It worked on any difficulty when it was dropping from Skeleton King, I assume the same now that it drops from Diablo, as they didn't indicate otherwise.

It really doesn't make a difference where it drops though. The guaranteed drop only happens if you 'Reset Quests'. You can only do that if you've completed every quest in the game (including every mini-step in every quest). So you have to literally complete the entire game start to finish regardless of whether the Legendary drops from SK or Diablo.

So, I can't reset and join a game at Diablo to get the drop then? That makes it a bit annoying.

I suppose you could one time, if you have a friend who can invite you (your quest list resets also, so you can't search for a random public game at Diablo). But you only get the guaranteed legendary once each time you reset quests, so after getting your free legendary, you still have to run through the whole campaign before you can hit the reset quest button again.

After doing a campaign run on normal last night, does anyone else notice that pools of reflection spawn more in normal?

I'm not sure if it spawn more or not, but it doesn't really make any different, no one farm in normal. Are you farming whites or something?

Drop quality is the same on all difficulties. Blizzard says that T1-T6 boosts the drop rate of legendaries, but either it isn't working or the increased drop rate is so minimal that its essentially unnoticeable. There's countless posts on the D3 forums about it. My personal experience indicates the same as well. In either case, the faster killing speed on lower difficulties easily makes up for whatever boost you get in drop rates on the higher difficulties. That said, its probably most efficient to farm the highest difficulty you can do with ease, just in case there is a higher chance of legendaries, and for the paragon levels if nothing else.

Besides, whats wrong with farming whites? I'm always in need of more common debris

Also, on a normal playthrough, I got 3 legendaries, including the Diablo reset one. That isn't awful, as it is about 1 an hour, but it isn't great or anywhere near pre 2.0 patch levels. I was getting 3 or 4 a run on 10 before.

Fired it up yesterday after many months of not playing... I feel lost. This is like a new game for me.

I must not be understanding the math, but you got 3 and are complaining cause you used to get 3-4 that had a much higher chance of being mediocre?

I wouldn't be surprised if people with high paragon levels may have had higher legendary drop rates pre-patch because of MF than post-patch. While I had a really good maybe 1-2 hour span on my Wiz last night while levelling and found like 4-5 pretty quickly, overall I think they probably work out to about a legendary every hour or two.

Not complaining at all. In fact, I would much rather the legendary drop rate be lower.


Also, a blue post confirmed there will be a timed legendary drop IIRC. If, after that amount of time, you haven't gotten a legendary drop, you will get one. I think they were still messing with the timer.

Personally, I think it should go by monster count, not time. Say, for every 5000 normal mobs you kill (elites count for 3 normal mobs), you are going to get a drop.

That sounds similar to the wow lfr raid loot system so not surprised if they have that implemented in some form here.

I decided to start playing again too, I liked the game a lot when it first came out but felt like I had to rely on the AH too much to get better gear. I was trying to do Act 3 master on my 58 barbarian but any challenging mobs that came up were wiping me pretty easily so I'll probably drop a level or maybe go back to Act 1. In the short time I played though I got a few better items than what I was using so that was nice to see.

I wasn't initially going to, but with how gold spiked, I was able to offload 500 million into my bnet account and get it for free. I almost wish I hadn't sold the 15 billion I did months ago now.

I haven't made up my mind if I'm getting RoS or not. Likely not. Classes are kicking my ass and I almost fucked up a grade for getting too into D3 in a few days. I have the game uninstalled for now. I didn't mind stopping because all I really wanted to do was farm for legs but I didn't want to put the time in since the level cap is increasing soon.

It'll give time for Blizzard to make a few more legendary item/skill changes. Let me know how it is, have fun guys.

Me! I'm not going to play Crusader though, it sucks IMO. I played at least 50 hours on him in the BETA and he is wayyyy to slow! I wish Blizz given us the Necromancer instead ~ finger cross for the next expansion!

I bought the Hallowed pattern yesterday. I crafted over 120 fist weapons for my Monk. Not a single one rolled Dexterity, good Life on Hit and a socket. I am using one that has high Vitality instead of Dexterity.

I rolled a bunch with Dexterity, a socket and life after kill. Life after kill is so useless.

I was surfing the AH yesterday and got a Skorn with about 1350 damage, 299 strength and 1800+ LoH for 25 million. I flipped it for 238 million (sold for 280 million minus the 15%).

I'm glad you said something about the Hallowed Defenders recipe. I was told by a friend that I should get it (instead of the socketed and top-tiered Fist of Azturasq and socketed and top-tiered Echoing Fury with life steal). They also told me the biggest upgrade right now will be to craft some bracers (instead of upper tier Lacuni's I have on). While I value their input, it doesn't coincide with how I like to play (focusing on fast attacks and lots of active abilities on my monk).

From the 500 or so crafted items I've made after the changes, I haven't seen much upgrading. I've noticed a typical set scheme that follows with the "random properties", and it's not very random. Trifecta rolls can't possibly exist any more, for one. You can't really roll all of the useful stats that you actually want and are forced to have a secondary stat: health globes, pickup radius, a single resist, bonus experience, bonus gold, or damage to attackers. I've seen more loss in DPS, and massive gains in Toughness (primarily hits, and bloated Toughness from having All Resist instead of a single Resist because Toughness doesn't know how to calculate for One With Everything). Also, DPS never did, and still doesn't, know how to calculate for set bonuses lost in comparing items. I have managed to equip new shoulders, gloves, and chest piece (sadly had to remove my Tal Rasha's and lose some of my beloved attack speed).

I really don't want to be forced to have high hit points, and play with a giant buffer and lower DPS. I focus on having higher armor and resists and lower hits and balance the minimum amount of hits that are required to survive any fights. Managing my survivability has become second nature to me (one that I actually enjoy), and I feel like Blizzard assumes I can't figure it out for myself.

Damn, you had enough whites to make that many? Farming whites is annoying. They need to make it so that mobs drop more of them.

I just found the Hallowed Pattern last night but almost anything genuinely good that I find that's sellable... I'm still selling. I haven't found any rare items really worth much of anything but a number of Exalted Grand X and JC patterns are worth a few hundred thousand or even a few million which I've moved. I'd rather have the gold going forward and will probably just offload whatever I consider 'excess' before the 18th.
