I love playing my monk with the madstone helm i got which adds exploding palm to my seven sided strike, but as a side effect i have to avoid the exploding monsters now so i do not die.
I tried that with the Flow of Eternity Daibo. It was fun, but sadly not as amazing as I was hoping it could be.
Monks are weak. Have been since launch. They've tried to fix that, but monks only really make for great support right now. Those set changes coming in the patch may help the problem. But then everyone will be running the same thing.
Unrelated, bnet seems to be having some issues currently. Just got booted out of a rift and am in queue to re-connect. In the mid-west.
I've played the PTR and the set changes help the monk tremendously. It also will allow for some cool build setups that I dont think have been discovered yet considering all the combo's people can have with it. Hell, up until recently it was all cindercoat and the wave of light fire rune, but its since changed to be up close and personal again. I can't wait to see what my grift level will be after the changes on live.
can you send a link to your profile? I want to see what you have. I really wnat to get only more Inna Mantra item so i can get the 4 piece bonus on my monk.
Thanks but to clarify I only play single-player. Does that affect the answer?
Anyone claiming the console version is better than PC is a loon. The console version has been completely corrupted by cheaters online using hacked weapons and equipment enabling them to 1 shot everything on the highest difficulties. That's how players on the console are doing Greater Rift 100+. This is the reason Blizzard has already come out and said they will never release ladders or season on consoles. Don't waste your money and stick to the PC version imo.
I can't imagine playing a Diablo-style game with anything other than a KB/m. I haven't used a controller at all for anything other than the Batman series on pc though, so perhaps you're much more comfortable with a controller than I. You said you'll only be playing single player. Does the console version of D3 also require you to be online? If so, definitely the PC version. If not then the answer isn't as clear.
I have the original D3 PC and haven't installed it yet. The RoS expansion sounds great, so I'm deciding: $20 for PC expansion, or $30 for PS3 package with D3 and RoS?
I normally prefer keyboard/mouse, and Diablo seems like a better game for that than a controller, but I've seen opinions 'better on PS3, made for a controller'.
Controllers are fantastic, except for the things it sucks at. Sounds legit. If it were still half decent those things, but not fantastic, you could still have a point.
Ranged characters and inventory management not being fantastic on controller is at least half of the game. The console version shines at couch co-op. And sharing. I would just leave it at that. Although it could be argued that its social features on console are also better.
And does console actually have better drop rates? Loot 2.0 is exactly the same as the console loot drop system, just with better sharing on consoles. All the advantages the console version have had have for most part made their way into the PC version. Except the hackers. Those have thankfully stayed on the console versions.
If the person asking is that serious, there is the free version to try for PC, free demos for 360 and PS3, and redbox for the current gen consoles. They can make up their own mind.
As for what I originally came here to say: patch is likely not dropping until January and will be concurrent for PC and UE editions on console, and the RoRG can suck it. I've reached the point where any old RoRG won't do anymore and it's a pain. Key farming is more consistent. I imagine I'll hate key farming soon enough when my Hellfire amulet is a complete dud.
