I've been playing again recently after months of break. The latest changes from the last big patch are fun so far I do appreciate the game again, although I'm playing in short-lasting sessions before I get bored too fast. So anyway I'm completely out of the loop as far as "item values" can be at the Gold AH and so I need some opinions.

I've found this amulet which I think is "worth something" but how much Gold exactly I guess would be difficult to determine (it's always ultimately a question of "how much one in need would pay for it" I guess). I'd appreciate some estimations nonetheless...

+28 Minimum Damage
+144 Vitality
+72 All Res
Critical Hit Damage Increased +62%
+36% Magic Find
Critical Hit Chance Increased +8.0%

Also, since I had some Gold from my previous months of play I decided to give a go to crafting with the Demonic Essence stuff (which for me is pretty much the only way I can upgrade at this point I guess). And I came up with a nice amulet and bracers, for my Barbarian that is, they are as follows:

Amulet
+205 Strength
+112 Dexterity
+165 Intelligence
Each Hit Adds +942 Life
Critical Hit Damage Increased +62%
Critical Hit Chance Increased +10%

Bracer
+217 Strength
+128 Dexterity
+80 Vitality
+75 All Res
Critical Hit Chance Increase +6%
Health Globes & Potions Grant +7471 Life

Not bad crafts huh? I wish they'd show up orange like the crafted items in DII hehe. It's too bad they're bound, otherwise I might have tried to sell them both as well. Also, why is Demonic Essence account bound? They fear it'd become the new currency if left unchecked huh? I think it'd be the new SoJ of DIII, but I also think it has more value than mere Gold or actual items-for-items trading between players. I actually wish we could trade Demonic Essence. I just know that if I keep playing I'll just keep accumulating them in stacks of x100 for God knows how long before I get bored (that shouldn't take too long though).

How many players end-up with 100, 200, 300+ of those things in their stash now? I'm not convinced that the crafting system is that convincing to throw so much Gold and Demonic Essences left and right, it's not as... "addictive" as crafting was back in D2 (I don't even want to try to remember how many days and unspeakable amount of Gold, Runes and SoJ's I spent trying to make the best Vampirebone Blood Crafted Gloves).

I don't see the amulet you found selling for much. Most people are looking for crit, crit damage, and attack speed at the least. Then a high main stat and average damage.

Those bracers are pretty good. It is a pitty they didn't roll Str + vit instead of Dex + vit though. =(
I go through a ton of demonics, I don't really worry about them piling up. I have made probably around 1000 pairs of gloves looking for that perfect pair. =(

Yeah you won't sell the amulet for much. Look at your crafted one in comparison. It's at least equal, if not better than the one you found. Everyone can craft something that good in ~20-30 tries, so you're looking at 2-3M gold for the amulet.

The best you can do on crafted bracers is high primary stat + vit + allres + 6% cc. You're most of the way there.

I burn all my demonic essences almost daily, I'd buy more if I could. A few of my friends have a few hundred of them sitting around but I guess don't have the gold to craft them all lol, I'd take them off their hands for quite a bit of gold if it was possible

Any tips for someone at level 54 (hell) looking to start making gold?

I can make about 1M a day crafting radiant star gems and selling them. I have ~40M total. Which means I can craft two of those a day, and sell them both for ~1M profit.

I feel like answers are going to be in the "get to level 60 and inferno difficulty" range first, though. Just wondering if there's something else I can be doing to start gathering gold at this point.

You could start looking for items to flip, but other than that, it is going to be rather hard to get gold.

I kind of figured, but I thought it was worth asking to see if there were any tricks pre-inferno. Thanks for the reply.

2 mil a day is pretty good for no work involved. most people won't get that much farming for a few hours a night. random rolls = sucks

I had a pair of Zuni legacy boots in my stash with 130 Dex and over 80 Vit. They finally sold for 1B. I started at 2B and went down from there. 850 million after the AH tax isn't bad.

