I guess if there really is no rollback, I've made like 15b from buying up gems to resell. Figured I'd make like 150mil not 15b though. For sure I am going to sell that on the RMAH though. Even at $25 per 1b, I'll get enough to be happy.

That's the thing; $25/1B? Some people ended up with hundreds of billions, and one that I saw into the trillions, LEGIT. Sell that for cold hard cash man.

The thing is, nobody make hundreds of billions without duping and they were all banned. Gems capped a 200m each for Rubies and 160m each for Emeralds. At best, you made 1.7 billion gold PER 100 gems. To make hundreds of billions without duping you'd have to sell around 560 gems to make 100 billion IF you sold at the absolute peak.

Emeralds were a lot higher than 160. I sold 2 at 300m at one point.

The highest I saw emerals were 160m and I've heard a lot of people report that was the peak. I am not saying you didn't sell them for that much, but I doubt they lasted for that long. Even with that, you still aren't making hundreds of billions without a ton of gems (meaning you had billions before). The people with trillions were dupers.

Yup. No way anyone made trillions in a legitimate fashion. You won't be able to convince me otherwise.

I guess it would be possible if someone had like 50 billion gold, bought tens of thousands of gems at 18.5m each, then resold them for the max value. But that was one ultra rich person. The average person probably made a couple billion and that money will be gone before we notice it. Back into the hands of the ultra rich who sell gear on the AH.

I am shocked they didn't shut the servers down and roll back 6-8 hours to when the patch launched...it's ridiculous. There is no way they caught everyone taking advantage of the situation and the little gold I have (45m) is going to be worth even less now. That's just great.

Damn this being grown up and having a job stuff.

They can easily catch everyone that duped. And with the ease to created billions of gold, it is harder to spend it. Even if they just bought thousands of gems and temporarily inflated the gem market, it removed thousands of gems from the market. Everyone who duped and didn't report the error after a few times, will be banned and all that gold removed from the economy.

The problem with doing a rollback is a lot of people are claiming to have used RMAH to buy gems to sell on the gold AH. That is a lot of refund processing they probably aren't willing to go through. So, if you paid the $1 or so per gem for 125m, you got a deal on gold.

So what about the people that gave gold to their alternate accounts or to friends before they disabled the in-game gold trade? What about the people that spent 2Bill at a time (with duped gold) on items in the AH that were horrible/overpriced just for the amusement?

Lol, this game is such a trainwreck... Just when you thought it couldnt get any worse
Glad I jumped ship before 1.05, if you want a real action rpg, Path of Exile is so much better

I just dont know wtf Blizzard is doing anymore, they go for months without a word and then release completely underwhelming patches that dont fix the core problems of the game at all

Its so sad... Most of us were so excited for D3 thinking we would play it for another decade, and it turned into this

Yes, some people made a good bit of money on this, myself included. Did that destroy the economy? Hardly to the effect that people are trying to claim because some guys had trillions of gold. Those guys are gone. Even if they transferred the money instantly, they already had at least 6 billion gold. So, the 1% got even more money than they can realistically spend. Most of them from botting, btw.

Wtf are you talking about without a word? They post patch notes and update them throughout the patch process.

The problem I see is the spreading the wealth that was going on. The guy I was watching (who claimed he got his trillons without using the exploit, I don't know I didn't see him get the gold) was buying anything off of the ah that was ridiculously priced (20 billion or higher) and I saw him doing that for a while. He was even losing some of the auctions, so he wasn't the only one doing this. So anyone that had high priced items on the AH made some serious gold yesterday, not just rich people, but people who decided to inflate the prices on their auctions while the duping was happening.

Also apparently one of the first admitted dupers was just giving away billions to people (again I'm sure he wasn't the only one doing this). So I hope Blizz has a way to detect that, because if all of this "charity" gold (and gold people unloaded because they thought it would save their account from being banned) stays in-game, eventually as it's spent it will slowly distribute itself and raise prices overall.

So I'm sure there are trillions that spread quick, enough to make a decent inflation IMO. I'm also sure there are a lot of rich people now, because even I made more money than I ever expected in this game. I normally have a hard time collecting 1 mill, and because of yesterday's gem prices I'm finally well into the millions. I feel bad for anyone that didn't get in on it, because some of these prices won't be going down again for a while.

I personally think they made a mistake by not rolling it back. Everyone in the game is already getting richer by the day, and yesterday just increased that by a decent percentage (well anyone that was working the AH yesterday that is).

I have a bunch of junk legendaries. I should have put them all up for 20 billion each on the AH.

It will be interesting to see what prices people start posting things at once the AH opens again.

I'm assuming it will be a clean slate for the whole AH. They are smart not allowing gold trading right now too. This way they can continue to investigate the people with billions before they have a chance to give it all away. Imagine having the job of going through all of those transaction logs I'm sure they have a queries to assist with it, but they also have to make sure it's a legitimate means to ban someone.

Yup, apparently there were tons of people getting rid of crappy echoing fury's for billions, and they were selling almost instantly. This is what people on bnet forums are stating though, I didn't see it personally, but I'm not surprised. People will take advantage of this kind of thing in a hurry, because they know it won't last.

Also, I've got a new build I'm trying for my DH.

Bola shot - bitter pill (rarely use)
Rapid fire - bombardment
shadow power - gloom
sentry - guardian turret
marked for death - (hatred generator rune)
companion - bat companion
numbing traps
archery
(the other passive that ups your life, armor, AR, and reduces discipline cost)

The way to go is: drop a guardian turret, hit marked for death on the elite, hit shadow power, and then channel rapid fire. With the bat companion and the marked for death hatred generation, you can channel RF indefinitely. The grenades rune does good area damage, and at 3 shots per second with 400k crits ~1M dps sustained.

The guardian turret gives a protection bonus, and the numbing traps passive means anything hit by the turrets has its damage reduced by 20%.

The other cool thing I found out is if you hit shadow power and then start channeling RF, your shadow power 15% LS stays up so long as you keep channeling RF.

As soon as the AH comes back up I'm gonna buy some RF gear.

thats about what i have too...and frankly, due to my extreme lack of cash, this whole ordeal makes me not wanna play the game anymore.

Yah, got a total (through AH sales, and collecting myself) of maybe 10M ever. Can't outfit my guys for shit.

Also this patch was a pile of ****. Nerf the monsters somemore, buff the players. Ignore the issue of limited builds. This is basically a 4 year old's version of D2. Pathetic.

Hey, at least I can finally see when I have more than 4 buffs on my screen, can ID all items simultaneously, and kill more monsters with less downtime of running.

I think the legendary drop rate is fucked. I just got 7 in a 15 minute run. Granted, I killed at least 500 mobs, still. 15/500 is much higher than it was. Sadly, the best one was some Depth Diggers.

Nah, it's just raining for you. I had 4 legendaries drop in 10 minutes a few months ago then nothing for 3 days straight. It's probably just the masses of monsters and RNG playing in your favor.
