Sold my IK Gloves (190 Str/65 All Resist/9% CC/Regen/% Reduce to melee) for 32M and immediately got another IK Gloves (200 Int/10% CC) thinking a wiz may want it, I put it up for 4m bid.

I got a imba shoulders (245 Str/61 All Resist/100 Vit/8% Life) trying to sell it at 55m, no luck yet though.

Currently at pLvl 36 and getting bored quickly.

where are you farming and what is your MF at to find these items?

I'm farming act 3 with 210% Base MF. I got a bulkathos sword earlier, could have been godlike if it had a socket.

Except that was only true up until a recent patch. Unless im mistaken, I am fairly certain they stated that mf now impacts quality of drops as well, that was a few patches ago. The post you linked to was fairly old. That is outdated info.... I could be wrong but I am fairly sure MF does in fact impact drop quality.

Anyways, im not getting jack shit for items/item quality having no mf, so I might as well change something and hope for the best.... This games coding makes me cringe. Since I am a fellow programer and designer in some sense, its hard to take when you know you could do it better yourself.... I guess they never played Diablo1 or 2.

I dont know man. I run jack shit for MF. The only MF I have is from NV and Paragon levels.

My Legendary finds have been outstanding since patch.

Maybe I am just getting SUPERB stat rolls, or the MF doesn’t do anything at all with stat rolls…?

you're getting lucky since you're getting legendaries to begin with.

1. stone gaunts(glove) - vendored
2. ivory tower(shield) - salvaged
3. don't remember(gloves I think) - salvaged
4. dead mans(quiver) - 10m
5. andy visage(helm) - 5m
6. dead mans(quiver) - 55m
7. sever(sword) - 350k
8. IK set (gloves) - $7
9. Sledge of agksdghgk(2h mace) - salvaged
10. hellrack (2h xbow) - salvaged

besides the quiver, I have yet to find any rares or legendaries that netted me over 10m

you've found stuff that you can actually sell. I've found diddily squat (though i've been farming act 2 instead of 3 since its faster).

So last night, Alkaizerx started streaming on twitch, he's the world highest lvled paragon character. Started the stream at lvl 96, ended at 98.He's going for 100 today.

I watched to see what he does and I still have absolutely no clue how he's getting experience so fast but he is fast. He only picks up legendaries and appear to drop elite packs in 5-10 secs.

nah, he doesn't do bosses, he pretty much loads the kill azmodan quest to get all the waypoints and clears most of the maps. Each run takes him about 15 mins and he seems to clear a good chunk of a3. From what I can tell he does all 3 lvls of keep depths, bridge of korsikk and arreat crater. He doesn't go into instances(barracks, caverns of frost, etc)

He does it by having 24% movement speed(boot and lacuni bracers) and keeps wrath of the berserker up pretty much 90% of the time. He doesn't use warcry and replaces it with rend which allows him to drop single target elites rather quickly.

I've decided to take a vacation from d3, it's freaking frustrating to put in a ton of hours since 104 hits and find 2 junk legendaries that can't be sold for more than 80k. This game doesn't reward you putting in the time, i think i'll just play something else.

Found a lvl 52 legendary bow (cluckeye) in act 3 inferno last night, so sad - I've also found nothing but junk legendaries, i think a total of 8 (no set legendaries yet) for a total gross of about 300k. Found 4 since the 1.04 patch also, junkity junk junk! I have not had much luck in finding items, after 300 hours or so the two most expensive items I've found and sold were 2.5m, and 900k.

I'm using the MF swap method recommended earlier in this thread though and I like it a lot, just swapping helm and ammy for a quick 80%+ mf addition before killing elites, it's very manageable. Thanks for that

Ok, I'm torn. I had a corsair rebate card that was getting eaten by monthly fees, so I put $19 on my battlenet account. Should I just buy gold?

I'm a casual gaming dad who only gets to play 2-3hrs a week. My Barb is level 44, Wizard is level 32, and a Monk, DH, and WD all around lvl 20(I did just enough to clear out my stash of low level items). Will probably do a push through normal with each of them to clear out the stash again.

Purchased gear would probably go on my Barb which has made it to the point where I can use lvl 60+ items with reduced requirements. Should I just save the $ for level 60 items without wasting a slot on reduced level requirement, or should I spend 1 million on a 800+dps sword to blow through the rest of Nightmare and hell?

I'm currently doing ~590dps with a 79dps spear I got off the AH for 20K gold, and have ~2000ish armor. I have noticed Molten, poison, and fire chain elites are kicking my but if I dont pay attention.

So far I have earned ~500k (maybe more)and spent most of it maxing my stash as needed and upgrading vendors. I have at least one upgrade for my low level characters every 5 levels or so saved from playing my Barb and Wizard.

In DII I really enjoyed the leveling experience of the 99 grind. Would you feel short changed "cheating".

I'd probably go with the second one. You get more strength for more damage, and the 6% reduction in damage from both elites and melee will probably result in more overall damage reduction than 4% block, but I'd really have to do the math to make sure.

120 hours? What are you Paragon level 40?

I kind of wish legendaries had a cumulative probability for dropping. eg, there's a 1/10000 chance of it dropping with your first item, a 1.5/10000 chance for your second item, a 2/10000 chance for your third item...

By the time you get to the 5000th item, you're at a 50% chance of the next item being dropped being a legendary.

Once a legendary item drops, the probabilities reset.

MF would enhance this, so if you were rolling 300% MF, you'd be a 3/10000 with your first, 4.5/10000 with your second etc.

They'd have to fine-tune the actual probabilities and the increase function, but in general it'd help with playability.

I dunno. I feel that currently, rares are viable enough that you can pretty much get by with those. The biggest problem is that once you hit a certain level of gear, the chances of finding something to replace it get really, really low. I just found a set 1h-xbow that had a really good roll on it, but it's not insanely good so it's not an upgrade for me.

On the other hand, it's cheaper than ever to buy pretty good gear. You could probably just use the gold that you find on your way leveling to inferno to buy enough stuff to be viable in Acts 2/3. I've seen some stuff that used to go for several hundred thousand on the AH drop to just tends of thousands of gold. In a way, that makes it even harder to accumulate wealth to buy insanely good items.

Nice I just found Dead Man's Legacy in A3 off an Elite as well, perf IAS, but not crit (9.0):

This was my second Legendary of the new patch and I think the socket will push it north of 100M.

Ya, that thing's amazing. Rare's only go up to 15% AS and, I think, 8% crit. I doubt you can get 150+ dex and vit too. Bola shot, not so much...

Oh ya, and gold is about $1.70 per million. You get 70% after commission/transfer, so enjoy your $100.

They buffed all quivers quite a bit from what I can tell. I found a 250 dex, 220 vit rare quiver the other day. I'm not sure what the max is now, but it's increased for sure.

Still, dead man's is by far the best quiver in the game.
