I think he was referring to the 100% chance is only for lvl 60 legendaries. Otherwise its a < 1% chance on any other level 60 item (magic or rare)

Already have, and only died 3 times. Normally it took close to 10-12 deaths.

Again I don't see that big a deal on repair bills. Granted my style is all about survival > killing, and my DPS is usually just big enough to beat enrages, with most my stats going survival.

You went through all of Act 2 and died only three times? Congrats.

It is not based on item level, but actual level requirement as to what you get. A level 49 requirement, but level 50 item level item will net Nightmare mats, while a level 50 item with an item level of 50 will net Hell mats. Same with Inferno. Anything below level 60 requirement (with lower requirement stat considered) will DE for Hell mats.

Well, I had a chance to try out the patch. DPS went from 74k to 60k which wasn't as big of a drop as I thought. Seems like more rares drop than normal but most are low level useless rares.

Was able to kill Siegebreaker even with reflect by just pacing my DPS and making sure he dies in under 2 minutes. Killed about 10 elites before seigebreaker and it seemed every elite dropped 1-4 rares.

Overall, the patch doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be. The repair costs are higher, yeah, but only really if you die. I think I paid about 7k per death.

Anyone playing a monk in inferno?

I'm currently rolling with 45khp\900 Resist\28% Block\38% dodge\6.5k armor\1k LOH..and the kicker..6.5k DPS.

My main 1h weapon is a 530dps..

I don't think I can give up having a shield..with with a 1k dps weapon I can get close to 15k..but at the sacrifice of 150 vitality...and the block of the shield...

you have too much health, drop some health in favor of dex. i have 7k armor and 720 resists w/ 10k dps on character stat sheet and i can survive almost anything except elite golgors/phasebeasts w/ nasty affixes like invuln + molten.

my main 1h weapon is 650dps, i run with 1500LoH but can easily do it with half that.

Guess it's another reason to suck as melee... I pay about 7k in repairs on the butcher run (no deaths) just on natural degradation. :\

so last night i did 3 butcher runs, total of 4 deaths, 22k in repair bills, one of them was over 10k and i didnt even die during the run, its pretty fing stupid

got about 16 yellows per run and too many blues to remember, 99% of them were crap and just got vendored/salvaged most had such bad stat combos giving them away would have been worth it

800 DPS wand with 250+ str and 250+ Dex /facepalm

OR worse when you FINALLY get a lvl 63 rare and it has WORSE damage than a nightmare act4 lvl weap(whatever level those are).
It was a one handed mighty weapon with a godly 890 LoH, 140 str, 90 vit a FREAKING wimpy 350 damage rating. I was a little miffed.
I have a double whirlwind barb that loves crit and LoH, but this was slap to the face. Just for fun I equipped it and damage went from 12k down to 4k. Ouch.

As for survivability goes, I noticed a slight improvement in Act 2. Solo, I can do it, but the grouped games I get nailed pretty good. My life is holding me back.
I have 925 res on average, 9k armor, 12k damage but 27k health. I need different gear. AH is jacked with prices and it seems trading is too damn risky or full of the same old D2 shady trading tricks (closing window in the middle of a trade, etc).
Does ATOT have a network of traders yet?

I think I can sacrifice 150 vitality for pure DPS at this point..

1 Vit=what like 35hp?

My shield can be all Dex and some block...I already have close to 900 resist without it..

patch killed my dh. starting a barb, and it's looking very promising. currently lvl 43, 600 dps, 400 loh, 16k life. tanks well, but takes forever to kill shit... if anyone has a nice reduced level req 1h wep for trade, please let me know! pleasejason#1350

what act are you trying to do?

pre-1.03, i was clearing act 2, 5 nv stacks and zultan kulle / belial in 40 minutes without dying. 6k armor, 700 resists, 9k dps. FoT w/ thunderclap, mystic ally (either one will do, air is the best consistent dps), sweeping winds, serenity and breath of heaven w/ 15% dmg. using STI, resolve, and OwE as passives.

post 1.03, i run the same build and cleared act3 from start to tower level 1 in 2.5 hours, killing every elite on the way. died 10 times because i didnt give up on a pack of invulnerable molten horde golgors in arreat crater.

Holy crap it looks like you have sacrificed far too much DPS for mitigation. Are you getting items w/o dex or do you have a low weapon?

I'm sitting around 17K DPS with 730 resists and 5K armor. When I had 400 resist I was at like 14K DPS.

for 600k you can get a decent LoH sword in the 650dps range, that will boost your dps by about 1.5k. more if you can find one with dex on it. stack more dex, because it counts as armor, dodge, and dps.

Grab a 8-900 dps weapon with no stats on it, maybe life steal or a socket for LoH gem. LoH is nice and all but not really necessary, you need some form of sustained healing (and maybe not much of that now).

Since your dps is so low you think you need the LoH. If you aren't killing simple white mobs in 3-4 hits your dps is probably low, that's a good yardstick for all acts/levels until about act 2-3 inferno.

i prefer not to rely on spirit using abilities for healing, as that can leave you in situations where you need an offensive ability but have run out of spirit due to healing.

Should be able to add an additional 200-250 dex at the sacrifice of maybe 100 vitality..

if you stack enough of it, you can get incredible sustainability. something like LtK w/ 150+ LpSS will give you 4.5k per kick, and will get mobs off of you to boot. or spam mantra of whatever and get 7.5k on cast. but the problem is you need a lot of it for it to work, and you need to give up a passive for transcendence unless you get maxed out LpSS rolls on your head/fists (assuming u dual wield).

all in all, LoH is just better because you can get boatloads of it from a socket and jewelry. both my rings and amulet give me 1000LoH, with a smattering of stats like dex, vit, and resist.

I have seen some interesting crit/LpSS builds that use spirit generators that give bonus spirit. Then dumping all that spirit into the bell attack (high cost) to give some really high sustained healing.
