My issue with the game is that it was so broken for so long that the economy is so broken it is not repairable until they reset the ladder. Once they reset I'll try it again, but too many dupers/hackers/farmers ruined the entire economy already/item base already.

Only thing that really matters nowadays is the price of gold.. and they set the minimum at $0.25, which it's been at for weeks now (probably forever).

Found my first set item yesterday after playing semi-regularly since release; it was a decent Mamajuma's Carving Knife. Gave it to the wife, and it upped her damage by ~4.5k. I have no hope of ever being able to find an entire set.

Also found 4 or 5 plans, two of which were the new ones. They said they're using them to help out players who want to find/craft their own gear, but also as an item/gold sink. The problem is players who don't use the AH don't need a sink; the max gold I've ever had has been ~2 million, and I only have a handful of legendary items (only a few of which I'd be willing to salvage for parts). So, I've only got a couple shots at amulets for all my characters. Not really that helpful.

I've never used the AH to buy anything, I've only sold excess items, which hasn't added up to much. I figure that since the only ingredient that is going to be tough to obtain is the fiery brimstones, and it's only used in the ammys I'm just going to buy them rather than salvage my very few legendaries. They sell for about 18k right now, which isn't bad.

I'm really surprised that they increased the drop rate by so much. I went hundreds of hours finding only 3 plans before the patch, and now I find 2 or 3 an hour. I'm not complaining...it's great to finally be able to craft something usefull. It's funny to see how low the prices on the AH are for them though. I've seen some posted for less than vendor.

Man the economy has tanked. =( I found some dex trifecta gloves and the closest on the AH is like 7 mil. Guess I will just give these to my DH.

Same here, finally found some trifecta gloves, but they're worthless. On a good note, crfated a really nice ammy and finally a decent hf ring. My WD feels so diesel now.

I know the drop rate for plans for equipment and ammys has increased, but have the gem plans changed any? I've been getting tons of equipment plans, but still not a single gem upgrade design.

In the patch notes, they just specify "the drop rate for Blacksmithing Plans and Jeweler Designs has been increased by 400%." I wasn't sure if that included gem plans or not.

If you're curious how it looks like, just go to youtube and watch some videos. Otherwise, I assume you could just buy it online from amazon.

Gem plans are Jeweler Designs, so it should be a yes. If I remember right, they increased the drop rate with the previous patch, and I noticed a pretty big difference -- this increase also killed the cost of plans at the AH.

It just comes down to luck sometimes. You're better off buying gem plans. The lowest grade plan was less than 100k gold for all gem types the last I checked, and that was weeks ago. Must be dirt cheap by now.

I was thinking the same thing. How are you gonna be able to afford rolling ammy's if you can't afford upgrades from AH already, but here's the good news. I rolled a gg ammy, so I'm offloading my old stuff at discount prices. This should help the poor or new players quite a bit. So, really.. the ability to craft only helps those that have the gold and mats to craft, but it does reduce prices to many really nice items on AH. Like vile wards, trifecta gloves, all affordable on ah now.

The minions of Hell grow stronger.

We're excited to announce that Diablo III is being developed for the Sony PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. We'll also be adapting the award-winning action–role-playing game for Sony's newly announced platform: the PlayStation® 4!

Sit Down, Relax, and Kill Some Demons
Diablo III for the PS3™/PS4™ will be based on the core PC game and feature all the latest updates, including Paragon levels, the Infernal Machine event, Monster Power, Brawling, and more. This version is also being tailored with customized controls, a new user interface, and a dynamic camera perspective to provide an awesome Diablo III experience for PlayStation gamers.

Players will be able to wage war against the Burning Hells on their own in single-player games as well as team up and destroy countless demons with their fellow Nephalem in multiplayer games. For multiplayer, players will have the option to choose between four-player online (complete with matchmaking) and four-player local co-op modes for their couch-based warfare.

Follow the Falling Star to Boston, MA

The PS3 version of Diablo III will make its public debut at PAX East in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from March 22–24, and attendees of the convention will be some of the first to defend the world of Sanctuary via handheld controllers.

