I tried that with the Flow of Eternity Daibo. It was fun, but sadly not as amazing as I was hoping it could be.

I am not a fan of the two handed weapons for my monk. But I have Shenlong's Relentless Assault. Actually i have 3 of them but no Shenlong's Fist of Legend to up my spirit regen.

Those new bracers with Sunwuko should finally make monk feel as powerful as it should have always been.

I hear the daibo to use is the flying dragon.

My DH is a kridershot away from T6 being easy mode. It practically is, but I'm just shy of laying down turrets and "winning."

I think to keep things interesting, I'm going to build up my softcore pet doctor. It's kind of fantastic being able to just craft a toon into T2. Never had the supplies to mass craft like that before. Now I don't, but it was fun.

I'll hope a krider just drops for my DH while I gamble a few pieces for my WD. Weapons are so expensive, and it makes the 500 shard cap pretty pathetic.

I'll be on a decent bit next week. This weekend is a bit busy, but today is my last final. I'll easily hit P200 before the patch, I'm debating shooting for 250 or even 300.

Gotta love some reviews.

I was checking on reviews of Reaper of Souls - I haven't played the original yet, but it's on sale for $20 at Gamestop - on metacritic.

One review, an 80, begin in the summary:

"The Reaper of Souls expansion provides a great amount of content"

The next review, a 72, summary: "the sparse new content doesn’t quite justify it"

I thought I remembered hearing a December timeline, but I could be way off base.

Season 2 won't start until 2015 for sure, though. I run a toon up to 70 for the transmogs. I still have plenty to do in the regular game that seasons aren't as alluring to me. I can wait for the legendaries.

How come i have a crusader at level 121 that is almost as powerful as my monk at level 189? My crusader is seasonal. Is there enough better gear in season 1 to make my crusader almost as strong? Or is monk not a powerful character to play?

Monks are weak. Have been since launch. They've tried to fix that, but monks only really make for great support right now. Those set changes coming in the patch may help the problem. But then everyone will be running the same thing.

Unrelated, bnet seems to be having some issues currently. Just got booted out of a rift and am in queue to re-connect. In the mid-west.

I've played the PTR and the set changes help the monk tremendously. It also will allow for some cool build setups that I dont think have been discovered yet considering all the combo's people can have with it. Hell, up until recently it was all cindercoat and the wave of light fire rune, but its since changed to be up close and personal again. I can't wait to see what my grift level will be after the changes on live.

I have the original D3 PC and haven't installed it yet. The RoS expansion sounds great, so I'm deciding: $20 for PC expansion, or $30 for PS3 package with D3 and RoS?

I normally prefer keyboard/mouse, and Diablo seems like a better game for that than a controller, but I've seen opinions 'better on PS3, made for a controller'.

Anyone claiming the console version is better than PC is a loon. The console version has been completely corrupted by cheaters online using hacked weapons and equipment enabling them to 1 shot everything on the highest difficulties. That's how players on the console are doing Greater Rift 100+. This is the reason Blizzard has already come out and said they will never release ladders or season on consoles. Don't waste your money and stick to the PC version imo.

Thanks but to clarify I only play single-player. Does that affect the answer?

I can't imagine playing a Diablo-style game with anything other than a KB/m. I haven't used a controller at all for anything other than the Batman series on pc though, so perhaps you're much more comfortable with a controller than I. You said you'll only be playing single player. Does the console version of D3 also require you to be online? If so, definitely the PC version. If not then the answer isn't as clear.

The console version has better droprates. For people that play solo:

From what I have read, using a controller is fantastic. The only thing that is slow is the stash organizing. I have read multiple topics that say this game was made for a controller. I imagine it would be really nice.

I played both D3 & RoS on X360 only. They did a very good job of bringing it to the console. I haven't played it in months, finally got burned out and moved on for now. But while I was playing there was something said that the previous gen consoles (X360 / PS3) would not be getting content patches only bug fixes. I don't know if that ever changed but something to check on.

Since you already have the pc version you could go ahead play it some then download the console demo and see which you like better.

Controllers are fantastic, except for the things it sucks at. Sounds legit. If it were still half decent those things, but not fantastic, you could still have a point.

Ranged characters and inventory management not being fantastic on controller is at least half of the game. The console version shines at couch co-op. And sharing. I would just leave it at that. Although it could be argued that its social features on console are also better.

And does console actually have better drop rates? Loot 2.0 is exactly the same as the console loot drop system, just with better sharing on consoles. All the advantages the console version have had have for most part made their way into the PC version. Except the hackers. Those have thankfully stayed on the console versions.

If the person asking is that serious, there is the free version to try for PC, free demos for 360 and PS3, and redbox for the current gen consoles. They can make up their own mind.

As for what I originally came here to say: patch is likely not dropping until January and will be concurrent for PC and UE editions on console, and the RoRG can suck it. I've reached the point where any old RoRG won't do anymore and it's a pain. Key farming is more consistent. I imagine I'll hate key farming soon enough when my Hellfire amulet is a complete dud.

The controller is good for everything. The people that have played both said inventory management is easier with a mouse and keyboard. Playing the game, the controller is fluid.

Loot 2.0 with weighted drops is garbage. When they fix that crap, let me know. Loot itemization is still horrendous. I stopped playing because I can't find a SMK.

Consoles have trading. He wants single player though.

I opened about 100 caches on T6 and got a good amount of RoRG. I did not get a single one with a socket. I stopped doing bounties.

Now you're doubling back. Is it good for inventory management, or not?

I've head that inventory management and playing ranged isn't great. I've heard melee is superb. That's still about half of the game where it's not great. I'll probably download the demo and give it a try, but I can't imagine playing M6 being any kind of fun with a controller.

Side note, I've heard couch co-op is stupidly fun. If I came off as sounding like I was putting down the console version, I'm not. However, some of the arguments used don't apply anymore, like loot.

I'm not trying to say that controllers are evil for this game, but your argument was funny because it was self-defeating.

Loot 2.0 is the same on console and PC, Blizzard has said as much. Trading is what makes it seem better on consoles. Better trading is something I want sorely on PC. Keep it in clan, restrict to people on your friends list, just figure out a way to open it up some more, not this in-party, 4 hour BS.
