Do you find that you get more of a certain type of legendary item when it drops? I seem to mostly get 2 handed weapons...its really pissing me off.

After taking time off I came back and started playing monk. Holy crap monk exploding palm is powerful. My monk paper dps is 293k and is weak as hell solo. Then she suddenly turns into a nuclear weapon in multiplayer rifts. I just max out toughness, charge into a crowd and start marking mobs. A few seconds later they all go boom. I don't even have the right gear yet.

Yep, that's what's sort-of pissing off monks at the moment: being stuck as support with very little option for doing damage.
You're basically either an EP-ho, or ping pong freak. Personally, I hate constantly jumping around the screen just to do damage. It's completely wrong...for a melee class. (Raiment 6 set bonus.)
2.1 has a good bit of updates to help with the state of the monk, but who knows when it'll land at this point; and there's more they need to do to bring the monk back to how it "should be".
I got 7,030 achievement points now. I have been working on HC for two weeks. I found a good Odyn Son and it helped me get the HC boss achievements.
And I just watched them tick off Lol.
If you want to try for them, I can help.
My HC crusader is nearly able to comfortably stay in T2. That's exciting for me. I was able to finish a T2 rift and largely do it without issue, but there were some ridiculously tense moments.
I took a toughness hit (mostly in vitality, 300K HP[!] and 6M toughness currently) and lost two sockets (I use Finery, strength took a big hit) in getting aughild's built; the set bonuses don't quite cover the gap, let alone buff me out like they should.
I'm thinking I'll drop down to expert, switch to the darklight, and try to rush rifts until I get enough souls/mats to:
a. get my third socket in my chest again
b. build at least two pieces of Asheara's for the extra set bonuses for toughness
c. seriously consider if I care enough to build a third piece to get the follower summoning ability of Asheara's. I am super glad to have a RoRG.
d. stick a socket in my helm again
2.1 making jewelry sockets desirable will easily get my crusader pushing 8500 strength once I find socketed jewelry worth using.
Or use my HC WD to farm on expert. It'll depend on how well the darklight can clear mobs on a lower difficulty. It didn't roll fantastic. But my WD is getting close to torment ready. If I weren't crafting everything for the crusader, it might already be there. Just got Spite plans, it looks to be an improvement over my rare mojo.
I like that I can cancel out of an enchant if I don't like the choices. I still pay the material and gold cost, but I don't have to end up with anything worse.
I've never run an HC character, what are the differences, other than (obviously) death is permanent? I assume the Paragon levels start out at zero for your first HC play?
