Sad... You can even buy back items from merchants after selling them with the cauldron. This is so f***ed up lol

That's what you consider a challenge? Taking a town portal to dump of some shit so you can carry more shit is a challenge? Sounds like they realized it was a stupid and tedious exercise to have to go to town just to sell the garbage you don't want and keep the stuff you do.

or you just carry town portals with you and TP every time you need to clear your inventory.

it IS tedium. there is NO challenge of making space when you have an infinite number of TPs.

why was IK not useful?

i never got into the endgame enough to get all those cool sets.

I believe the weapon with the IK set was a 2H Maul which I'm pretty sure only had a range of 1. I believe the longest range possible in D2 was 5, so full IK set becomes immediately poor for most classes because a 1 range weapon is too limiting.

also, the amount of duping and botting in Diablo 2 made IK trash to most players.

Yeah basically the weapon was underpowered for hell, and that's a pretty important piece for a barb. The set pieces minus it and the helm were pretty good, but overall like most sets it was better for looks than for killing.

They're gonna release keys in waves as they see fit, and there's no published date for new keys, nor for how many they'll invite. See this diablo.incgamers article that quotes a blizzard battle.net post (eh, couldn't find a direct link to it):

I played D2 back when it came out and liked it then. After seeing all the D3 beta footage I got a hankering to play it again, but just couldn't get into it. I tried 3 different classes but was just really bored and gave up by Act 2. D2 is just boring to me for some reason, I never understood how people have been playing it endlessly for a decade.

Quick question for people in the beta, does the cauldron give you the same price as vendors? Can you buy back for the same price as you sold it for (which would make it an infinite storage container)?

Yes it gives the same price as the vendor as far as I know, and I think you buy it back at the same price. However things don't stay flagged as being able to be bought back for forever, there is either a time limit or storage limit to how many things can sit in the "buy back space" from what I remember.
