No dex, missing a primary stat is pretty much a deal breaker. Starter monk gear would look likeIs there a market for a shoulder drop I got?
+70 all resists
+30 Poison resist
+68 VIT~
And some +life regen.
Seems pretty good for a monk with high poison resist stacking.

50 vit
25 random resist

So Ghom the larder....wtf.
Belial..on inferno..seriously..No problem.
Ghom? Face stomps me..I think after kiting him around for awhile I had him at "maybe" 45% hp.
18k dps at moment..I'm thinking I need to dual wield and burst him down more than have a shield.
For all the Monk users that want gear faster (don't know if that has been posted here or not, and I don't think it is patched):
Get a group of elites and dps them down evenly, when all three are below 30%, kill one with Exploding Palm and the Impending Doom rune.
You get 3 times as many rares. Enjoy. This works best with melee ones.
You also get faster NV stacks, up to as many uniques you kill with the final blow. This can work with other classes that can finish off more than one elite at a time that is the LAST to die in the set, it is just a little harder.
how are you people with such low dps doing well on inferno? My barb was in the mid twenties, with 30k life, 400+ resists all, and ANY creature on Act II one hits me. Literally any of them. That first part where you're in the canyon, I died 5 times trying to get out of it.

I keep taking several days off from this game and thinking "it can't be as bad as I thought it was" and then going back and rage quitting first time I play. Last night I was trying to do my ~115th butcher run, I got 5 neph, and I start lag skipping around the screen. Again, with 110ms lag. I'm trying to kite, instead it lags, and when it clears I'm surrounded by creatures picking apart my corpse. Happens 3 more times, I have to repair my gear twice, and end up losing 30k on the butcher run. What a crock of shit. What was the logic these retards had when designing this game:
A) Force people to farm act I inferno over and over and over until it sucks the joy out of the game
B) Punish them by having them have to pay awful repair fees on their gear when they get lag killed, or murdered by one-hit enemies, despite having 400+ resists
C) Player gets frustrated and either A) Quits, or B) Goes to RMAH since they can't save up any gold for AH on account of repair costs.
So the game basically was created to funnel money through RMAH and capitalize on their fee they take out?

why are you even kiting the butcher ? you should be able to just tank and spank.
You may need to boost your Resist up if you can't stand in the fire and just tank and spank away. That and change up some skill talents too.

As I've been playing Diablo III, one thing that I noticed is that the music isn't very good. I'm not really going to go into some long, inane rant over it, but given that game music usually helps me enjoy a game more, I wouldn't mind some better music. Although, I think the problem is more or less with the lack of different music. For example, I think the boss theme is interesting (has a lot of good percussion), but it's rarely played (for obvious reasons). The rest of the themes are pretty much forgettable.
Ahh if only I could mod in FF6 music; fanfare when you kill a boss would be fun. I guess I need to wait for Torchlight II to be able to do that (since it allows modding).

You can try other alternatives:
Just more proof that Skill > gear.
This gap narrows in Inferno.
Really? Because I found skill helps far more in Inferno than gear. You need a base gear level, but that is a given for any game.
Just because the gear makes something "easier" doesn't change that skill would make it even easier.
Someone is amazed that someone clears Inferno content with less gear than them - what does that say?

If you are in act IV. Ok. I'll believe you. There are road blocks and enrage timers that all the skill in the world will prevent you from beating with your current DPS.
This much is true.
Now, of course you are right. I am simply saying whatever gap there was between skill and gear begins to narrow. Hell IV vs Act 1 Inferno. The narrowing begins.
Skill plays a lot in beating enrage timers. Positioning of player and enemy, as well as knowing enemy cool down timers will help you both survive and kill. A lot of players clamor on about how they have 20 or 30k dps and can't beat enrage lol. If you aren't actively attacking your dps reduces drastically.
