So, with expansion announced I decided to goof around on my wizard some more. Realized I left my character weak that sucked.

Luckily a friend of mine purchased a few hours prior to it 2 BILLION gold. (Insane I know)

And pimped out my Wizard into a CM/WW wizard with 140k dps, 60% crit, 2.7 attack speed, 650+ all resistances, 6k armor.

Going around and literally face-rolling mobs, is quite entertaining.

your DPS seems low for those stats

i run 52% crit and 2.55 attack speed and sit at ~180k sheet DPS, similar rez range and 1200 or so LOH

I am liking what I hear from the expansion so far. I am debating selling some gear, but I don't think anyone wants to spend billions on my gear with an expansion looming. =(

Oh well, I think I am going to go back to playing my monk. CM wiz is boring and I am rather tired of Barb.

Well with no time table on the expansion still (while holiday 2013 is possible I think it won't be until 2014) I don't think it's really affecting people [yet]. I haven't played in a while and expect the level cap increase and new legendaries/higher level rares to pretty much 'outgun' current gear quite handily so I may as well make something out of it.

While I'd imagine the new gear will be better, those that are geared will be getting to that content much faster. It might end up like in WoW expansions (at least when BC was released), where you find greens much better than your purples.

last night i dusted off my wizard, spent about 3.5m on gear and converted to cm ww, pretty low on dps and health but decent resistance, around 160% crit damage and 45ish crit chance, attack speed still a bit low at 2.12 but i never even finished inferno, got done with act 3 last night with no difficulty and tonight i will tackle act 4

i did something similar with my monk. purchased some stuff on the AH 2-3 mill started inferno again
found that it was too easy so now im running through it on MP5 and its somewhat of a challange

I went on a shopping spree with the few gold I had left and sit around 80k dps unbuffed but am doing archon sooo that seems quite low but I am quite tanky I think. Now I just need to clear inferno lol

All my opinion of course--not tryin to bash anyone who feels otherwise--but add me to the list of those disapointed with the amount of content they're releasing in the expansion. The biggest reason for me is that there's only 1 new class. And even though they may have created a solid new class, they just happened to pick the 'sword-and-board-heavy-armor-tank' type class, which is my least favorite type of character in any RPGish game ever made. Uh...the exception being the paladin in D2, because the most common build ended up being an extremely durable, mobile, and heavy hitting mage. So, while it's possible the crusader's abilities and playstyle could end up surprising me, the perception for me is bleh.

The content that will also be patched into the original D3 prior to the expansion's release is a so-so announcement. On the one hand, they could have required that everyone buy the expansion to get all those updates, so why complain about it? But on the other hand, those updates are intended to breath some life into a game that many people grew bored with very quickly. When 1/2 the features announced with the expansion deal with fixes they've told us were already coming for the original base game, that also adds to the....lack...of excitement.

Agreed you shouldn't have to pay money for updates that were needed for a long time for an already existing game that isn't P2P. It's a low blow, but you know Blizzard can get away with it. They'll still make a killing.

I played a bit today and soloed up to diablo no prob with archon, must be the gear. Ill help ya lvl tho, can always use more money

yea once you get over 60k or so DPS inferno is pretty easy on the default setting

i got the barb to 60 and got him some items. and this is just stupid, spend maybe 2 gold and he does 100k DPS and can just WW MP10 white mobs to death, needs more HP and some more rez but its comical

White mobs aren't the problem on mp10, it is the health of yellow mobs. Blue mobs are not that bad for me. My Barb pieces them quickly.

I carried three people with average gear on mp10 farm runs. I dinged 85 but it gets boring by myself. Add me if you want to do some Paragon exp leveling in act 1 or 2, Adrenaline#1529. I do NOT skip over mobs to get stacks, I like to kill everything to find items. I found five legendaries in ten minutes the other day and two were set pieces.

I love Act 2 now.

I have thought about cutting back on resists to up my dps but with rubber banding leading to some deaths, the EHP I have is nice.

and yea i did some blues and yellows last night, depending on the afixs i can kill them it just sometimes takes forever. i know i need more EHP on the barb i just dont know where to go and get it

Oh, how I don't envy those that have multiple characters leveled up through PLs. I hope they compensate or at least take that into consideration when they apply that experience earned to the account come time for the expansion. >.<

What is in your "archon" build.

I find CM/WW superior to it with the right gear. Able to aoe down 50+ mobs at once by spamming freeze, diamond armor and attacks, is very enjoyable.

I play on MP6 and am working my way through all the acts just for kicks and giggles before I find a spot to farm.

Well it's theoretically 'infinite' paragon levelling, so I'd imagine they'll probably just add it all together essentially. Though five paragon 100 characters may only come out to paragon 110 or something; if the scaling from 1-100 continues past 100, the XP requirements are going to get pretty obscene.

Cmww is fun but also incredibly boring. Also mashing all those buttons makes my hand hurt
I can do mp10 on mine with ease
