Magic find does not mean more loot drops, it means more of the loot you find is magical. It essentially modifies the distribution of rarity.

For instance, if you go on a run with 0% magic find and find 100 pieces of equipment (I don't think MF has any effect on potions/gold), let's say you get 70 grey/white pieces, 20 magic pieces, 9 rares, and 1 legendary.

Now if you were to do that same run with 100% magic find, the distribution would be closer to ~42 white/grey, 40 magic (up 100%), 16 rares (up ~80%), ~1.7 (up ~70%) legendary. Those drop values are highly overstated, but you get the idea.

I would suspect it diminishes though the same way it does in D2, which means your MF% is only 'true' for terms of actual magic find. So if you have 500% magic find you should find 5x as many magic items; however you may only get, say, 300% more rares, 200% more set items, and 150% more legendaries.

Essentially it's a stat for the 'long term' if you will because you have to remember that even if you have an effective 300% increase in legendary drops, that probably still just means you're getting .015 legendaries instead of .005. So you probably won't see immediate returns with the exception of noticing more blues and yellows in all likelihood.

the ONLY place i notice game lag where the video literally cant keep up is in act 3 on the bridge

I've only had the game drop to 2 FPS once, and it was in the oddest spot. I was on the achievement window!

I also play with a SSD (old Intel X25-M G2), and have no real problems other than the bug that I experienced above. I am using a bit of overkill with a GTX 680 at 1080p.

Monk

18k dps, 28k health, 850+ resists and ~ 1,000 LoH

Is there ever an issue with too much resists? IGN has a Diablo wiki, and people can link their builds and talk strategy in regard to gearing and such. I was reading one that they put on the front page of the PC section that was made by a Wizard that cleared everything on Inferno. They had this formula that would tell you if you had too much resists for your health pool. I forget what the formula was, but the guy remarked that even he was over the recommended resist amount based on it.

you want your armor% and resist% to be approximately equal so that physical dmg mitigation is maxed out. this only applies for melee though.

my suggestion to you would be to find a - req weapon at a range of 55ish.

you'll get bows 400-500ish range.

i have a lvl 49 bow that's 48x.x dps or 51X.

Oh did they change that? I think I'm in favor, they did the same thing with instances in WoW. Lesser of two evils for the most part, and now I'll feel less compelled to run crap like treasure goblins instead of actually playing the game lol.

So, I guess there is no way to cash out in the RMAH? I guess it all just goes on your battle.net account. I was thinking you could actually get the money out of it but looks like youll only be able to spend it on blizzard junk?

I'm at work losing RMAH $s as time goes by

oh well, interesting to see that people would rather spend money on stuff than being able to play a game that isn't that hard (more gear check than skill check)

guess there is a skill to understanding the game economy and how to to use AH with its 10 item limit though

im at work too but i brought my lappy. here's an example, a 1100 dps blue bow with no stats, just the dps...25 bucks (and several are listed as sold in that same area, just blue bows with no stats). so my bow is probably worth at least 50 on its own. my bow is a yellow with ~1025 dps, socket, about 100 dexterity and 200 int (which gives resists). and my andariels helmet...there are a few on there the lowest is 25 bucks so i guess my helm is worth at least that.

im sure the prices will start getting lower quick but stuff is clearly selling...and this is crazy.

World of Warcraft has a different reason for this though. At least from what I know, in Diablo III, when you log out of a game, your current session is closed. If you log back in, all your maps will be regenerated... essentially, you're in a new "instance." In WoW, you have to wait... 15 minutes (or so) for the dungeon to naturally reset or you can manually do it (this was added in later).

In short, WoW added this feature, because instances were persistent even if no one was in them. At least from what I remember, Diablo III is not this way. Chances are that this is only to combat people trying to respawn things like treasure goblins. In WoW, they were trying to lessen the strain on the instance servers.

EDIT:

I like how my "In short..." paragraph is about as long as the other one.

Clearly you guys aren't aware of just how much cash is poured into the likes of Farmville and Maple Story and League of Legends every day.

People love buying fake shit lol.

I cant tell if these new developments have increased or decreased my desire to play this game. Everything I do in the game now will be equivalent to a dollar value. Its like work. And I already work 8 hours a day sittin on my ass.

But then again that would be awesome to find that one drop that instantly means you're 250 bucks richer. Kinda cool, I've never experienced something like this before in a game.
