TheInternet invited me to his game last night on T3. Let's just say I was mostly worthless, lol. I was dying very quickly, especially when we hit Malthael. I was barely doing any damage, even to trash mobs.

Malthael is much more challenging than Diablo, IMHO.

So, I don't think diablo progress is calculating in my Dps for COA and EQ. Wonder if there is a way to make it do this?

There used to be sites that would do Skill calculations too but they haven't even been updated to RoS, let alone 2.0.6. Somewhere on the battle net forums there are some formulas for the entire damage calculation including all stages (cc, ias, skill % etc) but that is again so old now that it's useless.

Blizzard have intentionally obfuscated the true DPS, Toughness & Healing stats/formulas to stop people making those perfect builds that dominated D2 & early D3.

They can only stop it for so long. Eventually, people are going to find it. Even without a true DPS number, you can easily find out which build is able to kill the fastest.

Ugh. In my quest for more Dps I have tried a lot of stuff. Now my toughness is waning.

I think I am going to suspend the Cota portion of my build. Maybe I will get an andarials visage to drop. I will dual wield the burning axe of Sankis and devastator. Maybe just the devastator and a storm shield for damage reduction.

Been playing my fire monk lately. Found a unity that wasn't awful (better than the RRoG I was using, at least, that wasn't being used properly). Also, found a Monkey King helm that wasn't terrible. Certainly better than the lightning spirit stone was I wearing. Exploding Palm is also really good for clearing mobs. Put it on 4 or so and then the chain reaction of them dying clears large packs. =)

Really, just waiting around on 2.1. =(

That's how it was. Blizzard changed that behavior a while ago.

They've made a couple of changes to loot that can drop from caches. The torment level that the cache was acquired from sets the type of loot that can roll, especially when they added possibility of Torment only items dropping from the caches. First change to caches was to stop people from opening caches from normal bounties in T6 games to get more imperial gems out of them. However, the actual stat rolls on items are still smart loot controlled by the class that opens it.

I currently farm caches on T4-6 with my DH and Crusader when I'm bored, but I still open them on my WD because I'd like a better rolled Int RoRG. Only Int Monarch and Gorgets from caches recently though.

Edit: Blue comment on this topic today. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/13348454718#3

Torment set items have always been able to drop from Torment caches. I don't know about other Torment legendaries, but the sets have always dropped.

Normal to T1 has the same chance of getting cache items. T2 and up was increased.

In regards to monks in group play, if anyone ever sees me online feel free to invite me to your party, even if it's not full (99% of my time is spent on my monk). I'm usually down for running with people instead of solo. It just seems no one wants to run with other players during the day and solo play is more prominently exercised on the nights and weekends. (I work at night, so I'm online during the day, ET.)

I've incorporated the Inna's 4 piece bonus, so all 4 mantras are running all of the time with me. It made a pretty significant difference IMO. Plus, it's fun seeing a blob of graphics at everyone's feet, heh.

Was checking out some more of the PTR stuff last night, and it looks absolutely amazing. You can get gear with procs for skills on it (Exploding Palm on hit, for example, on Monk). That is just amazing.

Yeah, the 2.1 updates to add more unique affixes to legendaries will certainly make a great improvement. I've been hording my rift keys and just running bounties in anticipation of running greater rifts non-stop when it releases.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but did they say if the changes would be retroactive or not? I'm guessing no. Hopefully it won't, otherwise I'll be kicking myself for not holding onto all of those pointless legendaries that will now be full of the points.

My mistake. I meant rifts, not greater; to farm the not-as-sucky legendaries faster.

I was at ~1300 Rift Frags before the PTR and dropped it down to ~900 but since PTR went up I have gotten back up to ~1200 or so and hope to be around 2k before it goes live. I intend to be opening a lot of rifts (I do open a few now) and also curently I have 17 of each hellfire keys (except war, 21) ready for helping the clan get hold of some Hellfire Amulets.

