Don't understand that comment about legendaries. I had none before and the couple I've gotten since the patch have all been equipped as useful upgrades.

They are no longer unique it seems. I've found quite a few now, and they don't have the same unique properties they had before and just roll random stats. Take the Mempo of Twilight, it used to roll main stat, AR, attack speed, socket and a random roll (which you wanted crit). Now, it rolls anything (except attack speed, because that isn't a helm slot roll). It is now just a rare helmet with a unique skin and a higher ceiling for stats. That appeal of legendaries was they could roll affixes that weren't able to be rolled, and that is what made them great. Lacuni Prowlers now no longer have move speed and attack speed. They are just bracers... They've removed the uniqueness of legendaries.

I just can't wait to try the Crusader. I've been thinking about trying a Barb 1H+Shield but didn't do it yet...maybe I should.

I only have a Barb at 60 so far and a Wiz at like 17...shame on me for not playing enough. Maybe i'll start a new game and try a Witch Doctor, look interesting to play...or try a Barb tank lol...

They haven't removed the uniqueness of legendaries. They shifted the uniqueness around. Legendaries as a whole are more unique than before, because they've added NEW effects to items. Instead of a legendary being just a specific collection of rolls + some random rolls, many of them now have truly unique abilities that can't be found on other items. I wish Blizz would update their database on the play guide so we could browse through them all.

That being said, it's sad to see changes like those you mentioned...Mempo and Lacuni Prowlers. Even the Sunkeeper I mentioned before that no longer has magic find, and I'm sure there's others...they took away what used to be interesting about certain items and didn't give them a new identity. When items at launch were so dull, why mess up the few that were interesting to begin with? It seems like they had some new master-plan of game balance, which we all know is just Blizzard shuffling things around to create some new set of imbalances.

Ok, some of the previous legendary item names arenkt unique like they were, but I'm more then happy to lose that for more legendaries of which they are still better to use than non-legendaries.

I am playing since patch, and here is something interesting:

With the exception of Skeleton King after resetting my quests, this was the ONLY boss which actually dropped legs.

I don't think that any other boss OR ANY OTHER ELITE PACK did EVER drop anything of value. The good drops, legs and sets all came from random crap, barrels etc. and special events.

Which effectively means that fighting elite packs AND bosses has become totally worthless, in fact it's only a waste of time and nuisance....which makes the entire game ABSURD.

It's the "I hope some effing barrel drops a legendary while I AVOID (!) all bosses and elite packs"-Game! Because you KNOW that every boss or elite pack won't drop you ANYTHING worthwhile,at least at my gear level!

When difficult fights (bosses, packs) don't get rewarded whatsoever you should ask yourself WHY you actually play this. I do this right now. And I honestly don't know why I am fighting packs or bosses. For 3 or 4 shitty yellows? While some legendary may be hidden in a barrel the room next over.

ABSURD.

LOL @ you playing D3 like my dog. My dog found a salmon steak in the garbage can ONCE and has lived his entire life camped next to the trash can thinking it's a salmon steak vending machine.

You probably happened to get ONE legendary from a barrel and now you play D3 obsessively breaking every barrel in the game.

Lol couldn't have said it better!

People expect to get everything thrown up in their mouth like baby birds and can't adapt to changes. It's a freaking game and it's evolving, find a way to get the payoff, cause there's one and another.

Login, sit back, take a sip from your favorite beverage and enjoy the ride. Sometimes there's more than loot in the experience.

Nonsense.

There is nothing around the fact that more legs drop from barrels or trash or goblins than from bosses or elite packs.

Go collect 20 or so legs and then see how many came actually from tougher bosses or elites. And then it's legit to wonder what actually the point of fighting elites or bosses is, respective what actually the point of the entire game (aka killing elites/bosses as being the main goal) is.

It's my understanding that even in Torment there are simply the overall odds increased that legs drop (as is the description for the difficulty sliders)..but legs CAN (in theory) drop from anything...they CAN drop from a barrel, goblin or if you're lucky YES they can also, occasionally, drop from a boss or a pack.

