I've had maybe 12 or so gifts drop. Got around 7 left. I'm about 650+ plevels into the season though. Anyhow, the impossible weapon to get seems to be the smk for me. Have spent tons in shards and db's all week at least, but no luck. Not that I really need it right now. My LON cold Garg build with harvester and furnace is pretty awesome. Pushed up to 69 and finished in 12 mins. For tx or 60 and under I put on Fierce loyalty and a soul to waste rune for soul harvest. Movement speed is awesome, feels like you have the speed pylon on for the whole rift.

Can't get the stupid shield to finish my invoker build to save my life. Probably dropped close to 3k shards on it and have a growing collection of ancients, but can't even get a regular one of the type I need.

Mine is fairly miserable aside from the affix. The affix is near perfect. And thorns was even the other secondary. But all the main affixes are trash.

With the belt that gives a bombard every 7 seconds, if you have the weapon cubed that gives a second bombard will it affect those received from the belt?

As I said earlier, the bombard belt is there strictly to proc the 4 piece.

But the answer to your question is yes.

It still doesn't beat a blood brother in the cube, though.

Is it just me or does everyone notice or experience this? It seems early in the season I had no problem finding somewhat rare items for the first two toons I created (wiz and dh). No problems finding Wand of Woh, Twisted Sword, Sceptre. Got ancient variants of each. DH, no problems getting ancient Manticore, Yang's, etc. Now with the WD, it seems impossible to find a damn SMK. Been farming all week for this thing. Not even looking for an ancient. Just one to cube with.

Right now, I gotta friend that's having a hard time finding a wand of woh. He started his wiz late. I have 3 ancient Woh's already, and the regular ones drop all the time for me. Just not when he's in my party, sadly.

For solo, the blood brother is King. I do like to run the bombard in group with double bombardment weapon since enemies tend to spread out.

nope. last season was close to p400 before I got my ancient yang and this one still lacking a couple of the legs to go with the set and have gotten more set pieces for other classes than for the one I'm playing.

Yeah, fortunately, I got a Blood Brother on my Monk, which was not terribly useful for the Monk; however, I ended up cubing it to use on my Crusader. The Thorns build is pretty ridiculous, but I definitely need the other pieces, and I also may take the advice mentioned earlier and drop my Follower. I definitely need to remove that sword from him that freezes enemies below a certain health as frozen enemies don't exactly proc thorns all that much.

What is a good thorns build and gear besides the Invoker set? I have the set, but haven't played with it much.

So, I was using this guide for a thorns build, but I got Hack on my Monk. So, that made me wonder... why use Pig Sticker over Hack? Sure, a thorns Crusader isn't that strong, but a 1.3 attack speed where you can deal up to 100% of your thorns damage every hit seems like a big advantage over slightly faster attack speed and up to a 30% boost against beasts/humans.

Pig Sticker has more affix slots and a faster attack speed (since it's a dagger, and it can actually roll +IAS). The way Hack procs is not intuitive, and less awesome than expected; it's also strictly single target.

Pig Sticker gives more desirable affixes, and attacks faster, which allows stricken to build up faster.

As for my progress, I finally got my second conquest and stash tab. I was starting to do bounties, and I was going to save the caches and do it that way, but during a bounty I got a goblin shrine, waited for the gilded baron to show up and killed him for ~64M gold. I had just shy of 7,000% GF on TX.

And I am taking a break.

I've got a pig sticker but using an ancient 1h flail as it has close to same attack speed and much better overall.

Went to do my set dungeon after first getting the set and promptly got spanked. Just saying it's a "set" dungeon definitely a misnomer.

Just went back this weekend and walked through it with ease, only had to actual rush a bit near. The end when I was trying to find the last 3 kills needed when I was down to final 30 seconds. That completed the last of the basic chapters and then plowed through the next couple as I had them already at 80% done.

Now just need to finish the stupid stuff for mandatory "fun" to finish off the stash tab.


Hopefully sooner than later blizz realizes how stupid this season stuff has gotten. Would be nice if at some point I got around to playing my non-seasonal characters again.

As long as you realize that your sheet damage means absolutely nothing with a thorns build.

You ideally want to roll weapon damage off of pig stickers if everything else fell into place.

Finally got my shot at the new patch. Trying a wizard for my first ever season. So far, game play is so different then the barb. still getting used to it.
