to me, Diablo 3 is going to be about beating Inferno difficulty not completing the story although I will still be playing Normal solo just so I don't get the story spoiled to me

Yup, this and gear finding. I'm just hoping Inferno is really as hard as the development team says it is.

Couldn't get it to create a character for me last night... This morning I managed to log in and I had 4 characters that were created last night, LOL!

Played for about 15 minutes before work... Looks AWESOME!

I'm really surprised that the beta achievements like Betamaxxer don't carry over. And the FoS "One of the Chosen" only goes to those who participated in the closed beta.

I just need to power through to the Skeleton King since I've already played that section dozens of times. Then I can enjoy the new scenery.

I'm also glad that the level layouts appear to be much different. In the beta, it seemed like every run was mostly the same with only a few variations.

Got my Witchdoctor to lvl 15 after a few hours, fun stuff! Seems like no public games would take in more than 2 people even though 4 is the max I think. They might have limited the party number for a while to decrease lag or some such...I don't know. I could just be making all that up. Also I have yet to die, including the beta, pr0 ova here! Butcher almost got me just a bit ago though, really close.

If there are any other people willing to do a HC playthrough, I'm going to be doing a HC monk. I figure the healing ability will give me a better chance to survive, although each class has their own survival merits (frost nova, heavy armor, ranged, pets).

At work too. Finally got in around 1:30 am pt. Played for about an hour and it was well worth it, even though I had already ran through this same content many times in beta. Had to get up for work at 7 so a lil tired now.

Can't wait to get home!

They took hardcore video game and Diablo 2 players, had them play Inferno until they said it was very difficult, and then doubled the difficulty. They also stated that no one in-house was able to defeat it yet. So I'd say it's probably hard

That's cool, but I do feel like it could just be a matter of time (time -> gear that is). Like I remember Hell difficulty Ancients on D2 were a bitch and a half. At first. Then with a few more levels and gear under my belt it wasn't nearly so troublesome.

I guess I'm wondering how it's been balanced with regards to how player power will gradually inflate, but who knows.
