And this is the main problem with the idea that loot should be easy. I don't even have BiS and I am bored. Too much loot too fast. It is near pointless.
Yep. Give us more content ffs, why are Blizzard so soft on Diablo. I don't play WoW but I've heard that new content are added every month or something like that. So why the hell Diablo gets new content once a year!!!!!!?!!?!?!/!?!?!?!?1? I can think of sooo many things that Blizzard could add. What am I saying, they do............ they add NERF NERF NERF!

WoW gets new content every six to eight months.

Getting loot too fast is not the problem with D3. The problem is you get a piece of loot horribly itemized and continue to get the same crap horribly itemized over and over without the ability to get what you want. I am looking at you Weight of the Earth leggings.

People would play longer if there was hope of getting what you want on the items you wanted to upgrade. Continuously finding the same messed up itemized items is not beneficial.

A clan mate gambled leggings for his Crusader (strength plus awful damage mod are natural rolls) for a month and could not get a set that he could get strength, vitality, all resists and two sockets. After getting 20+ sets of leggings, he stopped playing.

well the reality of that is WoW has millions of people paying a fee every month and a cash shop on top of that so they are going to churn more content out for that game (but I still think they dont put back in near enough content for the money it makes them)

Diablo is buy once and keep playing for free thankfully.

I joined the AT clan tonight and as soon as I started a game, someone from the clan joined. He was asking me why I didn't have a level under my name (paragon level) and i told him was still just going through the campaign for the first time. He said that anyone in the clan can join another clan member's game. Is there a way to prevent that or is that just one of the things you have to deal with in being in a clan?

He asked if I wanted him to leave and I said he didn't have to but he just pretty much rolled through the level and I didn't really get to follow the story. I ended up quitting, plus i'm going to bed anyway.

I wouldn't mind playing with someone, i just want to complete the campaign without just steamrolling through. I like to explore the whole map, take time to evaluate items and new skills, etc.

It doesn't help that legendaries are too plentiful, but that's a reaction to the primary problem which is: there's hundreds of legendaries that are completely and utterly useless and are solely transmog skins. Not that they aren't slightly better than rares that can be found, but there's so many similar legendaries in the same slot with no unique properties that allow for any particular interest. The people responsible for item attributes watered it down too much. I guess they wanted the itemization for ages 2 and up.

Whoever created the basic template of blah blah primary attributes, and blah secondary attributes needs to be kicked in the nuts. Hard.

Not true. Quick join is the option you're looking for. Being in a clan doesn't nullify or override that option at all.

Well I didn't do anything different when I started the game it was still just a regular single player game as far as I know but he was still able to join anyway

That's honestly pretty odd that someone joined your game in story mode. Usually you would only join a game in adventure mode to rift together, unless you planned to play co-op. Anyway, you can just say you are playing solo. I'm sure they would leave.

Have you or your friend played other similar games? D3 has an insane drop rate and chance to get what you want. Your friend stopped playing after only 20+ tired for an item? How quick was he wanting to find it, because 20 tries is nothing. By gambling you are already getting to pick the slot you want. You basically want to pick the stats for it also if you want to find it in less than 20 tries.

They are ninja nerfing Kadala because of it. Blizzard doesn't like the easy farm methods. They hated split farming in RoS beta, but realized they couldn't do anything to really combat it.

Just make certain items unobtainable from Kadala or keep her the way she is then. Ninja nerf or not, people are still doing it. So, it must be enjoyable from them.

I'll tell you guys, the best way to farm gear is to get with a group, run different classes, and share.

WIth Diablo 3, there are no "single" player games. You create either a public game or a private game.

Public game - blizzard throws anyone into your game
Private game - only your friends and clan members can join IF you have "quick join" checked in the game settings (which it is by default).

If you want to play by yourself in a single/private game, you gotta create a private game and then also uncheck "quick join" option in the settings.

It was 20+ set legs he found which weren't good, which probably meant he spent 10's of thousands of shards.

ok, that explains it then. i didn't realize there was a quick join thing on by default.

ok, so where is this setting? I don't see it. The only thing I see about quick play is when the game loads, it shows active quick play games.

Whoever created the basic template of blah blah primary attributes, and blah secondary attributes needs to be kicked in the nuts. Hard.

Which was done as a reaction to players complaining incessantly about a lack of legendaries. Sure they're basically glorified rares but again it circles back to striking a balance between getting what you want but not getting to too fast. So there's a bunch of 'stat stick' legendaries which are actually great for someone upgrading from a rare piece or who just hit max level essentially - but no, there's nothing remarkable about them.

Personally I thought it was a good decision (though it's value is somewhat annulled the longer people play and with the crafting changes). It comes with the added consequence of some legendaries being "more legendary" than others fairly definitively - but that was always the case.

So why the hell Diablo gets new content once a year!

No Diablo-style game gets or needs any real content beyond a big library of items. That's all people play them for. End of story. And as long as people are content with that (and god are they ever - so much so that it the "loot is all that matters" mindset infects other genres) there's no need for any additional effort to be put in.

After getting 3 classes to 60 solo, finally decided to try online last night. Joined a random game with my DH on M1 with so-so gear. Don't know if I got lucky, but had fun and one of the guys even passed along some gear that were nice upgrades from what I had. Although some of the time I was playing catch up as they were just plowing through act 3 and I was still collecting / checking loot.

I've heard [for pub and non-close friend games] it's best to just run and kill with the group, only pick up rare+, only go to town to drop off, etc. Basically be in the game killing as much as possible.

Then when you leave the game, check out your stuff.

Well that makes more since. But, I still say D3 drops more loot than any game I have seen. People finding all legionaries or finding best in slot for even half your slots should be impossible unless you play for years and years. Once you find it all there is nothing to play for.

Now a theory crafting mode where you have access to every thing would be fun to play around with and test things out. It would also give you a taste of what you could find it you keep playing.

Anandtech turns up nothing on EU server search...

You could explore all the skill and item; I was clearing 60 % of the path via rolling though, but you have some monster to kill too. But same time I didn't want you to get killed.
There is not much of a story except events.
Next event was kill the Adria that is why Lora was with you.
You just left before going to that event.
Because you were in story mode; I asked you would like me to leave.
I think you played with me for 3 mins!

I asked him few times......... he said he didn't mind.
When I saw the game in Quick play I though it was Torment V
but it was running story mode act V.
I just want to wind down before hit the bad like 30 min of play........
if have asked me to leave I would have gone.

I've always found it pretty simple to port back to town, sell gear, repair, and go right back into the action in less than 1 min.

I always pick up all blues/yellows b/c arcane dust and veiled crystals become necessary when you start crafting/enchanting a lot.

If you don't want people to join in your game.
Do following
Game menu--> Option -->Social --> on right up Conner --> Additional Option --> un check the box "Enable Quick Join"
