Oh for the love of.........I was on the zoltan kulle quest and had to get one more vial of his blood...I switched quests and did a few butcher runs today...then I went back and I have to start the quest over, which I expected...what I didn't is that it erased me having found any way point past the oasis. Fuck that.
exquisite essence you can sell. They sell in under 5 minutes for me, and the price keeps rising.
For $0.25/each when you can get one for 1500-ish gold on the GAH? Must try again...
my brother and i are absolutely blowing things up in nightmare - i'm a 51barb and he's a 49 monk in act4. man, this is what diablo is all about. can't wait to get to hell and then inferno where it'll get really interesting!!
it's always amazing how much a difference good gear makes. for a while i was stuck with ~80-90dps weapons, then i got to ~120, and now i'm at 170 (total 2500dps after strength bonuses) and wow. my barb went from suck to god.
and call of the ancients is freakin awesome. epic spell.

We are not satisfied with breaking launch records; we want people to continue playing and enjoying Blizzard games for a very long time.
Expected public relation post, but appreciated nonetheless I guess.
I was scratching my head at that part however:
They are not satisfied with breaking launch records... wait, what? Why wouldn't they? Does saying that make them look virtuous or something? There's nothing wrong in saying that you are satisfied with breaking launch records... no? I don't get why they tell us they don't but anyway, yeah... public relations, very politically-correct approach.
I think hes talking about the GAH... I find it hard to believe anyone would pay 25 cents each for inferno materials...

you should have poopsocked.I was stacking and going for a butcher run solo yesterday. Got NV stacked to 5 and went to town, had to take a b-room break. Came back a few minutes later, my session was disconnected. At this point I turned off the game. Not even worth stacking again to find endless piles of junk to peddle at the merchant. /rant

yeah, that's what happened to me in A2 sort of. I just had one piece of the zoltan kulle quest to go (vault of the assassin). I did a couple butcher runs, then went back tot he quest. I forgot it resets you. What I don't get is why it erases the way point I found. So now I'm stuck all the way back in the oasis. I have to go through the aqueducts, pull the levers, go through the hidden passage, get back to the wastelands or whatever it is, find the way point, and go through the two dungeons to find his blood. Honestly I think I'd rather quit the game at this point.
I think Blizzard's biggest error with this game was not accounting for the aging of the population that played D2. We make up a majority of the purchasers of D3 I'd bet, or at least close to it. How old were most of those people when they played D2? 13-25ish? Those same people are now 24-36, we want more in depth game play, and a more polished product. Instead we got Yahtzee: Diablo edition.
Waypoints are only saved after a quest is complete. That way if you wanted to go back to do a quest again after completetion later, you couldn't just waypoint your way to the end. But start at the end of the previous quest.
And maybe their target area wasn't the people who played D2 in their prime gaming days? Maybe their target was the CoD infested age group? Because that isn't true. I have seen so many people IRL on the forums, and on other forums that have never played D2, but played D3. And they actually have more complaints, because they don't like the carrot on the stick just play for loot games that RPG endgames normally are, and didn't realize it kept to a lot of the D2 forumula of always going to a higher difficulty.
I personally really enjoyed the game when I played it. I had more fun than D2 quite honestly. Though that is my opinion.
Only thing I really miss of D2 was its music, in the first act. LOVED it.
difference between D2 and D3 - in D2, you could finish the highest difficulty with gear you found off the floor. in D3, you can't even finish the first act of the highest difficulty unless you hit the AH or get extremely lucky with drops.
What is currently the best class for end-game (act 3/4 inferno)? I went all out on my last character (Demon Hunter) because I thought it would be my all time main and the best class, along with my best chance to actually beat inferno. It didn't work out though. Act 3 inferno made all my 31k life, 3k+ armor, and 750+ all resists seem completely worthless, like they didn't have any effect at all. So at the moment I'm trying to sell most of my DH equip.
From what I've seen Monks seem to be the hardest bunch to kill, perhaps they don't dish out as much damage as some other classes, but if they don't die, then it doesn't really matter how much damage they do, as long as it's not crazy low. Then again, I know nothing about the Monk class.
I digress. The question remains, what's the best end-game D3 class at the moment? I'm guessing it's Monk despite not knowing anything about the class, just based on what i've seen.
Selling my DH's equip may net me 30+ million gold, more around 40mill if I'm really lucky. I was thinking about investing that into a Monk. I don't want inferno to seem like a 13000ft un-scalable mountain (metaphors, yo!) any longer. Inferno act 3/4 haunts my dreams.
