I had started to become extremely frustrated as of late with the drops I was getting. At one point I had gotten legendary belts in what felt like 15 out of 20 drops. So, I leveled my other Barb from 60 to 70 to test out one of those theories that different characters are "seeded". I really didn't believe it but felt it was worth a try. I will just say that the drops are totally different for this Barb than my other one. When I hit 70, the guy that power leveled me killed Malthael on T1 and I got bracers I had never seen drop before for me.

I got IK boots that night before I logged.

I logged on and did not see much for an hour and then the fun began...

An SoJ dropped that I gave to a friend. It was really nice but the one my first Barb found will be extremely hard to top.

After the SoJ, an Odyn Son dropped with Dex and no socket. I was not happy as my Shard of Hate had the same thing. I just sat there. My friend knew I was not happy. I took a small break to see if I wanted to continue playing and I did. Then legendaries started to drop a lot....
Two rings
An amulet
Nearly perfect Fire Walkers (472 INT, 500 Vitality, 100 AR and the secondary was exp. I can re roll that INT to anything.)
A ring
A Mempo
A TF that I was praying to spawn strength and not dex.
Then a few more legendaries I had not had drop for me. I got a few more forgotten souls, but it was really nice seeing different loot drop.

I think I got 12 forgotten souls. I wound up playing for about three hours.

I'm having fun

I was arcane / disintigrate, and then I got near perfect reaper's wraps (500 vit, 6% cc, 20% cold damage, and I turned the armour into int), so I switched to a cold / frozen orb build. I started trying to find a light of grace.

Then a cinder coat and 17% fire bracers dropped, and so now I'm a fire wiz. Arcane orb with the fire rune, fire hydras (with the 1H weapon that lets you have 2 hydras at once), and black hole with the fire run. It's a lot of fun.

I don't trust their RNG system. It feels weighted and gated. After playing my new Barb for around four hours at 70, it feels vastly different.

I just wish I could find a damn legendary source for my wizard. Many runs and many shards at Kadala and nothing. Meanwhile I've gotten 4 legendary chest pieces from Kadala. I've probably spent 150 shards for those 4 chest pieces but closer to 600 on sources with nada

I don't trust their RNG system. It feels weighted and gated. After playing my new Barb for around four hours at 70, it feels vastly different.

Seriously though, 15 out of 20 legendaries were some type of belt.

Belts and blackthornes are the most common leg drops. I cant complain about RNG because I found 3 thunderfurys and 1 shard of hate on my Witch doctor.

I hate rngesus.. I wanted to try stacking cold for my dots doctor. In 23 tries no socket on my azurewrath. Makes me wanna quit. Also, I don't thinl I've gotten a single leg in about 1k shards from kadala.

I haven't played much this weekend. I am getting turned off by not getting set pieces.

For as common as blackthornes is supposed to be I've never had one drop. Only set pieces I've had drop are that travellers amulet and a Demon hunter piece I found while playing my wizard.

I got my Earth set helm out of a Torment cache. I do like the change though.

I got an awesomely rolled "Shard of Hate" yesterday, with socket and pretty much all stats maxed. 2300ish DMG. Once this was BiS besides Thunderfury, in particular for Barbs.

Problem: For wizards in general and especially for my fire-build this awesome sword is pretty much useless, it rarely ever procs w/ the spells I am using. So my old "Sword of Silarian" (sp?) w/ 2400 DPS, 2% more IAS and VIT is much better. Pretty sad.

Also if I were switch back to a cold wiz....my Azurewrath with 20% Cold DMG would probably be a better choice than Shard of Hate.

It just shows some elemental flaws the game has if you loot a really "awesome" piece of gear and find that it's really not of any use. Similar with the Tal Set where I think it's total crap EXCEPT the 4 pc set bonus with the meteors. Even stinking Blackthornes, 2 pc bonus w/ 10% dmg to Elites and 250Vit looks far better to me than the rather lame bonus the Tal Set provides.

Eh I was just shy of 20 rolls on my magefist to get it right.

I had a sankis axe and socketed it in 2 tries. Had to settle for fire on my wiz.

Trifecta mines in 1 try. Rngesus can be kind at times. Anyhow, found soj with wiz and it rolls arcane while I'm going fire.

Thread crapping aside, I actually came back after over a year off and am enjoying it much more than I initially did. My WD is actually much more fun to play now than he used to be.

What's so good about the Mask of Jeram? The set bonuses look interesting, but the item itself looks fairly normal....

I finished getting my Witch Doctor to 70, and then I went through and completed the campaign. I got that awful Zodiac ring from Malthael. (It gives your primary stat + every other stat, but about 1/5 of the amount!) I also got this terrible spear that's designed to only roll with 1-2% crit chance (changing that to +7% attack speed gave me a +7% boost). So, it seems like I got some of Diablo III's most troll-worthy gear within an hour.
