if you would need 30 mil to upgrade 1 piece of gear, you must have some decent gear on currently. Post your profile for us. There's gotta be something else wrong, if you can't solo act 3, currently.
It's Act 3: I finally started focusing on playing that. I've been leveling faster, and when legendaries drop, they're actually ilevel 61 and up. Before then, I kept to Act 1 and 2 because I was focusing on gold farming, and hated the fact that I died so much in Act 3. Looking at gold alone, I net 400k/hour in Act 1 and 100-200k/hour in Act 3, but add in a single good unique drop in Act 3 and I've made more than I made in a few months. If I remember right, I found 4 or 5 uniques in Act 1 and 2 runs in the past few weeks, and they all sold for less than 100k gold cause they sucked. Most were ilvl 61 or less.
I ignore MF and go all DPS since I run as a DH. Luckily, I'm paragon 30-something so my base MF plus NH puts me around 200 MF. There's no "real" survivability stat-wise as a wizard, DH , or witch doctor because I've seen that barbs/monks take 30% less damage as a class attribute. It's all about skills like shield and smoke screen to absorb damage. I'd like resists, but that would mess with my 95k dps.
I like to think that my high dps offsets the MF as I would kill things faster, and be able to kill more things in the same period of time. If I'm GF running in Act 1, I go with about 370 GF and 250 MF with only 40 dps, which works since monsters are so weak.

Yea i'm wondering what sort of upgrade he needs.

I'm on a cold streak, haven't gotten a legendary drop in over 12 full A3 clears over 3 days. 1.05 still not in sight. Have id'd thousands of rare drops since paragon 1 and have not found anything worth over 10m.
Starting to wonder if I should just pick up blues and vendor those instead since I don't have to id them.
I get on average about 1-3 items that I sell in the AH for 100k(85 after fees) per A3 clear. That's about it
