Rolling a crusader will be simple will the plethora of gems.

Is the gear drops that much better at higher levels? I need to replace my weapon with something that has LoH because I have been using Life steal which no longer works.

I had one of the best spears you could get pre 2.0 (1200 dps, socket, 95 crit, LS) and I upgraded it by like 20% dps at 66 then again at 70 (without a socket, mind you). I found a Pig Sticker with like 1900 dps, no IAS, no socket, dex, vit, 2.4k LoH, and some other stats I am going to do trade for a socket.

That was literally my only upgrade, but I have pretty good gear going into Act V.

It is rather unfortunate they made EF not roll the APS increase anymore though. Losing that is going to be tough. I wish I had gotten one without LS on my monk though. =( Running 2 LS weapons made me near invincible pre 2.0.

Yeah I swapped my EF for a new spear last night. Slowly but surely my monk is attacking more and more slowly

What really sucks is that IAS is capped, and you won't get trifectas anymore. The gear is nowhere near as good as pre 2.0 gear. Amulet with average damage, main stat, vit, trifecta? Impossible to roll in 2.0... "Oh, we fixed itemization! We just made everything awful. Herp derp, hamfist Blizzard fix go!"


Also, literally 4 of every 5 belts I found were mighty belts, picked up by a monk...

One thing I noticed is that ever since saturday the server lag starting to get crappy for me. Wonder how long this last or if they'll move some of the servers over the supporting D3 during maintenance today.

I think the limitation on the number of main/primary properties does really hurt rare items. I get that people love legendaries but I think it's kind of boring how "new" rares are very homogenized now and will likely have little to no place actually being equipped before all that long, which is kind of the unfortunate side effect of that.

It is not just rares, legendaries face that same 4 primary / 2 secondary garbage as well. So, pretty much every legendary you find is only going to have 4 primary stats (main stat, vit, crit, AR, LoH, and something like a damage type increase, socket) and have 2 trash stats (gold pick up, gold find, thorns, etc). Legendaries also come with some kind of special stats on occasion as well (Pig Sticker has 30% increase damage to humans, for example), but they are still stuck in the awful 4/2 ratio.

I've been checking reddit a few times to see if anything really interesting pops up. I like the new legendary "infinite" potion and the room full of treasure pygmies (within a nephalem rift). Looks like it'll be fun trying to experience all the new stuff.

Amazon tricked me though...said expected delivery of March 25th until I checked this morning and it said basically "uh...we don't know when you're gonna get it, so we understand if you want to cancel your order".

I was hoping we'd see items like Reaper's Wraps (bracers), Piro Marella (crusader shield), and Golden Scourge (1h flail) that have 8 properties + a 'unique' secondary stat, at least according to the Battle.net game guide... and that they'd have maybe a 5/3 split at least.

I didn't check every item in the game guide, but even if those entries are still accurate, there's not many (any?) more items like that. They're all blacksmith recipes.

You should be able to do that. Although, wouldn't you have saved money just buying the upgrade from Blizzard? I don't see much sense in ever buying a normal boxed copy unless there's a special on it, because Blizzard normally charges $10 less for a digital copy and $20 less for the digital collector's.

The digital regular is $30? Didn't know that.

As far as the CE, you get other things not included in the digital collector's.

The digital regular is $40, just looked. I'd rather get the physical box for the same price... I have a lot of display stuff from Blizzard... just preference.

Ah, apologies for misleading. I thought they were still charging less, but maybe my memory is going to pot at my "old age". I know what you mean though... I have a small bookshelf that's pretty much full of Blizzard junk! I also recently hung up a ridiculously large Malthiel poster that I bought from Blizzard. I think it's something crazy like 24"x48"!

That might be true, but there is still a moronic split of primary and secondary and the Mystic can only change within those. Literally, ever item will have gold radius or thorns. It is stupid...



Also, is anyone really disappointed with the wings of valor? I really wish we had gotten something like Malthael's wings.

As soon as you get some gear that has gem slots, you can throw in some marquise or imperial gems for massive stat boosts. I did it just before RoS to level a few characters.

Get a 1h sword with 40 dps at around level 10, throw a +200 dmg gem in it and you now have an OP weapon. Get something with 3 sockets in the chest, and add a few +100 str gems, and you are now even more OP.

Then there's the paragon points. Having a character start at L1 with 100 AR is pretty nice

I finished act V with my witch doctor last night after a marathon 4 hour session after the expansion hit in a full group. Was level 70 shortly before fighting Malthael after leveling to around 65 on T3, before dropping it to T2 for the first major boss and then down to T1 when we were all 66-67 as the monsters were just hitting too hard. Ended finishing off Malthael on T1. Probably doable to farm on T1, but any higher will require quite a few gear upgrades.

Had a 2.2k dps Echoing Fury as my guaranteed legendary drop from Malthael, that I'm considering salvaging some of the junky legends I found while leveling to try for a socket and use for now.

Have you guys gone back and tried the [lesser] acts now that you're 70? They're an absolute joke and not scale at all to level 70, only 60. Massive design failure. T6 will be incredibly easy now and I'm guessing people will probably be paragon exp'ing in A1-4 on T6.

Edit: This was due to the level scaling with a lower level in party. Stupid me not realizing that! Point still stands though. I wonder how much faster exp would be with a scaled lower level in party...I'll have to experiment some.

Have you guys gone back and tried the [lesser] acts now that you're 70? They're an absolute joke and not scale at all to level 70, only 60. Massive design failure. T6 will be incredibly easy now and I'm guessing people will probably be paragon exp'ing in A1-4 on T6.

I like the overall feel/ambiance of the expansion so far. Love the street level, gritty and fun with lots of short events.

Funny I also upgraded my average Skorn with a rare 2H mace with 1799DPS and some nice stats...but no soket. When I get the mystic i'll probably try to add a socket on it. Also found a set Amulet, The Traverler's something...that was a hell of an upgrade.

Love the expansion so far. I also started a Crusader on Hard. Sweet class though a bit slow and "weird" but I really like it so far. Great class with solid looking armor and flail...I love flails!

I didn't find anything great last night, but at level 70 on the very last mob before Malthael (on normal no less) a unique 2-handed staff dropped with 2.5k dps. Then Malthael dropped a legendary plan and a set amulet and a handful of rares that were all upgrades. That was all in the span of a few minutes. It was almost loot overload.

And as an aside, I picked up the base game a little after the loot 2.0 patch when the auction house was still active. I sold a bunch of stuff on the gold auction house, but stupidly forgot to list some gems and old crafting material that are now completely worthless. I'm sitting at around 21 million gold, and I wished I had tried to get double that or even triple before the auction house closed. With the mystic stat rerolls, and the jeweler, and the blacksmith, I can see things getting expensive quickly and I don't know how I'm supposed to amass gold in any significant amount now.

Last night I ran Core of Arreat at T2 and all I was getting at level 70 was a bunch of random drops ranging from mid 50's to 60's as their level...and the mobs were really easy to wipe out. Something isn't right, either by design or a bug with A1-4 content in story mode. I really don't care much because adventure mode is where all the players are now, and that's where I'll be.
