AR functions on a diminishing returns scale, similar to how crit in WoW (or, at least used to). Every additional AR adds less damage resistance as the previous, and as such, it would be impossible to achieve 100% reduction through a resistance (not counting the legendaries that nullify damage of a certain element).

Well yes, but going from 0% to 50% dmg reduction from AR is the same as going from 50% to 75%, and once you factor in life regen, going 50% to 75% is actually extremely valuable.

And what exactly is that? He is, from what I can tell, stacking lightning damage and with a SoH and then pressing the "Spin 2 Win" button.

He doesn't have anything else that is particular powerful, again, from I can tell.

His Unity ring with his follower having a Unity ring and his follower's Trinket.

I have found a Unity ring and thought nothing of it, made it a Forgotten Soul, but watching him and reading on it, it is massive. Your damage is given 50% to your follower, who has a ring also, and he can't die due to his trinket. Your follower basically heals you nonstop while doing some damage.

I FINALLY got a Raekor's set piece, chest. It rolled so awful that I wanted to throw my computer out the window.

I hit the Wizard jackpot yesterday.

Been trying for Mirrorball for a while now... gambled thousands of shards and got mostly Light of Grace and Chantodo.

Well, not yesterday! Gambled me a 2-missile Mirrorball with some pretty decent stats (10% to crit chance and over 700 int, etc) and then got all excited, went back down to finish up a rift or something, and then not even 5 mins later my first leg drop was a Thunderfury which rolled a 367% out of a possible 372% on lightning damage to enemies. The damage roll was a little low, but nothing that the orange text didn't make up for.

I now have a primary spell that costs me 0 resources. I rerolled all my + arcane orb damage for Magic Missile damage. On a good shot I can hit for 20m damage that costs me 0 AP, but I average over 10m if I'm at least standing close.

I almost want to rework my entire Wizard now, but something tells me Blizz will nerf this thing as they already have once.

I've been dumping shards on helms in search of an Eye of the Storm, and man are there a lot of different legendary spirit stones. The unfortunate part is so many of them have nothing special about them, they're just ugly spirit stones with legendary stats - I swear there must be four or five different ones like that.

Oh I definitely didn't get an "awesome" one... I've seen them over 2400dps. I think I'm around 2100, but the orange text helps.

EDIT:

I'm at 2133 but I think that is only because I rerolled a stat to IAS.

Got the barb to 70 last night and instantly had 600k dps. >_>

Got 25 Act 1 bounty bags before I called it a night. Not a single legendary in any of them. =(

Did manage to get my toughness up from the abysmal 1.6m to 3.7m. Figure I need more though.


Also, SoH has been officially put on the "garbo" list. The proc rate is so slow. I did hear they reverted the nerf, but I couldn't confirm (as I don't have one).

I doubt they fully reverted the nerf, people were estimating it added 500k dps the way it was working.

If you aren't having fun why are you bothering?

A reward would be something nice eventually for your time invested into the game. RNG for me has been awful this expansion. Fun goes out the window when you get crap after crap after crap.

How long am I supposed to play before I get anything valuable to better my character's advancement? I am over 150 hours and have not gotten one item truly endgame that is itemized correctly.

Level 60 IK chest is itemized better.
Level 70 Blackthorne's is itemized better.

After 150 hours and nothing to truly improve my character yet, since gear is improving your character in Diablo 3, how am I supposed to look at this?

The RNG is definitely a PITA. The major issue it's RNG on top of RNG layered with RNG and flavored with RNG with RNG zest on top. You fight the RNG for a drop, then for what kind, then for the stats, then if they are mediocre you fight them again at the mystic while having to pay using an item that you had to suffer through the RNG to get. I've rolled Vitality so many damn times when trying to re-roll an item that I'm ready to punch my screen next time I see this:

Vitality 703
Vitality 694
Vitality 650

And that waste of a pull took a forgotten soul that took me a few hours of gameplay to get in the first place. Poof!!!

Best thing I can suggest is to decide on a limit and stick to it. I can't imagine your gear sucks after 150hrs though.

I agree... also 150hrs in the wrong place is no good too. Should make sure you're doing t1/t2 rifts in a game of 4 people. The boost in grouping helps.

Here is my Barb. I got my shoulders two days ago and rolled badly on two affixes to me. I will roll the damage into AR. My helm came out of a cache which should not have happened from what I have seen. My Raekor's set piece /cry. SoH proc is worthless now. They fixed it alright. I rolled good weapons though. I am most likely going to throw the Shard on my Monk and maybe roll the Exarian strength to Dex and put it there also.

My Barb was Paragon level 100 before RoS. I have put in 150 hours already in RoS.

Your barb doesn't seem bad at all, but I don't play one so can't be sure. From a +str perspective it does seem oddly low.

Far as I know caches can drop more than just "cache only" legendaries, though they may not drop class restricted set items (which is a restriction on Kadala as well afaik). Most sets are not actually class specific however - the stats/bonuses may be class specific but most of them can still be worn by any character (such as Inna's pants which used to be very popular with... everyone).

Yes, caches can drop any legendary available in addition to the cache only legendaries.

Also, new set pieces can't be worn by other classes. It is possible the updated old set items can (I don't have any new ones, so I can't test it), but the new set pieces are class specific. I have crusader shoulders and a DH helm that can't be worn on any other class, despite being armor types everyone can equip.

That only increased his survivability, not his damage. He was literally mowing things down (and still is for the most part with a new fire build), but the SoH was broken. It proc'd far too often. I think the nerf is a bit much, but Blizzard isn't for fine tuning. They prefer nerfs to make good things useless (see the AH and BoA loot, as well as barb and CM wizard changes).
