So, I can't seem to get an answer on this... are Corrupted Angels supposed to be incredibly beefy mobs? Out of all the elite packs that I fight, they always take
forever.
The Inna's 4 piece could be an insane buff depending on how/if it works with their Unity passive. Unfortunately the actual pieces are in some bad slots and they're not that great individually either.
Unity is limited up to 20%.
As weak as the monk is by himself, as a DH i do love rifting with a good one. Increased damage to mobs and the ability to suck them all together make for some nice cluster arrow hits. As a cluster arrow DH i hate that everyone plays witch doctor now. Pretty much ruins my effectiveness by spreading everything out.
I have to admit that I'm really not a huge fan of Cycle Strike. I mean... I
like the effect, but I just don't have a spot for it in my build. Dashing Strike and my Mantra are nearly irreplaceable, which just leaves Mystic Ally and Sweeping Winds. My Mystic Ally provides +10% damage and an extra +5% from Unity, and also deals damage. Another bonus that most probably ignore is that he can take aggro from me, which is nice when I'm stuck fighting those nasty Mallot Lord bosses (they hurt... a lot). Sweeping Winds isn't some amazing ability, but you notice when it isn't up because things just don't die as quickly as they should.
The only mobs that make me miss Cyclone Strike are wasps, succubi and Morlu invokers.
Not all monks will be running Conviction.
From purely my own experience, I've had the best luck running Conviction with the -15% damage dealt rune. I've tried replacing Mantra of Conviction with the healing mantra, and I found that I had a harder time running rifts with it. If I kill enemies faster (+10% or +20% upon activation, which I can keep up nearly indefinitely) and they deal less damage (-15%), then chances are I will take less damage that I don't need to waste time healing.
It's like... the one way, I take 200,000 damage, but the other way I take 350,000 and heal for 100,000.
The gargantuan is a moron. I use him, and when he hits he does decent damage, but normally he is pretty awful. I've noticed the AI for all the WD pets is hit and miss. It is like Blizzard didn't want them to be to aggressive and put in a "every 60 seconds, stand around doing nothing for 15!" bs code in their AI. I know they can make pets not terrible (I played a hunter in WoW, and they would never stand around. If they weren't on passive, they'd aggro every single room.)
One of the problems that I've found is that when you have a huge horde of minions, they tend to follow behind you too often. This usually causes them to get stuck outside of events for whatever reason. As you mentioned, their attack isn't nearly as reactionary/trigger-happy as it should be. My Mystic Ally and Templar seem to attack enemies much more often, but even they sometimes let mobs come up and hit me.
