Also found an interesting restriction on loot/the mystic last night. I don't think items can roll AR + specific resist any more, either that or if a primary stat is AR then the mystic will not allow specific resistances to appear when re-rolling a secondary stat (and the opposite would probably be true as well I'd bet).

I noticed that as well but what I've also noticed is that the single-resists (poison, fire, etc) are now rolling upwards of 150 so it appears the loot system is making up for it.

I finished up Act 5 last night on my monk on T1 and, boy, was it getting pretty rough. I was nearing 300k DPS and 2.6m toughness and had to switch to 1-h & shield. DPS dropped to around 250k and toughness went to around 3m but I was okay with that as I have switched my build over to high-spirit cyclone/sweeping winds (lightning)/lashing tail kick (lightning stun) build and was mainly responsible for pulling and keeping mobs around me for the nukers and AOE in the party. Worked out pretty well. Died twice on Mal and ended up with the recipe for Reaper's Wraps and another legendary (can't remember which one but was nothing to write home about). I did pick up a pretty good Fleshrake that I will try and put a socket on at the mystic unless I find something better.

Anyone else finding Death's Breath crafting agent difficult to find? I had enough to upgrade the Mystic but only had enough to partially upgrade Blacksmith. What's the trick to getting those? Will they drop on anything other than Torment levels? If so, I guess I could just run through lower difficulties and wreck elite packs for them...

I did a quick farm for them in Master mode and they still dropped.

Death's Breath are basically the new Demonic Essence - so yeah if you're actively using them chances are good you're not going to have a lot of them since they only drop one at a time from rares/champs/bosses afaik.

Also, they drop in Normal difficulty, so you can easily farm elites in like VoA on normal if you really need them.

Upgrade my blacksmith, JC, and Mystic fully yesterday. Found a 70 plan for bracers - Reaper Bracers or something (5 stat + secondary of health globes regain like 30-40% of your resource). Sadly, you need some kind of special material to craft them.

Got the DH to 70 and found a 2200 DPS Dynettas. Going to attempt to socket it and profit.

A couple of quick questions.

1) To try for a socket with the mystic do you need to scrap a primary or a secondary stat?

2) If you start a new toon and level him up to 70 in Act 1 before killing any of the bosses, will you then get 5 guaranteed level 70 legendaries when you go through the rest of the acts?

Sockets are primary.

And I doubt it, A1-A3 "guaranteed" boss legendaries are only rewarded sub 60 (I suppose that could be sub 70 now, hard to say). Diablo was only the only guaranteed legendary at 60 (and only once per quest reset) - they may have made it so that Maltheal is the only one at 70.

Yeah I need to look into this as well. I read a little about the new crafting mats before the release, but it didn't sink in without some context to go along with it. In my trip to 70 last night, I maxed out my Mystic and I need 3 more mats to hit rank 12 on my Blacksmith (not sure if there's additional upgrades after I hit 12?). But yeah, they were slow to drop for me. I haven't upgraded the Jeweler yet. I don't think it'll take long to get them all upgraded in the grand scheme of things, but I could see mats being a big roadblock for crafting in general. I got a couple of nice plans last night (pender's & reaper's wraps), but all the new high level recipes are dependent on rare mats.

I started at 60 last night on T1, but only found minor upgrades along the way. My DPS steadily went up from 130k-ish initially to 240k-ish when I hit 70 and ~310k shortly after, and my HP went up a lot quick; BUT monster dmg and HP outpaced me the whole time. I dropped to Master after a few levels, then Expert after a few more, and eventually ~Lv68 I said screw it and dropped to Normal so I wasn't spending so much time on each mob pack. I think drops between 60-70 are balanced for normal difficulty in Act 5, then at 70 the gates are finally opened. When I tried out Act 1 adventure mode at level 70, though, mobs seemed waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than the Act 5 stuff, like other people here have pointed out.

That's so, so disappointing. That's one of the recipes that states "+8 random magic properties" on battle.net...which says that info is out of date and there are no +8 property items. Sadface :'(

I played for a long time last night and actually had some good drops, finally! I'm pretty happy with just getting a Mirror Ball. There was a stat like vitality or something I didn't want, so I took a chance and rolled it with the enchanter and got APoC. I may go around the roulette wheel one day to see if I can get it to roll Magic Missile damage, but that might take a looong time, heh.

