I bought reaper of souls this Sunday, and started back on my lvl 60 DH. Got to lvl 70, got to lvl 62 paragon today, and I'm feeling bored of this game already.

It feels like the game is just repetitive, doing bounties/rifts over and over again to get better items so that I can grind tougher rifts to gain better items, etc..

Any advice?

You're pretty much playing the game how it was meant to play. D3 is a loot/grind game. You pretty much have to keep doing things over and over just so you can upgrade your gear, just so you can do higher level grinding, just so you can find more gear, just so you can do all of that faster.

Work on clearing higher and higher level greater greater rifts as well. I plan on getting my barb in the top 1000. I've had a wizard, demon hunter, and witch doctor up there before.

Thanks SirPaulsio and others for power leveling me in one hour. I keep selling my potions forgetting that i have yet to get a legendary potion and being lower rank than everyone else i am still needing them to stay alive.

Now if only i knew the right skills to use with the wizard char that i have never played before.

I use a wiz build similar to this, but not an exact copy. My personal tweaks are to use teleport:safe passage instead of wormhole. I like the 25% armor boost for 5 secs.

Also, you can toggle between Prismatic and Force Armor depending on the difficulty of content your playing. Go with Prismatic for easier stuff.

For passives, Blur and Unstable Anomaly are mandatory. I use illusionist for constant teleports (which has good synergy with Safe Passage) and evocation for 20% CDR. Blackhole blazar and mammath hydra are the main DPS spells for this build. Apoc is more crowd control, but can be substituted out for meteor.

Now that I think about it, I wonder why more people don't use meteor instead of blizzard:apocolypse? I find apoc to be mostly useless in higher rifts.

edit: Also, keep your eye out for a legendary wand called serpant's sparker, which allows for 2 hydra at the same time.

edit 2: Unless you have a specific weapon like serpant's sparker, casting builds like the one I've described benefit much more from the highest damage 2 handed weapons. This is because base damage for all of your spells are calculated from your weapon's damage number.

Should i go 1 handed weapon with orb set piece ( i cannot look it up currently) or go with a 2 handed weapon? I will have to try hydra. I tried teleport but did not really like it so i changed it but maybe i will have to try it again based on those builds on somepage.com.

I've gone with a 2-hander simply because the damage is so much higher. Attack speed isn't so much of an issue for wizards, since spell damage is governed by weapon damage. But you may be able to find a good one-hander + orb, especially if it has a good set bonus or secondary effect.

Diablo3.com is back so i can see your profile, I have the Tal Rasha orb, so it might be advantages to keep it. Is this the best Wizard set, Tal Rasha?

Currently, most are using Firebird's. Tal Rasha's is okay (it's supposed to get a bump in the upcoming patch), but the current full set bonus is meh and the rest of the bonuses are also kind of meh. I've had more of TR's at one point, but I've slowly been transitioning to FB as I find the pieces, since all my damage is fire, or just outright replacing TR's stuff because I found a better unique or set item (like my ammy/ring combo).

If you want to go with an Archon build, you could try for Vyr's.

I don't understand how you guys can do that much damage and me I can barely see the health bars of monsters go down...

I'm at 1.02M DPS now unbuffed...from what I see you look like you all are at 4M+ DPS...

It's all about the synergies.

Are your skills stacked with one element? Do you have +[that element] attached to your bracers and/or SoJ/Ammy? Do you have any +elite damage?

Are you taking advantage of your set buffs? All three jewelry sockets? Gems that cater to your playstyle?

It's more than a pure numbers game. Obviously there's still a lot of luck to get the drops you need with the stats you need, but there's a decent bit of planning that goes along with it as well.

Followed by, is your class even one that is known to be a big damage dealer?

Sure my gear is not optimized and I still need some more upgrades. But i'm doing better than last week though so that's an improvement heheh

If I continue to run rifts with you guys 3-4 times a week i'll ultimately grab some good upgrades. I also realised i'm now in the slow grind fest part of the game and everything I do will be long and boring until I get what I want lol

There's certainly a lot of room for improvement.
CHD on gloves is better than attack speed. Use Paragon to get closer to the chc:chd 1:10 ratio.
You need more IK to get full bonus. Ideally hunting for Raekor's + Vile Ward, or pieces to make your ancients more awesome like TnT.
Simplicity's strength is not a great choice, maybe bane of the trapped instead. Generators are super weak compared to your spenders, and getting a 20% buff to their damage is better.
Straight Vit is generally better than %life.
Switch animosity for the passive that lets you deal increased damage to enemies with less than 40% health.
You're currently split between +physical and +lightning. It would be better to focus on an element.
I'm also not completely sold on wreath of lightning for barb. Maybe pain enhancer or bane of the powerful would be better.
Fast advice would be to farm RoRG and craft aughild bracers and shoulders. Those two things will get you 3 piece bonus of IK and +elite damage with some elite protection. You have ancients in those slots, so you'll likely see some numbers go down unless you have enough mats to get decent ancient versions crafted, but the synergies will be good.
I'm tempted to recommend captain crimson as well, but not sure. Maybe after getting IK helm or something.

I also don't know what is required to make sure WW is sustainable, so that you could use taeguk. Most of the IK barbs I've seen tend to also be WW barbs with taeguk.

I would also wait for someone who knows barbs better than me to chime in. I could be off on some of this stuff. And without knowing your intent with the barb, it's also hard to say. Do you have a goal that you want to hit?

I was against playing seasons, but the 2nd night after starting a monk, I got the torch that I was trying for weeks to get on my main. Go figure.

I'm farming RoRG a lot and don't see that drop at all. Been farming it for the apst 2 weeks, i've had no luck.

Aughild and Crimson sets, not sure about those. They seem more defensive in nature and that's not really what i'm looking for right now.

I should probably replace some leg gems and will check what I have. I don't think I have Bane though.

Really need a new Ancient weapon. The one I have is not that bad but I know I could get a better one with better stats rolled on it.

I'll replace some item stats at the Mystic too, Vit seem like a good choice over %HP overall.

I really need more souls to craft and reroll stats, i'm always poor on that side.

I like Animosity synergy with Boulder Toss, plus Unforgiving and Avalanche/Earthquake (those two give me 30 Fury when I use them with Earthen Might). That give me an almost infinite pool of Fury for max damage with Boulder Toss and Hammer of the Ancients. Here how it goes:

- Max Fury at 180 IIRC
- Ancient Spear/Boulder Toss does 20% damage per Fury point spent
- Avalanche gives me 30 Fury when activated and it's cooldown is reduces by 1sec for every 25 Fury I spend (current CD of 30 seconds)
- Earthquake gives me 30 Fury when activated
- Hammer of the Ancients have more Crit chance the more Fury I have

Sure I mostly spend my Fury a lot and quick but there's some ways to get it back really quickly and I like how the build is doing for now. But maybe with better weapons and stat rolls i'll have to switch some things in order to be more effective.

Sween gave you great advise on what you can look into. With your weapon I would change all your damage to fire. Hammer of the Ancients set to Smash, Earth Quake set to Giants Stride. Like he said get rid of Animosity for Ruthless ASAP.

You can keep toxin but try out these three together first, pain enhancer/bane of the trapped/bane of the powerful or maybe taeguk with boulder toss and see how you like it.

Best way to get RoRG for me was to run act one bounties and fill up on boxes and open them all up at one time.

Aughild bracers and shoulders are a easy must for you right now just craft till you get some good ones.

Don't waste your time on RoRG until you can do them on T6 to guarantee a legendary. You will gear up far faster just running rifts, wasting your time on RoRG will gimp you in the long run doing less than T6.
