I would really like to see gear sets added to the game. I like to take an elite pack down to 10% with my regular gear then switch to my 200+% mf gear for the kill...which could be eased by such a change.

doubt they will, vapor drops on gear swap because they dont want people swaping to MF gear + buff right when killing things

i read this summary of a interview with gold botter

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NUQTATy5dc

Some key points (this video is terrible so I think someone might appreciate it):

•Farms using 100 accounts

•Writes scripts for his own bots, and manages the accounts to run them

•Each account can be on America and EU at the same time, doubling each accounts effectiveness

•Approx. 300k gold for each account per hour

•Gold prices: $12 US for 1 million, gold prices dropped by half in one day and continue to drop

•Inflation is going to start getting outrageous if Blizzard does nothing to curb him and his kind

•Blizzard needs to raise money sink prices to compensate

•Approx. 10,000 accounts currently in use farming gold

•Bots run 24h a day

•Accounts are never banned, Warden cannot see the bots and likely will not for 3-4 months he figures

•People (farmers) are saving up tons and tons of gold for the day RMAH comes in ("people will sells billions of gold, undercutting, especially the Chinese")

•If the farmer can't make enough money to live off of, then the game has failed in his eyes, because then the game has been ruined for everyone because of inflation

•Saving money for RMAH with a few others, selling some gold on grey market for little bits of money

•Approx. $6000 gold investment for the accounts

•Some farmers, but not him and his guys, use hacked and phished accounts ("very illegal")

•"mostly hacking and carding" keep your PAYPAL AND EMAIL SAFE WITH DIFFERENT PASSWORDS FROM ANYTHING

•bug in Blizzard store for EU (not specific on details)

•accounts are bought with stolen credit card #'s often (he only buys fresh CD keys however, legitimately)

•account hacking on Blizzard forum that was big issue a week or so ago - your computers are not being hacked, they hack FANSITES AND TEST ALL EMAIL AND PASS WORD COMBOS IN GAME (keep your D3 pass different than anything) - process is called 'comboing' - programs can create 'combo lists' with data that is hacked from other sites

•10 million email/passwords - only 1-10% may actually log in, but that is still a great number of accounts

•targeted sites: Diablo fan websites, Blizzard-related sites such as MMO-Champ "it's easy"

•forums are being compromised OVER AND OVER AGAIN - Paypal, banks, Facebook accounts may be in risk because of this behavior, people with combo lists (see above) will attempt to gain access to a wide swath of sites

•Cannot get anything out of the Blizzard website "they are bulletproof, logically"

•what Blizz can do - "increase sinks and prevent botters" "fix farming spots and exploits"

•Blizz is aware of all exploits and farming locations "it's all over Youtube!"

•what if you get banned - "if we made profit, just buy new accounts and fix the problems [that got us banned]"

•reiterates that there are idiots who will get caught by Warden, but at the moment he is undetectable with a new method that Warden cannot see at the moment

well i'm glad i didnt quit my job in hopes of making it big in diablo farming.

Anubis: I was unaware that valor dropped when I switched gear. I thought it was only when switching specs. I must not be paying enough attention.

I really dont understand your point of view on the gear switching Kalmah. You're afraid its making the game too easy or something? Gear switching is done immediately already, there is no delay. This would just save me from clicking on 10 different items in my inventory. I would have to click on only 1 thing.

It's not a mechanic of fun, if they do this they might as well just auto add up your MF gear in your inventory and stash then apply it without wearing it to reduce the tediousness of constantly clicking the switch gear button.

I'm looking at it from a perspective of realism as well. Who's going to switch gear in the middle of a battle and how does it happen instantly? The game isn't clearly about realism though so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I guess a dark and gritty atmosphere with emphasis on realism is what I wanted D3 to be. That feature would just take it away even further.

What should I do with all of the gear I find? I've been trying to use the Auction House, but nothing sells (i'll post 10 rare finds and will sell one). I start the bid at the merchant price and then the buyout really reasonably (I sell level 25 rare things for like 1000 gold) and nothing sells.

This is pretty early level stuff mind you. I just started Nightmare. Should I just sell the rare stuff to the merchants?

it's probably junk gear so no one is buying it. remember, someone else has to have a need to use it, you can't just sell everything you don't want

It is certainly junk gear to higher level people, but some of it is pretty good stuff for people working on normal.

In any case, do you just sell it to the merchants if it doesn't sell on the AH?

I usually sell it to merchants. Even rares I get I'm just NPCing.. though sometimes I'll have it broken down by the blacksmith for crafting supplies.

The gold sinks would need to be appropriate for the level that they're expected. I certainly don't have nearly as much gold as others in this thread, and I'd be less than pleased if my repairs (or something like that) suddenly shot up in price.

botters have already ruined the rmaa. Thats the main reason why it will fail. It just wont be worth the time to sell anything unless you bot 24/7. I hope blizzard pulls their heads out of the sand and does something about botters. Though it's very much doubtful that will ever happen

Hope this is fake, but I doubt it.

Hacked items, yaaaaay....

*Edit* Apparently the pic is real but the items aren't. It's just a line of text you can use to display fake items. Whew...

Did all those assholes really think they'd recoup 6 grand AND make a profit? Did it not occur to them other people would be botting and selling their gold?

Well, at $12/million, you need to sell 500 million gold. If you can farm 300k/hr/account, it only takes ~17 hours to farm that 500 million gold with 100 accounts. So, if you make it a week before all 100 of your accounts have been banned, that's just over 5 billion gold. If you sell it all at $10/million, you'll have made a profit of $44000 in that week.

Not bad for an investment of $6k.
