I started a Monk and a Barb for season 2. I got the Barb to 70 at around PL 72. At PL 110 and a GR level 4 I got a decent Furnace. That, along with a good chest and helm for Raekor's I am struggling for gear drops badly at PL 175. Gambling has yielded me nothing at all.
I ran some bounties on my Barb and got a RoRG to drop. I was stoked. It had 7% IAS and 44% CHD. I run to Kadala to get a socket for the LoH and notice it is dexterity.
I passed on the best non ancient Torch I had seen to allow a friend to have it as he mains a Monk this season. The guy that found it had been helping me out. He has found two very nice Ancient Torches and like four plus regular ones. I had one from earlier that is not that good but it is a Torch.
I am just trying to figure out what I want to do. I want to run T6 fast and efficiently but three drops in over 100 PL is a motivation killer. I want to be able to run decent GR but I can't do that either. I don't know how long I am going to play seasons if I can't get anything to really drop and my non season characters are decked out.
This is strange. I've leveled both a Barbarian and a Crusader to 70 since Season 2 has started. With the Crusader, I was able to acquire a full set of both Akkahns and Rolands very quickly after hitting 70. And with the Barbarian, I've already gotten a full set of Raekor's. This does not make me > you. Hear me out on this. The point I'm getting at is, what is your plan? How are you grinding? I've found that if you focus on T1/T2 difficulty by yourself, you're going to be doing A LOT of grinding before anything beneficial drops. If you just crank the difficulty up to T6 the moment you hit 70 and join a public game, you're going to get the gear you need very, very quickly. And I mean very quickly. I was basically full Raekor's within two 1-2 hour sessions. Yes, you'll be hitching off the hard work of someone else for a few runs, but at those levels, there is always one or two players who are carrying the rest of the group.
Now I get to return the favor!
My routine is basically this:
1. I start by firing up a private T6 game to complete the Act 1 quest for RoRG grinding. I don't over-do it though. I may do this once per play session.
2. Open the game up to public do Rifts/GRifts. There are some gems you want to get to level 25 pretty early on.
My final advice: Focus on offense until you start getting into the GR35+ realm of the game. I find that players focus on defense way too much way too early in the game, and they wonder why they can't kill anything or farm fast enough. If you're getting the right gear, the defense will come naturally. Survivability does become much more important in the later stages of the game (where everything practically one-shots you), but focus on dat offense! Killing power is paramount.