We call upon all heroes to join us at the official Blizzard booth, where you can enjoy some fast-paced hack-and-slash, participate in fun contests and giveaways, and learn more about the game. (Community managers will also be on-site, and they look forward to answering your questions and slaying some of Diablo's many malevolent minions with you.)

I wonder how it plays on consoles. I never played the PS1 Diablo, anyone know if it was any good? It got a 7.5 on IGN.

You just need 7 buttons really (2 mice, 4 attacks, 1 heal), so it should be fine on a game controller with 2 triggers and the 4 arrow pad thing.

And I feel dirty. Just blew about 50 million gold (everything I got from selling a 1300 dps Echoing Fury) on a Natalya's ring and boots. Got a nice 7% boost to crit chance.

The funny thing is that I was going to dump my Hellfire ring with just 32-59 dmg and 185 dex (other stats are meh with no crit or AS). However, I swapped my Hellfire with my Litany of Daunted (?) with 160-ish dex and 4.5% crit chanace and dmg only went down 300 dps or so. I'm surprised the 32-59 and 20 extra dex made up almost all the damage from 4.5% CC in my case .

With the announcement of console porting, I'm jumping ship to Path of Exile just in time it seems. I simply love the customization of playstyle and character development so much that I'm considering uninstalling D3. And I kept Aion installed for well over a year after I stopped playing it.

Anyone else trying PoE?

How do the modifiers work on the new crafting items? I made a pair of the gloves last night (str) and I ended up with over the max str (I think it rolled around 300 str), but it also had 5 other random modifiers.

I thought that the extra strength I received would be counted as 1 of the random modifiers, which should have only left me with 4 others?

If it were cross platform, it probably would have been big and in bold, so I'll go with a no on that one [for now].

Hmmm... will they be able to interact and play with pc players or even use the same AH?

highly doubt it, sony is not gonna let blizzard take down the servers for 12 hrs every tuesday from their player base unless there's an offline mode for the console.

i do hope they do mix as it would bring an influx of buyers to the AH for our gear

Was this spot on or what.

I disagree for the following reasons:

1. More players is not always better, fewer players means greater emphasis on each player's role in combat, support, utility, dps etc

2. If you played Sacred or Sacred 2 you will know that running around a large area trying find a needle in a haystack is often just a time sink to elongate the precieved length of the game. Diablo 3 takes a strictly no non sense approach to questing, which is liberating and satisfying.

3. If you want number crunching and stat point assignment, play Baulder's Gate. The combat gameplay was very number based in that game, and such things are more appropriate in that type of game. Diablo has always been more of an action game, number crunching was never neccessary, I elaborate more in 5.

4. This is the best one, I remember having a big skill bar but really only spamming 1 or 2 skills. In diablo 3, I will have 4 skills but would need to be using all of them all of the time. This is neccessary in Diablo 3 combat, use all the tools you have and use them wisely. The combat gameplay is Diablo 3 is unmatched by anything currently available, this isn't even an argument.

5. To further elaborate on point 3. If you want "complicated shit" play Baldur's Gate. I for one welcome not to have to bring up the games menus constantly to look at character details, inventory, maps, quest logs, skill trees. In Diablo 3 you are playing the game, not looking at UI.

6. I can't name my game? SHIT

7. You cannot fault a developer for following trends in gaming, if you have a problem with this you have a problem with the gaming industry in general.

8. Passive skills have been around since pen and paper, entire builds have been made centering on key passives.

9. I have no idea what this is refering to.

10. It doesn't actually

11. No it isn't

Wow, spending this much time responding to a 4chan post, what am I doing with my life.

I think they've upped the max on the main stat category for crafted archon items. I've rolled silly 300+ stats on many items. Just getting cc, cd on gloves or just cc on bracers and such is difficult. Shoulders are pretty easy to roll good stats on though.

At least crafting is back in the game though. I'm enjoying it. Been buying up tons of exquisite essences and tears lately. Prices on those are gonna start going up soon, I bet.
