I'm sure its in their terms of use to just change the values after people have used REAL money to buy items in their current state. But man if I spent any real money on an IAS item and the nerf-bat is retroactive I would be livid.

Although any informed gamer would probably avoided investing in IAS gear being aware of this nerf.

If they don't retroactively nerf though imagine how insane the prices would be for older gear with high IAS.

Unless I am missing something they could have easily just put diminishing returns on ias instead of blowing up gear people might have bought.

Talking about say if you were to buy from a website. 4.55 USD per Million~

I noticed that when I got random popup of friend requests from gold selling sites. It actually tempted me because items are still selling as if it's $10/mill. I would buy the gold, buy expensive items and put it in the RMAH.

But I have a day job and this is below me. Too much work for too little payoff.

If they're not going to retroactively buff my legendaries, then they shouldn't retroactively nerf my ias gear.. shoot!!

Yes, but that is the opposite scenario. If they didnt retroactively nerf ias, think about what would happen....

Youd now have old ias gear sold for tons of cash because new stuff is severely nerfed. It wouldnt make the old ias stuff go away, it would make it severely sought after and only the wealthy elite players would own it. You now have an item mod affecting economy.

The past is the best predictor of the future when it comes to nerf/buff rumors. Look at DII items. They never retroactively nerf old gear, they simply modify core programing behind the gear sets.

So, I would own some pretty valuable ias gear then. That's my whole point. This screws me over with the current equipment I own.

What's the big deal with IAS anyhow? What's the major beef with it?

See Inferno is already hard as it is. Why do we want them to nerf gear that can help us get through it?

If I recall correctly, we knew the IAS stuff was gonna get reduced in effectiveness prior to RMAH going online, but what if we didn't? Or what if they do it to something else? I would hate (read: kill everyone) if I paid real money for a really good item, and they reduced how good it was afterward, and I couldn't sell if for anything anymore.

What they should do is to not retroactively nerf only the items purchased from the RMAH but instead place an account bound lock on it. That way, at least those who plunked money on it won't feel like shit and the value of the IAS items will naturally decline over time anyway due to expansions and better gear and they won't be able to resell it.

This is prob too much work for Bliz but they created this problem so they should fix it.

Has anyone bought anything with real money on the AH yet? I'm asking because I would like to laugh at you.

Seriously, what the hell is the point of buying items with real money for a game like Diablo 3. It's not like that item is going to give you an edge over anything or anybody, the game is cooperative. On top of that, the game is getting quite repetitive.

Until whatever changes they make actually go live, I wouldn't put any stock in any of what's being said.

As much as I would prefer they not simply make a 'hidden' mod to ASPD, it would definitely curtail a great deal of complaining. I think nerfing it is not a bad idea though; anything that's got the 'go to' value it has now probably merits being toned down.

They shouldn't fix crap with ias. Does anyone really feel OP in Inferno?

This is the kicker... IAS not nerfed for quivers for DH's that are the only class remotely close to being OP. They're only OP relative to the other classes.

Any real money that I spend will have came from me selling something in the RMAH. I don't plan on adding any funds to this game.

You underestimate just how much money some people make. And even then, I don't make that much but I would consider myself able to make more money in an hour than I can make gold. Under that reasoning it would actually be more efficient for me to work and then purchase gold to get the items I want.

Personally I'd rather play the game, but for anyone pulling in even just a moderate salary who has a finite amount of time to play, I can certainly understand why they purchase virtual items.

I understand some people have money to throw around, but I find it rather pointless to spend money in this game. Sure, with other games where there is a competitive factor involved, I can see why people would pay money to give them the edge. But in Diablo 3, there's no point to buying items, when the point playing the game is to get better loot. So you spend a lot of money to make your Monk stronger, then what--so you can repeat Inferno mode over and over?
