What I don't get is the one lead guy lamenting so much that players are excessively stacking +damage and life steal on their gear and not using other utility abilities to create a more diverse player base. This makes me wonder if this guy has played at any level beyond the intro. Melee classes use large quantities of lifesteal as mitigation and ranged classes have virtually no ability to sustain any damage so why would they chose anything but damage. You run into an elite pack and the onky thing a utility stat gets you is a shorter time till you're looking at the you're character is dead announcement

Because that guy is stuck in the D2 difficulty mentality where you could do Hell with whites. If they want people to use the "interesting" utilities, which IMO were all pretty stupid, they should make them not terrible. Having items that let you turn into a werewolf might be cool for the Team Jacobs out there, but if all that does is make you die as a werewolf, I'll take the bland +crit +crit hit damage.

I got my monk to around 200k unbuffed, 550+ ar, 40k health, and he is a beast. having fun playing my monk right now. Just wish there were more content.

Trying to get there as well. Watched Druin's video on farming MP10 fields of misery with his monk using Tempest Rush, Exploding Palm and Bell. Looked like a good way to farm. I just need more DPS to make it happen better. Act IV MP10 though, when I tried it, still kills me every so often with the mob density there.

Although I haven't really been messing with my 60 monk as I've been going through hardcore games with my friends. My friends all seem to keep dying from time to time and I haven't lost a single one. Which means I make a new char to play with them when they are restarting. So I now have a 39 barb, 20 wiz, 15 DH, and a 10 monk HC chars... I really shake my head at it since they just keep on dying for various reasons. Although I did almost lose my barb yesterday. My dog made me look up from my screen as it was trying to eat some cat poop from the litter box. So I yelled at it stop. I thought I was in a relatively safe spot when I did it. Nope! A yellow and a blue pack found me and I barely lived with a sliver of life. Had just enough time to hit ignore pain and jump away to safety. Was seriously close!

What do you do for healing? That is the area my monk feels weak.

If you're under 100k DPS, focus on more life on hit to maintain survivability. Otherwise 4.5% life steal will keep you alive with 300+ life on hit and decent armor (4000+) and resistances (600 AR).

Life steal on my axe, and loh on my echoing. I could use some loh on my ammy, but I've yet to craft a trifecta + loh.. lol. Finally just made a trifecta + AR. cc+cd+loh would work to, and I have a non crafted ammy with those stats, but you just can't beat getting 200+ dex on the crafted ones+ all the other props.

Even at just 2.8 ls, you drop a bell and that's a health globe or more pretty much.

Yeah I'm enjoying my monk now too. I think I'm 180k dps, 700 ar, 40k health. I only have one LS weapon so I still die from time to time, but whatever. I've made him a nirvana monk - it's fun dropping pillar of the ancients 10 times in a row

The Diablo® III: Reaper of Souls™ Friends and Family Beta is now underway!
In the past, participants in this particular phase of public testing usually only include friends and relatives of Blizzard employees. With Reaper of Souls, however, we've decided to buck that trend and extend invites to valued media contacts and key members of the Blizzard community. We're also inviting 3,000 of our most active Diablo III players from around the world who've opted in for beta testing—something we've never done for any Friends and Family Beta test before!
Participants in the Reaper of Souls Friends and Family Beta are not required to abide by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). As a result, you may see coverage in the form of articles, videos, streams, and forum posts appear over the next few weeks regarding various features and changes in the expansion. When reviewing this coverage, please keep in mind that the Friends and Family Beta is still an early glimpse at Reaper of Souls, which means that all content is subject to change before release. We also encourage you to be mindful of story spoilers, as the Friends and Family Beta includes the entire expansion, excluding the final boss fight.
Reaper of Souls Closed Beta Coming Soon Our Friends and Family Beta is just the first step of public testing, and by the end of the year we will be moving into Closed Beta. Since our Reaper of Souls Closed Beta test will also feature all content in the expansion (again, excluding the final boss fight), invitations will be extremely limited. However, we’ll continue handpicking community members to invite to the Closed Beta and bringing in additional players through opt-ins to ensure that all of our features like the Crusader, Mystic, and Adventure Mode get the testing they deserve.
If you’re interested in participating in the Reaper of Souls Closed Beta, please make sure you’ve opted-in for beta testing. You can do this by adjusting your Beta Profile Settings under the Account Management section of your Battle.net Account. Please note that opting in to the Reaper of Souls Closed Beta will not guarantee you access, but it will at least give you a chance at joining our beta test.
Public Test Region Access Also Coming Soon Around the same time we begin our Reaper of Souls Closed Beta, we will also be launching our Public Test Region (PTR) for Patch 2.0.1! This patch will feature updates including Paragon 2.0, Loot 2.0, our new difficulty system, the addition of Clans and Communities, as well as balancing and tuning for all five Diablo III classes.
Anyone with the Battle.net Desktop App and Diablo III license will be able to participate in PTR testing. If don't already have the Battle.net App, you can download and install it by clicking the button below.
We'll have more information on how to access the Public Test Region when it launches. In the meantime, if you'd like more information on the Battle.net App, check out our FAQ and be sure to send us your feedback using the Battle.net App Open Beta Forum.
We're incredibly excited about kicking off our public tests for Reaper of Souls, and look forward to collecting your feedback. The End of Days is coming!

I made a build designed to allow me to spam wave of light. Every ability grants spirit regen. All you see is enemies bouncing back all day. So, it's deadly reach with spirit on crit, mantra of healing with + spirit regen, cyclone with spirit regen. dropping bells all day.

While I love wave of light for the damage, it's terrible for partying. I prefer spamming cyclone much, much more. It does fairly decent damage and is much more useful to party members.

I've tried using both, but maintaining enough spirit for both is pretty difficult to do consistently.

I agree 100%. The knockback is a killer for CM Wiz's. Cyclone is 100% more helpfull in a party. I run wol build solo though.

I've watched a bit of beta streaming on twitch.tv, and it made me really excited. It feels like this game will finally wrap up it's current "beta" state and be officially released (the way it was meant to be) with the next expansion.

Looks very promising. Let's hope there are no surprises.

That's why I use the pillar of the ancients rune.

I'll activate nirvana, then spam a few pillars, cyclone strike with the heal rune and +20% dmg passive on heal, refresh overawe, and drop more pillars. No knock back.

Guys can someone help me? Someone who is good at maths

I have 2 Paragon lv.100 and another paragon lv.73

So what is my overall paragon level in RoS? What is the formula?
(Please don't link me to that table, it's confusing as hell!)

Thank you!

Anyone here still active on Diablo? Any EU players still playing? I'm assuming you guys are paragon lvling? Nothing else is worth doing now, but leveling.
