What is this firebird? Are you talking about the single bat with the fire rune or are you talking about the firebomb?

Bat/bird, fucking fly thing of death that is OP but also hard as fuck to aim. (It definitely doesn't always go towards the enemy I click on)

I was doing good leveling my DH today (around middle of NM) til a thunderstorm knocked out my internet. Oh and it also struck my HVAC unit outside and set fire to it and a tiny part of the house lol. I got an awesome response from the fire dept though, so it coulda been worse. Looks like I won't be hitting up Inferno with her his week though.

I started out as a wizard, got to A2 NM, but I didn't really like how it played. Monk was fun til inferno, and I'm really liking DH so far.

DH is fun but is even more of a glass cannon then the wiz

both my wiz and DH are ~55 in Hell, wiz can actually get hit by random things a few times, DH dies when mobs look at him

If there are bots then they're in the general chat. They spam occasionally about selling gold.

But, you're not going to notice bots... Bots are going to do private games, if they exist. Public games do not do any favors for bots. (Less MF, for one)

I doubt bots exist at this point anyway. (Only because in D2 it was so easy to tele everywhere)

Someone already made a bot and is selling it for 2 million gold that requires a key that he will generate for you. I have read about that one. It farms the first boss in act 4.

Only 2 million gold? Sounds like a hack waiting to happen, no way that's legit

Cleared A2 Inferno on my Barb and made it through A3, but A3 was horrible. A2 I actually managed to do pretty well in, changed my build up a bit and got a new weapon and pants; ended up one-shotting Belial with a 5 stack of valor so was kind of hoping I was over the hump, lol.

On the ramparts trying to light the torches I ran into a a champion pack and an elite pack of those guys who look like big "Fallen" and swing their 2h axe overhead and they annihilated me lol. I noticed from A2 to A3 it feels like the 'trash' mobs do way more damage, easily 4-5k a swing.

I like Barb, but it is quite difficult to try and balance survivability with damage output especially when the former takes such specific, expensive gear. And I don't like how it feels like everyone else is so far ahead of you in terms of output without relying on Wrath and Earthquake.

In A3 I was able to slowly progress and kill a few champs/elites (many were just unmanageable though) until I had to get through the 'breach' in the keep. Which was brutal, took me three full repairs to get through there on top of a lot of 'dragging' elites out of the way because I had no chance against them. Then I finally got to Ghom and brickwall. I'd run up to swing at him and lose half my health just from the shit he leaves on the ground. My wizard friend eventually carried me through it by kiting Ghom around and I pretty much just kept the slimes off him. Siegebreaker Assault Beast was pretty silly as well, essentially I ran in circles while Tyrael and my enchantress killed him.

Barb has potential, I think it's just a far more severe gear check than it is for 'all dps' classes.

Also if anyone's come across them, I'm interested in buying Plans: Helm of Command for Blacksmithing or any Tomes of Blacksmithing you've got laying around.

You killed him in one hit?

the Auction House is still very, very random for prices. you can pick up things dirt cheap and sell them for a fist full of cash, and then some days you cant give away decent items. wtf.

I have a family member who is playing and out of work (his choice, lucky bastard haha), but watches the AH. According to him, and based off WoW, Monday seem to be the best days for buying as they have cheapest prices usually.

Is Inferno fun? My WD is only lvl 52 and in Hell, and so far it's not that bad. Challenging but not maddening. Some of the posts I see about Inferno scare me though. I'm wondering if these people are that terrible of players or if it really is that hard. Or maybe a little of both...

Been playing a witch doctor. Easily went through the first two acts in normal. Already level 22... Barely played at all. I've been rushing through all the places, only killing shit when necessary and I'm already leveling super fast.

The +30 intel from each enemy spell (stacks 5 times) + fire bird (single firebird that does 250%+ of your weapon damage) is mega OP. I do 300+ damage on that shit. Takes out almost everything in one hit. Champions are a joke. Run, fire, run, fire... stutter step micro the whole way.

With my monk that I had before... it wasn't possible to do that kind of shit. I might have been able to kill stuff pretty easily, but I had to do it melee... With the WD, I can run and shoot... and pray that I kill shit. And usually I do, I've seen more 7+ killed at once stuff than ever before. I think one of my spells killed over 20 things at once. It was ridiculous. The damn spell travels a ridiculous 40 yards.

Tell me how OP anything is with the WD once you've past Act 3 hell.

It really is that hard. Beyond hard, and you can't level up past 60 to gain better stats.

It's all about getting good enough equipment to do Inferno as Inferno is not part of the standard progression. Normal --> Nightmare --> Hell -----------------------------> Inferno.

Inferno is just ridiculous. I've been doing a shit ton of butcher runs in public games with some pretty stacked players and there's still trouble. Especially bosses who have invulnerable minions with mortar, plague, molten, and all that shit. But the drops are also as ridiculous when you get level 5 valor going for the warden and butcher. Last night one of the guys I was with found tals armor. I grabbed 3 legendaries just over the weekend and a couple mil from selling yellows on the AH. Not bad.

Edit: Trying to get myself stacked enough to move on from A1 in Inferno.... I've made it to A2, but haven't even attempted it.

I was just saying there was one out there. The guy was only charging the low price because he put keys in. Gold was about 22 a million so you were paying a decent price when he put this out there.

I went through Act 1 Inferno on my WD in about two hours and killed every special pack I came across without hesitation. Zombie Bears destroyed everything.

Act 2 is totally different.

Inferno is fun in act 1 for me, act 2 feels like I'm getting raped by a giant sandpaper-wrapped dildo. So I've been sticking to act 1 farming and leveling alts.

Cleared A2 inferno on my monk. It's pretty brutal, and you just have to accept that some champion/elite pack combos are not beatable. You have to suck it up and skip, or reload the map.

The worst for me are invulnerable minions. You can't really tank their damage so you're kiting them, while somehow trying to damage the non-immune champ. Almost impossible to survive and do enough damage before they enrage.

Vortex + shit on the ground is also very, very difficult. They suck you in and you just die to a couple of ticks of plague/desecration.

How much do you make doing butcher runs. I've only played solo so far. All this talk has piqued my interest in maybe joining some public games.

I've found the easiest way for invulns (if you're in a group) is to have someone distract the minions while the other 3 kill the boss. Yea, you need someone who's jacked enough to run around and tank minion hits and another guy to tank the boss, but it's not too bad once you get that part figured out. If you're whole party is running around like a bunch of idiots it's much more difficult to take him down.

It's a matter of luck more than anything else. I've gone "act 1 runs" practically (halls of agony -> warden -> butcher -> plains of misery -> wherever) and ended up with 25+ rares and not really had a single good one. On the other hand just a few days ago I did Halls/Warden/Butcher and ended up with a pair of monk pants that sold for 1.9M along with plenty of other solid rares selling for a few hundred thousand up to a million (on different runs that is).

You can definitely find good items there, but just like most everywhere else you need some good luck on the random mods.

What you won't really find in A1 are weapons however (or I havent yet at least). The base damage on the weapons available in A1 compounded with the lower item level enchants means that they max out relatively low.
