Question for the masses: When using those Paragon points, do you all tend to focus on certain stats based on the character you're using? e.g. for Barb, do you focus and fill up strength the entire way on offense before doing something else? And if there is already a guide on this somewhere that I've completely whiffed, please let me know.

Basics are to cap out movement speed first (make sure you're at the base 25%). Then fill in where you need for the difficulty and build you're playing. Again, I want to emphasize the build you're playing will be an important deciding factor. Gear, or lack there-of, will also forcefully decide for you. >.<

Core:
Movement speed (to base cap 25%) > Vitality (to survivable levels for the difficulty you're playing; skip if you're not dying at all; see below) > Primary stat >>>>>> Increased resource (this is very situational)

Offense:
CC / CD (depending on your CC/CD ratio; maintain ~1 CC:10 CD) > Cooldown Reduction (unless the build is primarily focused on this) > IAS

Defense:
Resist All > Armor > LPS > Life (again, these all vary depending on how much life you have, your build, and the difficulty you're playing at)

Utility:
LoH > RCR > Area Damage > Gold Find

My general rule for health (in softcore) ends up being 300k for T6, 400k for GR 40+, and 600k for GR 50+, though I'm sure this'll change with 2.3 coming. I haven't bothered playing hardcore in a long time, but my guess is around 150% of those numbers. Obviously these numbers change based on your build and function. It's just a matter of trial and error on each build to get it just right.

So here are my observations from the PTR so far:

Monster DMG is down in greater rifts. Did a 53 and the monsters don't even tickle. RG health is also down. Much easier to kill. The Cube takes some tuning make sure you have the optimum build. Right now I'm running hexing/Furnace/rorg in the cube with COE and unity. Running IK4/WW6. Probably switch back to BK and a SOJ to see what that gets me.

I did a 51 last week on the PTR with Furnace and Mara cubed (can't remember what's in the armor slot, but I know it's not hexing pants). Anyway, smooth sailing through trash mob, but DESTROYED the RG in like 10 seconds. I didn't think Furnace alone would help that much

Wow, they scaled it back that much? I expect leaderboards to be 80 solo and 100 in a party of 4 then. Jeez.

Eventually yes, but likely not right away. Remember that this is still the first version. There's still some balancing yet to do until it goes live.

Sorry if this has been talked to death previously.

I just picked up D3 for something to mindlessly blow off steam, and I'm really frustrated by server-lag in the 1P game. I consistently see latency 350-450 ms and this translates to lots of annoyance. I didn't expect this to be an issue since I'm really only playing for the single-player game.

I'm currently playing over WiFi (intel wireless AC card) connected on 5 GHz to an Archer C7 v2 in the same room. Since the stock firmware has no QoS settings, is the only way to fix this to try to switch to a wired connection?

My desktop is wireless via an N adapter (5 GHz), and my pings are very playable. Typically ~100. Not amazing, but easily playable for a game like Diablo.

Might have to make sure all the correct ports are open? Not sure what to say. I know it can work wirelessly.

I play wirelessly all the time and never really have a problem. The only time I see issues are when there are server problems or the few times where I've had slower internet (cable line issue in the neighborhood) and someone in my apartment was streaming.

350-400ms is pretty bad. I play through a wired connection and my son plays through an AC7260 wireless card connect to my Archer C7 v1. We play concurrently through a 3mbps connection and can share without issue with pings between 125-140ms. Like others have said, my only issues arise when someone is streaming Netflix/Amazon or downloading a file. What version of firmware do you have on your router? It really wasn't stable for my son's PC until the last two releases. I am just using the Archer as an access point, with a CLEAROS server as a router.

I just reinstalled the game after a year off. It seems more fun than I remember it with more frequent drops, and less grinding for gear unless you are looking for the perfect items. I rolled a seasonal character to check the exclusive items, but apparently the season is coming to an end soon? What do you guys play? Seasonal or non season?

For the most part, I stick to non season. I don't want to create a new character each season when I already have leveled characters of the classes I like. I just wait for the season exclusives to be available at the end of each season.

The general understanding is that overall more people play season, however our AT clan is mostly non-season. Personally most of my effort has been towards my non-season characters, although I do have a season character that I started for a change-of-pace.

would be nice if there were more fresh or limited gear builds out there. have found many good ones but they only work once you either have most of your set together, or a likewise number of unique legendaries.

The reason they don't exist is because they don't matter.

Gear is nigh 100% interchangeable until you get the pieces to complete your build. Until then, just do what you want.

I tried playing S2 with monk but I don't think I'd run seasons any more because it's hard to give up all the paragon I've accrued over time. While I don't play super heavily nowadays, I still have played quite a bit the past three years to collect a bit of gear and paragon.

Just finished up gearing a barb to solo GR 50 with it and have now soloed GR50 with all six classes this era. It was a goal I decided to try for after a clan mate did it, and it's given me a better appreciation of class balancing (or maybe lack thereof haha).

Alright, so what's the deal with the Hellfire Amulet and Ring? Are they worth the effort at all or is it just a lesser alternative to bounties and grifting?

They can be crafted into a best in slot item with luck. Some people have gotten pretty incredible versions of them, others have tried multiple times and gotten only average ones.

I've been playing this on PS4 but this thread is more active and I have a question about set bonuses. If you have all the pieces to give you the 4 piece bonus do you also get the bonus from 3 and 2, or do you just get whatever bonus is for having all 4 (or 6)pieces?

You probably want to hold onto your materials before crafting them now. For instance, they are going to have a built-in socket come the new patch.

That mechanic is changing as well.

If you farm keys, that's fine enough as I believe they'll be turned into the appropriate machines.

Keys won't drop after the next patch.

But it's worth going after the keys at least to be prepped and ready to go? I only have 1 of 4 right now...
You probably won't need the keys after the patch - the keywardens will simply drop machines. However, if you get keys now, you can make machines, run the ubers and collect the hellfire materials.
