Second, save all your gold and don't upgrade anything if possible till level 44. At level 44 go to the AH and search for 2 handed weapons and armors with reduced level requirements of 16. For about 50-60k, you'll be able to get into a 550-600dps 2 hander with 200 int.

Once you hit 44 your dps is going to sky rocket.

I dinged 44 right at the end of A2 and, per your advice, purchased a 2H weapon off the AH for 200k; it has 1102 DPS, +189 Int along with a +245-445 Arcane dmg modified. After equipping the weapon, it was as if I was playing an entirely different game -- mobs just melted and barely broke a sweat through all of A3 and A4.

Was an excellent piece of advice; although I imagine Hell and Inferno modes won't be nearly so easy, it's been quite fun to be so op. I'm still quite squishy -- even though I'm only in Hell difficulty -- so I have to work on that but so glad I got the weapon.

Sure they do.. They know how to piss off players.

Whatever works, they nerf. And try to get other builds going. But they either buff too much or nerf too much.

Vault - trail of cinders is getting nerfed too.

It was 1500% weapon damage, now it's 300%

It's a matter of scale. Internal testing went through the entire game, but at most it was probably only a few hundred people. That's a miniscule amount of data and feedback relative to the millions of people playing through that same content when the game actually came out.

which is my point. they know from there other large user base games that items crop up in much greater quantities when released at large, but the full access beta for this one was kept very minimal.

So....with the changes coming up, and Gold being..what, .60/mil?

I'm just going through Inferno Act 1 with a Barb I built out with gear just playing; have almost 20kdps and 5 or 6k armor. Should I:

1. Just keep playing normally
2. Buy about 100mil and deck out my Barb with better gear and be able to Inferno easier, which will provide a better/faster chance of acquiring items to make up that investment.
3. Just buy the gold, sit on it, and resell it after it goes up after 1.05?

1, 2, and 3 are pretty much the same. Just decide when the patch is coming and buy gold then. I think gold dropped on patch day, then went back up to $1.95/million. After that the depreciation was fast. 60 cents now for a million? Ouch.

My thinking is that you get a quarter for a minimum sell on the Real Money AH. That 25 cents will always be static I guess and the more gold plummets the more that 25 cents purchases.

The more gold depreciates, the more player's pricing is inflated. We all assume gold is going back up in value with the patch. Might as well get as much as cheap gold as you can right now.

Okay, so I figured out how much experience and gold I get per act using a 1 hour "sample" time for each. Using a paragon level 31 DH:

- Act 1: 400k gold, 7m experience -- full mf/gf
- Act 2: 300k gold, 8m experience -- 1/2 to 3/4 mf/gf
- Act 3: 200k gold, 9m experience -- 0 to 1/10 mf/gf

That's actually hillarious that I essentially lost 100k gold per act up, and gained 1 million experience. For both Acts 1 and 2, I could put on mf/gf gear and a ruby into my helm - I removed some gf/mf and added dps for Act 2. But for Act 3, I died a lot more with my crappy helm that fits a ruby even after switching all other gear to dps, so I swapped it to my Andariel's Visage for about 11k extra dps.

Sounds like you're as curious as I was, so I actually keep track in an excel spreadsheet and calculate it out.

It should actually be slightly higher for each act, as long as you're not dying much. Find yourself a good barb or monk to run with and I'm sure you'll see much better results.

I feel like it should be worth a solid amount, but these stats don't match up with anything on the AH. To me that mean's it should be rare. Any help?

Those rolls are actually pretty high for what they are. And while they're not the most ideal for DPS, I'd price it around 3m/8m and wouldn't think that's unreasonable.

The only thing that would've made it more desirable would be if the fire resist was physical instead. Otherwise that ring is certainly worth something and don't just give it away. ^^

Sorry for yet another noob question, but as a Wiz does it make sense to stack vitality or will I be so squishy that the extra health doesn't really matter as I will have to avoid getting hit in the first place?

Too bad it doesn't have a socket (assuming that item could roll one).

The legacy Asheara's had a +2 discipline per second recharge rate, which basically allows you to spam discipline skills non stop.
