yea it's a matter of pricing an item and figuring out what it's worth. I have a bunch of rings and amulets I need to move. I thinking about just getting someone to buy the whole lot for a small amount and have them deal with the issue.

Another problem is that you can only have 10 auctions at a time. And after a few Azmodan runs, you might easily have more than 10 items for you to sell.

But if you have trouble selling the first 10 items then your list of items to sell just keeps growing.

i know D3 has its fair share of problems, most noticeable the RMAH and inferno difficulty being way too hard. my question is, do i have my moneys worth playing the game upto inferno difficulty.

whats a good average amount of time playing it enjoyable upto the hardest difficulty on one toon?

Well, I think I kinda hit the jackpot...

Playing 3 hours a day after work over the last 4 days, my plevel 28-30 (over that time) monk has had immortal king's chest drop, nat's boots, a 20 mil value Danetta's spite, a socket Shenlong's fist, and I flipped a weapon I bought for 55mil for 250mil (before AH cut)

Granted, none of these items had amazing rolls... but I'm sitting on over 500mil now

BTW, only have mf on 1 item. I would say my act 3 clear speed is a bit above average for a monk.

Me, for those wondering:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Dauntless-1820/hero/1489209

My paper DPS is low, but with the SOJ and Won Khim Lau I think I'm around 100k? Not really sure

Also, I am up for going after a new ring after the patch drops, might have trouble during the week (assuming the patch is on a Tuesday), but it is so much more efficient with multiple players - as long as everyone is capable of carrying their own weight

Did you have to sell your soul for all that good luck?

I've had 3 legendaries drop so far, and 0 set items. PL28. First one was a SoJ which sold for 32m, second a manticore 1.8m, and just got a firewalkers this morning which is auctioning at 8m. I will admit that the SoJ and firewalkers had pretty good affixes on them.

I just recently tried building a fire damage build on my monk. It's kinda fun so far. ^^

I am not sure, but I some people are just lucky? I've only gotten a few items that were worth millions, but that's about it.

Okay everyone, stop the presses: I found my first set item after about 400 hours.

It was an Natalya's ring with stats:
- 200 LoH
- 200 Life regen
- +9% IAS
- 140 dex
- 30 vit

Closest ring for bid is at 75 million, I started it at 65 million. Fingers crossed?

Just found a Tyrael's Might. What do you guys think it's worth. I'm terrible at estimating prices, but looking on the AH w/ similar stats, it appears it can be anywhere from 10M to 50M:

455 Armor
+196 Dex
+37 Physical Res
+73 Resist All
+14% Dmg to Demons
+12% Movement Speed
Increases dmg against elites by 3%
Ignore durability loss

Thanks.

So am I.

Am I missing something, or is the search limited to what you manually enter? Is there something like a "shift-click" option on an item that auto-populates the search field with stats for you or something?

Even just putting primary stats into search takes more time than I'd like to spend for each item. I usually just end up making something up so I can play and not spend an hour searching.

Any tips on how I should judge values? I tried an online D3 AH calculator, but that takes just as much time, because you need to enter the stats.

Not that I am good at the AH, but here is what I will do:

Sets/Uniques you pop in the name. If you didnt notice you can add filters to uniques now(wasn't always an option) so figure out which rolls are completely random and what the appropriate values are and then price to competition of the items you are looking at. Be aware of "hidden" values on items. Skills bonuses or damage bonuses can sneak in (EG Sources(wiz offhand) +meteor is going to suck almost all the time, and the damage on the offhand isnt searchable. Top end seems to be somewhere between 360-400)

For rares just be as specific as possible when searching for comparable items. You will need to learn what class values what affixes the most, which comes in time with browsing the AH.

I'm sure there are guides on some of the fan sites if you feel like searching. I'm at work so I can't help you out with that.

Edit. I also want to add that I pick my better items and vendor the rest. I try to keep my bank 1 tab open so when auctions fail I know exactly where they are. I will resell items if I have nothing else to put up, but my rule of thumb is to price something accurately no more than 2x then set the BO a little low and the bid at something like 5k (more than a vendor but chump change to try to get a couple people in a bid war) after that I just vendor my failed auctions or charity them. I no longer break down items for crafting because crafting sucks, and taking the time to look at items for above 59 vs below 60 takes too long.

I ended up putting the item on the AH for 25M buy out. I saw another one with similar stats go for 28M but that one had more dex and slightly more RA. Hoping it sells.

Last night, I played with a DH that had 391K dps! His tag is Apollo#1806 if you're interested.

I've never seen anyone with that high of DPS. Pretty insane.

lol your dps is quite high actually.
Especially since WKL and SOJ dmg isn't factored in.

Here is mine

I use the Sunkeeper for MF, but I also do use a WKL on the off hand.

If it hasn't already sold do a 25 m starting bid no buy out.

You don't want to short yourself if the item is worth more than that.

It's currently at 20M starting bid, and 25M buyout.

Question: If someone bids, does the buyout disappear (similar to ebay)?

Blue post saying monks have most potential for improvement. Monk changes possibly incoming

Quote
While there are currently solid build options for monks both in 1.0.4 and 1.0.5, and while top-tiered monks using very specific builds can achieve respectable damage, the class isn’t yet where we want it to be. We’re definitely aware of your concerns, and we agree that additional improvements should be made, especially with regards to play style options, build diversity, and the performance and budget of monk resources. We feel that the monk has the most potential for improvement, and we have plans to make more changes to the monk after 1.0.5. The sort of changes we’d like to make are not simple number tweaks, though.

Ultimately, we want to make monks more engaging to play and really immerse players in what it would feel like to be a fast-punching martial arts master. We have a number of ideas on how to accomplish that for the future, and we want to provide improved passives, particularly passives that can be used for a more offensively-minded monk. I also mentioned two other possible changes we’re considering in my previous post, but those certainly aren’t the only changes we’re looking into. They address another area we feel could use improvement, and that’s giving players some additional, more active play style options.

We have more improvements planned and they’re still only in the discussion phase, so we’re not really in a place right now to talk about them in much detail, but we’re actively working towards solutions to address many key concerns.

Must have a shitload of gear and the best of the best.

I think I can probably do 100k easy if I got a reasonably good Manticore. No idea how you get to 391k. Maybe if you count all your "mana"-using skills?

Oh, and I've realized why my items and leveling have been sucking so hard: I stuck to Act 1. I'm playing Act 3 now for the past week, and while the majority of items still suck, the gems that come once a week are actually gems. I've probably found 5 uniques in Act 1 and 2 that I either ended up vendoring, disenchanting, or selling on the AH for a whole f*cking 40k gold.

Not to mention that leveling is way faster in Act 3 becauase of pack density and quantity. Everyone's bunched together, so you don't have to run around finding something to kill.

Affixes on items will now roll their level based on the level of the monster killed (rather than the item's level)

^- Anyone can clarify the patch change above? So I am assuming that the highest monster level is 63, that means it will roll i63 affixes?

Also, with monster power lets say 10.. will monster level remain at 63? or is a bit higher every monster power level.