I've changed my Crusader build recently and included Shield Bash, which I had never tried before. Now I'm rather confused about how the Shield Cross rune is "supposed" to work, versus how it actually works. I'm not 100% certain yet, but I think that the frontal shield specifically might not work as intended.

The description for Shield Cross says: " Additional shields erupt from you in a cross formation. Enemies hit by any of the additional shields take 155% weapon damage plus 100% of your shield's Block Chance as damage. "

Now, visually when I shield bash a target and I deal damage I only see one damage number pop from the target even if the frontal additional shield visually hits. The cross formation itself is "fixed" in that there's always a frontal shield (one in front of the character), one erupting from the back and two on both sides. Now, the two shields erupting from the sides and the one from the character's back do seem to work, in that they do damage enemies as I see it occur when I activate damage numbers from the game's options.

But when I charge at a target and visually run toward and hit it, there's then a frontal shield that erupts from my character's front (yeah, duh) after the initial hit occurs. You know, it goes like this; Initial charge hit = damage, then additional shields erupt. The shield's eruption is almost immediate after the initial hit, but not quite instantaneous per se, it's easy to see on-screen. That specific frontal shield does visually "hit" (or rather, gets through) my target, but as I mentioned earlier I only see one damage number pop from the target which happens to be the damage number from the initial hit, and none from the following frontal shield.

Now the problem is that the only damage number I actually see pop out from the target is singular, be it a normal white damage number of a critical hit. Note that I have tested Shield Bash without a rune and the damage number that pops out is within the same range as the one that pops out when I use Shield Cross, which leads me to believe that the extra frontal shield isn't doing the damage that it's supposed to (I.E. 155% weapon damage), or simply don't work at all. I want to repeat that I'm talking about the frontal additional shield here, not the other three (from the back, and the two others from the sides).

Also, it appears that all four shields don't do critical damage, but during combat it's difficult to see. I know that the back and side shields do normal damage as I've tested them, but I've never seen a single critical hit damage number from any of those three additional shields hitting a target. I do see a critical hit damage, however, as the initial charge hits, but never from the additional erupting shields.

I think I still need some testing to make sure but so far that specific Shield Bash rune doesn't seem to be working as intended... or simply that the rune's description itself just lacks details and everything works well on paper.

Just got back into it and power-leveled my crusader to 70. Rolling through T1 right now pretty easily. Do higher levels of Torment have better chances to drop legendaries or is it just gold and XP bumps?

Oh, and is it me or are a lot of legendaries pretty.... meh? I get pretty stoked when I find one only to end up banking it and keeping my Rare equipped.

Torment legendary drop rates compared to non-Torment:

T1: 1.15
T2: 1.32
T3: 1.52
T4: 1.75
T5: 2.01
T6: 2.31

Finally decided to grind out the last 5 or so levels on my Wizard and hit 70. Ugh, my billions in perma freeze high dps gear worthless. =(

Oh well, magic missile with a shard of hate isn't terrible.

I've been playing my Crusader quite a bit lately and have found him to be pretty absurdly powerful in comparison to my barbarian and demon hunter. At first I thought he was pretty average until I got my hands on a Soulsmasher. Unless I'm looking at the wrong numbers, the effect seems to do about 1.5-2.0 million damage aoe every time a mob dies. So I use Blessed Hammer and clear packs of mobs almost like they're nothing using Blessed Hammer. My elite damage is only semi-moderate, but I seem to have little issue taking out T4 elites.

I do have a Gyrfalcon's Foote (no socket yet, grrr!) + Jekangbord (6 ricochets) combination, but even that doesn't seem to match the dps of the Soulsmasher. Is this weapon bugged or something?

-My in game dps says ~620,000 though, and thanks to my RRG, I have the 4th bonus of the demon set, but it doesn't show in this link.

I'm going to be going through and switching out my resist all gems to strength gems.

Tried out torment 1 and wasn't too bad. Those damn pink rotating laser balls suck! What kind of damage are they?
