WD most fun class in Diablo 3 hands down.

+1 on that. I started D3 playing WD, and he was considered the worst class back then. However, the issue was that no one really knew how to play the WD back then. They utilized him as if he were a DH and stacking ias for paper dps increase, trying to kite and spit darts at enemies. The real power in the wd are his mana attacks. Zombie charger or firebats. These skillz do serious damage, and they always have. If you haven't done so, I would recommend setting offense to max mana and utility to max reduced resource cost. I don't even have to use rain dance on my voo doo anymore. Then again, I've always had (for the longest time) a searpant with reduced cost to bears.

Right now, I'm playing the DH mostly to try to get that kindershot. There's some really interesting quivers for her to. I found one that makes bola shot explode on instantly, and one with piercing increases for hungering arrow. The items are definitely interesting now.

Yea I keep hearing how fun the witch doctor is. I may try the WD as well. Started the game last week and got my Wizard to 60 on Friday, now he's paragon 8. Loving the class and trying the different cool builds. I think I may roll a WD though and get him to 60 before the expansion launches.

Lower right corner of the game screen there's a icon for the community. There you can make a search for clans and communities. join both!

Shift O opens the community screen. Search for Anandtech. You can then join the clan or the community chat.

Quick question...my wizard recently got to 60, paragon level 7 (going slowly because I'm leveling by barb right now - what a blast once you get to ~20 and have some nice skills to play with).
My wizard plays on Hard for the extra gold\xp, he has around 60K dps and does ok. I don't think he's ready for higher difficulties.
Anyway, does the difficulty affect anything other than gold and xp? Any special legendaries available? more rares?

I cannot find a nice site like diabloii.net of old for good info

The ratio of legs coming from chests/vessels vs Elites is pretty silly right now. I think they need to fix that. And goblins, don't even wanna go there, they don't drop jack. I can't complain too much. Did find some new zunni boots while playing as a DH yesterday.

I've certainly found some legendaries from breakables but I think most have been from elites/champs, pretty sure I've gotten one from a goblin too. I actually feel like trash farming is now is much less lucrative in terms of loot, seems like they never drop much of anything. It's hard to really tell without personally keeping track though.

WD is probably my least favorite. Having a lot of fun with my monk though, Cyclone Strike and Exploding Palm are made for each other.

When does the Witch Doctor get fun? I got mine up to 14 yesterday, but it felt kind of boring and slow compared to my wizard at the same levels. It seemed to take forever to kill rare and unique mobs. Pretty much just hit firebats for a very short bit until he complained about mana, then poison dart, then back to firebats. Do I just need to wait for some more skills?

Haven't seen anything really other than gold from goblins lately.

Seen virtually nothing from breakable objects, so do even bother opening any more.


Been playing my WD lately, not really liking any of the signature spells. Being able to have pets and some of the other ones are good, but unless I can find one usefull, more likely to just stop playing for a moment to regain mana than use a signature.

It's pretty fun to see a big 500K yellow number pop up when my Barb drops a full Fury boulder that crits. That's after only a couple hours of Hard/Expert play and picking up a new set of items to replace my old-D3 stuff. Just hit 60 with him and now can start this Paragon stuff.

Still unsure on if I'm going to buy RoS.

At low level it is a bit slow but Fire Bats man! Great spell and coupled with the Vampire Bats rune they don't cost any mana when channeling! Plus had Haunt with the rune Consuming Spirit is awesome too. I sometimes use the infected zombie that runs straight and explode for AoE for some laughs and dps

Hmmm maybe I'll have to play it more and get more skills/equipment. Seemed most of the time I was sitting there listening to him complain about mana. I eventually got bored and went back to my Wizard.

I was going to roll a Barbarian, but I may wait on my melee type class for RoS and level a Crusader.

I really never understood the disdain for these guys. Who cares what they spend their money on and who cares if they have more DPS than you?



But, this wouldn't be a community if we all didn't whine about everything better than us! "This class is better than mine! Nerf it! WHAAAAAA!" "Some people make more money than me and spend it on items I can't afford! Nerf it! WHAAAAA!" "Some people get better drops than me! Buff drop rates! WHAAAAA!"

I mean one benefit the AH brought to Diablo was filling the role that "Badges of Justice" did for WoW or philosophy/mythology tomes do for FFXIV, gold could act as the common 'token' you can use to get that item you want that just doesn't drop. It might be expensive or imperfect but it was definitively available.

I mean, I want a Thundergods Vigor for my monk. But if it never drops... well then it never drops. Maybe some of the new game features will address that somehow, like Blood Shards or something.

I got a Thundergod's Vigor on my Barb...semi useless but it was an upgrade. Wish I could give it to you.

Need power level a crusader to 70 Lol. I need to power level my wizard to 60 this week to have all 5 current toons at 60. And then start thinking about hardcore too!

I tried the Wizard but didn't really like it. Gonna have to try it again now and a Monk too.

As far as basic stats--improving DPS, eHP, etc--I suppose it would. However, it doesn't help that much if you're interested in trying a certain gear set with synergies, which might include these new unique item properties and/or specific set bonuses. It's the BoA that bothers me, rather than loss of the AH. You're entirely reliant on the RNG to both (1) get the drop you're looking for and (2) get stats you need on that drop.

The AH was the only reason the 1st release was bearable, since the drops were so horrible and uninteresting 99.999(repeating)% of the time; though it wasn't enough for a lot of people, because *surprise* people like to find good loot. Now that the drops are more interesting (at least IMO), they're gonna restrict you from trading them. I don't think an AH is needed, necessarily, but I'd be surprised if D3 keeps people interested in the long-term without trading. We'll see.