Also had an Occulus drop with Blackhole damage and no crit chance. May scrap that one. I have a lvl 70 Gesture of Orpheus as well which I want to try to put a socket in. The 60% faster recharge rate on Slow Time is very handy. I am able to keep multiple Stretch Time bubbles up for pumping out Conflagrate triple missiles.

Mal was rough. I would teleport to dodge something and he would rush and knock me into the circling skulls or some other rubbish. I got him though. Felt good doing on Torment 1 since the difficulty climbed so drastically.

I will check again, but I don't recall them being 7 random properties + the secondary. They seemed rather meh, tbh.

Man if I had a dollar for every bow or barbarian belt I've found on my Wizard. I could outfit a damn army of barbs and demon hunters with this stuff.

I started playing a Crusader last night, and it's an interesting class so far. My only problem is the shield bash ability thing has one gigantic flaw in the way the game handles it: it requires the enemy to stand still. Now, that kind of makes sense, but I mean if the enemy moves at all, the ability will probably just be a waste of Wrath. In my experience, if the enemy moves, the ability will do what it does to all other mobs in your path: knock them out of the way. I can't tell you how many times I've attacked air because my target got pushed away! :|

To be more specific, battle.net says 8 random properties plus that health globe secondary property. I found those plans also, but still need to upgrade blacksmith to learn it.

I've never done the reset quest thing, how often/when should that be done?

What I know about it:

- The Reset can only be done after you completed ALL the quests of all Acts
- The Reset will reset everything, including portals, and will give better drop chances (I recall having read something like that a couple months ago)

So resetting your quests will erase everything and will give you better drop chances on loot...

Whenever you want the pain of having to run through the entire game again for a guaranteed legendary on the last boss. In the time it takes to run through that on normal, the same amount of time spent farming would yield the more legendaries and XP.

Only got to play for about a half hr yesterday, will get to play more tonight.

Made it to 64 leaving it on T2 and just soloing a bit. I reset my quests a little before the expansion hit and ended up not having time to make it to Diablo (wanted to change up running the same XP / Loot routes), so just been fooling around in Act 1.

Overall the only comment I can make on the new changes is the Black Hole spell is pretty sweet for the Wizard. I was reluctant to try it, and while I don't think it is as effective as my previous spell for my build, it is pretty fun so I kept it. Give it a shot if you haven't!

Played through Act V on Master last night. My Wizard was having a tough time towards the end. I was playing ACT IV on Torment 2 previously and was doing ok. But in Act 5 Master I was dieing like crazy. This is with 214k DPS and 1.6m Toughness. Having to do a lot of kiting.

But overall I really like Act V, and loving the new 61+ gear.

My DH had little problems in T6 @ 60, but I had to turn the difficulty down due to bosses eventually. Granted, I didn't get much in the way of upgrades until 68 or so, and even then, it was only a weapon upgrade.

My monk is basically worthless in the higher T levels now, but that is mostly due to me having Life Steal keeping me going before, and now that is nerf bat dead.

Yeah my WD and Barb got hit hard by the life steal change. Just need to do a lot more gear hunting to move back up into Torment levels. My Wizard kills things fast, but dies so easily.

Currently my monk is using Mantra of Healing with the LoH rune - between it and the LoH from paragon levels it's pretty damn high, I think the better part of 7k LoH from only those two sources. It's a decent stopgap if nothing else until I find more on gear or get significantly more toughness.

I'm 70 on my wizard but haven't beat the game yet, still running around Pandemonium. I may have to drop down to Expert because I'm tired of getting rolled by blues and yellows. I really haven't found many upgrades, so I'm starting to struggle. Oddly I don't have trouble with most purples. But the damn champions always show up in packs of 3 and usually with an elite in tow and minions and a ton of crazy affixes. Next thing I know I'm getting chain-stunned while being hit by lighthing, mortars with poison and fire all over the ground. I go from full health to dead in like a second.

I've got my DH and wiz to 70 now and am playing the wizard more.

Found a 2700 dps 2h legendary sword with socket today. Might try a crusader next.
