i also found out if you hold ctrl over an item on the ground you can see the stats.

Which I find weird because, in game, you can't see the actual stats of abilities. Meaning, that the spell you are casting, doesn't list the damage amount or range in the actual description. And the damage you actually DO is only listed if you do a critical.

Anyone know if there is a setting to change this? I played a buddies version for 2 hours yesterday and he didn't know either. We had to go online to look up abilities and the damage that they do.

because its not a total failure, the amazon reviewers much like the metacritic reviews have no idea what they are talking about and rate the game a 1 without even playing it or simply because they had some server issues on day 1

That's what I'm afraid of... 2 million is a lot of gold now but I'm willing to bet a year from now, 2 million is a drop in the bucket. There's just not enough gold sinks in the game for the amount of gold that's being dropped. There has to be a use for it. In the real world you have to buy gas, food, pay rent, etc just to keep prices stable. Can you imagine in the real world you didn't have to pay for any of that and money just drops out of thin air?

If there's no purpose to gold and it keeps droping, prices will continue to rise for the stuff that people do need.

While it's true there are not many gold sinks and gold keeps dropping, keep in mind this isn't WoW. Items are not soulbound and even gems can be recovered from items. So while the supply of gold keeps increasing the supply of items will also keep increasing. They should therefore cancel each other out in terms of inflation. Even if everyone has 10,000,000 gold no one is going to pay a million gold for a gem because there will be hundreds of thousands of them floating around for sale.

OOo nice I didn't know that. Good to know when your inventory is full but your party wants to continue zerging on through the bosses non-stop so I know what to drop and what to pick up.

Yea, you can enable feedback text for all damage, all healing, detailed tooltips and other stuff in the options. Highly recommended; also recommend turning on "elective" mode as well as turning off friends' achievement notifications lol.

you can also click ctrl over the spell to see the DETAIL INFO on them.

i was totally dissapointed in the beta... i bought the game anyway cause my friends were buying it... and now im loving it

if you were a d2 fan and you are like "this game has no customization... 1 skill per level suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks" and you are ready to drop it or dont even get it, then let me tell you that that changes when you are like lvl 20-25 when you learnt 15 skills with at least 2 runes for each (and some of the runes CHANGE THE SKILL, its not just +damage or +speed or -cooldown) but you only have room for 6, THEN there you have your customization

its quite fun actually, you just need to get over the initial frustration

and im saying this as an old diablo 1 and diablo 2 fanboy

No. It sounds like a few of us are wondering the exact opposite! We want to be able to click and never attack regardless of where we click.

How can you state that it's better when it appears that you haven't even played Diablo III. I'm basing this off the fact that your only comment is that reviews on Amazon say it is "a total failure."

You're wrong in that there won't be hundreds of thousands of the high end gems floating around for sale... I'm talking about the very top end. It's the end game items that will inflate. The mid game items will fall in value because people will outlive their usefulness.

When the majority of the playerbase reaches 60, all eyes will be on the endgame. Everyone will be vying for the best armor with the most slots and the best gem to slot them with. They'll be willing to pay another 10 million gold just to get +1 more dex on an armor while right now they're only willing to pay say 100k just because the economy is still fresh, new and not riddled with gold.

I've tried holding down control/shift/alt and it doesn't seem to change the info it tells me. It still just lists damage of skills as a percent of my base. Does it give you actual number ranges say 2400-3000 damage? I have the advanced tooltips option set.

I got the game over the weekend.. about level 15 monk now. Utilizing AH for my gear. I don't really have to stress over things and what not.. just smash smash mash and I'm having fun. That's what matters in the end I guess

Haven't tried anything multiplayer yet though. One day.

also, the 15% fee is a pretty stiff gold sink as well.