I wish I had a bounty of DE laying around. I collect about 30-40 then do a crafting session hoping for a better set of gloves. It took me around 400 tries for my trifecta amulet, 150 tries for my shoulders which have dex, vit, life, lightning (I'm stacking poison, so meh!), AR, pickup radius; and I'm on about 350 tries for these gloves. For the life of me I still can't get IAS with decent stats comparable to what I have. I think Blizzard's RNG is trolling me. >.>

Oh, btw: DING PL100!

I can finally not bother with a ruby in the helm, yay!

I have probably done around 100 gloves. Sadly, mine are already extremely good, so I need pretty much perfect trifecta roll, along with high AR. I have yet to achieve that. =(

Congrats on 100!

I'm almost at 86 now. Still a long way to go

I hit 85 on the barb last night. Sniped some Depth Diggers because I was tired of the crappy looking pants I had before. I wish Immortal King's Pants didn't have abysmal stats. =(

I don't know if there is a way to do it, but perhaps someone discovered a setting I missed.

When you're in a game open to the public and someone joins, your follower goes back to town. However, when this happens, a pop-up box appears to let you know this. Is there any way to turn that pop-up box off? I think after 200+ hours, I get the point that followers will not stay with you in multiplayer games.

Man, I just watched some of those comparison videos showing a monk vs a DH doing COTA runs with similar gear and a higher DPS on the DH. The monk just owns. 2-3M crits vs the DH at 800k.

DH is in need of a serious buff.

Nope, it does that every single time and there isn't a setting for it.

Buff whaaaat? You mean nerf everything else right? Because that is how D3 players think. "Oh, another class is better than me, nerf them so we all do the same low crappy damage."

I think the thread was saying the opposite. I mean, they could add 2 more MP levels and give the DHs a buff, which would essentially be the same as nerfing everyone but the DHs and keeping MP10 as the max. There's the XP and GF/MF bonuses that everyone would get though.

Heh, I am just used to the "OMG <my class> sucks, nerf barbs because they are so much better!" I swear, people get so offended when their class isn't the best and feel as though other classes should be punished rather than just a simple buff be made.

They can't continue to just buff other classes because then every class is too powerful for the monsters, then they have to buff the monsters. It is normally easier to nerf a class that can do too much than buff all the classes that can't.

Barbs are clearly too strong, they farm so fast due to their run speed, they don't get ccd with Wotb. One class dominating has been an issue in Diablo forever, hammerdins were strong for years before receiving a nerf. What else do you expect from blizzard, they have your money and don't care anymore except to get people on ps3 to buy the game.

I'm done with these companies, EA is crap, blizzard horrible. maxis horrible. I'm sticking with league of legends, a f2p game that has more support than any other paid game out there. I'll support the companies that actually care about their community.

Because the LoL model is one I want. "Hey, you can play for free, but unless you play 100 matches, you won't unlock all the skills and unless you give us $1000 dollars or play 10,000 matches, you don't get all the content." No thanks.

And barbs don't need a nerf. Without WoTB up, they are weaker than every other class. Monk's have run speed and a CC immunity every 20 seconds and a CC of their own every 20 as well. Barbs don't get that luxury. Without WOTB and constant mobs to fight, they don't do much. The "omg barbs farm faster than <my class>" is an awful argument and people just wanting the game handed to them. Buff any other class to OP status (*cough* WD *cough*) and eventually people will change the bitching to them instead.

And yes, they should buff monsters or add more MP before nerfing classes for "being too strong"... This isn't a game that is meant to be challenging to beat. Blizzard made that perfectly clear when they nerfed Inferno the first time. "Oh, it is too hard for you fresh 60s wearing level 45 gear? Here, we will make it easier!" This is a game about killing as fast as you can to get loot. And Blizzard has already shown to make it easier for that as well. "Oh, legendaries are too hard to get? Here, have 3-4 a run!"

Hey now, WD's aren't OP. We just gear enough to survive a few hits and sit there with our fire blender! Though CoB does do a surprising amount of damage compared to previous flavor of the month WD damage spells.
