I've said that I don't care that people are complaining about ancient legendaries on the forums. My opinion is that they are children whining about nothing. I've already stated as much. I don't know why you would try to tell me the same thing again, like it will magically change my mind.
I don't see how an item like SMK being very rare is a valid complaint. What does it boil down to? "I don't have one! I want one! I should have one!" Sounds totally legit to me. /s
Last time I checked, T6 is still very doable without an SMK. Oh, but we're not talking about the child's play that is T6, right? We're talking about pushing grifts and getting ranked. I wish I could sympathize with that, but my best toon is a HC WD in T3. Not everyone is running around fully geared in T6.
How many players does that legitimately apply to? 200? 1,000? What percentage of the playerbase are those top tier guys? The 0.1%? Probably less. Are they even complaining? If you're not already at the top, I guarantee an ancient legendary won't magically put you there. If today, I logged in and got a furnace or SMK to drop, you know at what level I'd be playing at? Maybe T4. Let's imagine that ancients are available and I get an ancient SMK. What then? T4. I just don't have any of the other gear for a pet doctor outside of MoJ.
I'm a much better representation of the vast majority of players than people running fully geared, perfectly rolled build defining items. Ancient legendaries are for them. Now they have something to hunt for. That's what Diablo is, the hunt for loot.
"But it's hard to get." If it were easy, the game wouldn't be any fun. It shouldn't be easy, and Blizzard rightfully made the massive game-changers like SMK hard to get.

When ancient legendaries are introduced, will your toon suddenly only be able to run T2 and grift level 12? The answer is obviously no. Will an ancient put you right into the thick of things running grift 51 in a 4-player game? Maybe, if you were already running 46 or 48 in the first place. But everyone seems to be glossing over the fact that ancients are more likely to drop in high level grifts. So only those who are already well decked out have the better chance of getting ancients. The top will stay at the top; RNG isn't going to magically boost someone like me into the leaderboards.
It's worth mentioning that ancients only have boosted stats, the legendary affixes that make the items build-defining don't change. An ancient furnace won't have more elite damage, and an ancient SMK won't take 2 seconds off for every hit.
Like I said, I don't see it as a valid complaint, at all. You're obviously welcome to disagree with me. People whining on a forum is not a justification (especially not the whining on this issue. I should have an SMK, I played a lot!), nor does it qualify as a legitimate complaint on that basis alone.
I don't see anything wrong with a new tier of items to keep the top players going. If I ever get an SMK, I know I won't throw a hissy-fit that it's not ancient. I'll just start hunting for ancients.
