The problem I see is the spreading the wealth that was going on. The guy I was watching (who claimed he got his trillons without using the exploit, I don't know I didn't see him get the gold) was buying anything off of the ah that was ridiculously priced (20 billion or higher) and I saw him doing that for a while. He was even losing some of the auctions, so he wasn't the only one doing this. So anyone that had high priced items on the AH made some serious gold yesterday, not just rich people, but people who decided to inflate the prices on their auctions while the duping was happening.
Also apparently one of the first admitted dupers was just giving away billions to people (again I'm sure he wasn't the only one doing this). So I hope Blizz has a way to detect that, because if all of this "charity" gold (and gold people unloaded because they thought it would save their account from being banned) stays in-game, eventually as it's spent it will slowly distribute itself and raise prices overall.
So I'm sure there are trillions that spread quick, enough to make a decent inflation IMO. I'm also sure there are a lot of rich people now, because even I made more money than I ever expected in this game. I normally have a hard time collecting 1 mill, and because of yesterday's gem prices I'm finally well into the millions. I feel bad for anyone that didn't get in on it, because some of these prices won't be going down again for a while.
I personally think they made a mistake by not rolling it back. Everyone in the game is already getting richer by the day, and yesterday just increased that by a decent percentage (well anyone that was working the AH yesterday that is).