But this is an absurd system because it means that RNG and a "general likelihood" that legs are dropping from whatever have preference over going for/fighting hard mobs....while in pretty much any other game you're rewarded by your effort..eg. you KNOW that a certain, tough fight MIGHT yield a good item...here it's all RNG and some even is on a timer (eg. the 90mins alleged leg drop timer). It doesn't make any effing sense WHATSOEVER.

I think I've found a good farm route (simply running Cathedral 4 over and over). If anyone wants to do T4 or so, let me know. I found a decent Frozen Orb build. Thankfully, all that APOC still works and my Chondos Force had increased crit change of Frozen Orb!!

Just add me ewok#1399

Indeed, your wizz is pretty bad ass!

The reality is each mob has a chance of dropping a legendary. Bosses and elites have a higher chance than regular mobs, which have a higher chance than chests / pots / etc. However, you kill an overwhelmingly greater amount of white mobs than anything else. I'm sure if you actually tallied the numbers, bosses and elites give better look, however, killing them takes a lot longer than killing 20-30 white mobs.

The best legendary runs were either tons of white mobs, or quick elite (CoTA, for example). I am sure that remains the same in RoS. There is also no timer. I've gotten multiple legendaries in a single run, and gone a for hours without one, and this was in MP10 farming the most dense areas.

I actually been looking for different runs. I think CotA is still probably the best for legendary farming, but overall XP/min without cursed chest farming is either Mira or cages. I think the best mob density is the aqueducts, but only when you get skeletons. The others aren't as good. I am still experimenting some. Keep Depths 2 is pretty good when you're elite skipping as well.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I find that if I group 4-5 regular mobs and kill them all with 1-2 seconds, my odds for a leg are higher than if I just killed each mob by itself. Has anyone had a similar experience.

I'm having fun rebuilding my DH whenever I find a new legendary that looks decent. I just swapped out my nat's reflection ring (giving up the 7% CC bonus) and took a hit to my DPS (from 290 down to 260 I think) so I could use a new ring with 450 vit and a massive life per second buff. It pretty much doubled my toughness, and with all the changes to the skills, it works out pretty well.

I've definitely enjoyed rebalancing toons more with new gear. Finally found enough dex gear for my monk and DH on T2 and T3, shared a bunch of gear before.

I kinda don't love that pretty much 95% of drops are tailored to the class that you're playing though. Makes getting WD, barb, and wiz gear tougher.

You fix your lag issues?

I haven't replaced a single piece of my gear due to the loss in DPS that it'll incur or the massive loss in attack speed. Gaining survivability isn't necessary for me, because I have such a high attack speed, that is my survivability with LPSS; it's how I like playing my character: actively.

So far, I've seen a lot of this ridiculous notion of affixation on rares and crafted items for: 1-2 pick-up radius, 50-90 bonus exp per monster kill (what the fock kinda crap is that?), health globes, and 100-300 life on hit. Then a decrease by 50% to: LPSS, ASI, CC, CD, et. al of the good stuff. Uniques are a different story and have much different ranges, but for the most part, still can roll stupid stats [inherently] that no one wants.

Well, at least they made the game easy to exp. /rollseyes

Which is why they have the enchanter in RoS to fix those crappy stats. And get used to Life on Hit, life leech aint around no more.

Yup, which is why they held off releasing any patches until now, so they could get people hooked and required to buy the expansion.

And believe me, I know. I used to have 500 LoH. Now it's about 1500. Feels just like <100k DPS days, all over again.

There isn't a max PL. There's a maximum for other bonuses, but after 800 you'll only gain in core bonuses [indefinitely].

Played some more yesterday and got The Barber (again...) and Thundergod's Vigor:

And with some new items I got from 62K DPS/66K HP/620K Toughness to 56K DPS/99K HP/857K Toughness. A bit less DPS but I can feel i'm harder to kill and can sustain a lot more damage before having to storm out of the fray. I'm loving my Barb so far at level 60(24).
