1.0.2 Inferno was way harder than current T6. There were white monsters in A3 Inferno doing 540,000 damage PER MELEE HIT at a time when the average melee player had about 250,000 toughess. The difficulty scaled by Act, with Act 4 monsters the hardest. Most people farmed A3 because it had the same loot table as A4 but was only about half as hard due to easier monster affixes.
To imagine how hard the original A3-A4 Inferno was, imagine a basic mob in T6 doing 20,000,000 damage in a single melee attack.
Exactly this. If you think that T6 is harder than inferno then you either didn't play when the game released or you really have a bad case of the fanboi-ism (which I also wouldn't doubt).
All they really did was patch their super crappy loot hunt to make it slightly less super-crappy but it still lacks some core fundamentals that made D2 and other games so great. The fact that you need to hunt for SPECIFIC pieces just to get past a certain point of the game is garbage, there are no variables in the game.
