Monk seems to be the #1 season 2 build, you guys do a 4 monk grift yet?

You can get some pretty amazing chains of exploding palm going with 4 gundgo monks and good mob density.

Not sure about what the patch notes mean for Inna's set though, since there is currently only max 4 piece set bonus and only 5 pieces of the set yet the patch notes talk about a 6 piece set bonus.

If he gets a full group of Anandtech guys to help out I'm sure they would be running T6.......

Yeah i'm only doing bounties with AT clansmen but so far no luck.

I'll craft some Aughild like you guys recommend...but can't see how they'd be better than Cain's for DPS...but i'll try them tonight.

I just got my first season 2 level 70 rorg. I had only had a level 39 drop before. Completed A1 bounties many times. Doing it at T6 should help, but it's still luck of the roll.

"This set is often used in the endgame: with a Ring of Royal Grandeur, it can be completed with just two items, usually shoulders and bracers (as most class sets do not use these slots)."

"Reduces damage taken from elites and increases damage dealt to elites by 15% (3 pieces)"

If anybody doesn't mind looking at my gear, and recommending upgrades, I'm all ears. I feel like I know what I want, but I'm just not getting the drops. I'm probably not playing enough either (to give myself more chances for drops).

I'm referring to my seasonal monk, SNACKxATTACK

i think you have a good build. Getting the Inna's set would free up one more skill slot. Also i would get a different staff so you can get sweeping wind which works great when you are already using cyclone strike to suck enemies in. But overall i like your build. Also the crudest boots are great if you want to take advantage of mystic ally, that is what i use on my non seasonal monk.

I started a Monk and a Barb for season 2. I got the Barb to 70 at around PL 72. At PL 110 and a GR level 4 I got a decent Furnace. That, along with a good chest and helm for Raekor's I am struggling for gear drops badly at PL 175. Gambling has yielded me nothing at all.

I ran some bounties on my Barb and got a RoRG to drop. I was stoked. It had 7% IAS and 44% CHD. I run to Kadala to get a socket for the LoH and notice it is dexterity.

I passed on the best non ancient Torch I had seen to allow a friend to have it as he mains a Monk this season. The guy that found it had been helping me out. He has found two very nice Ancient Torches and like four plus regular ones. I had one from earlier that is not that good but it is a Torch.

I am just trying to figure out what I want to do. I want to run T6 fast and efficiently but three drops in over 100 PL is a motivation killer. I want to be able to run decent GR but I can't do that either. I don't know how long I am going to play seasons if I can't get anything to really drop and my non season characters are decked out.

I've had pretty much all of Raekors drop 3 times, minus the chest which I've gotten 1. Got a Vile Ward and decent ancient 2 hander too. PL 250 so far.

You've definitely got room for improvement. Check out the builds for guys on top of the leaderboards. Get in games with the clannies and they'll guide you well. Many of the season clan members are running monk builds.

I crafted the Aughild shoulders and bracers yesterday and i'm currently using them. My DPS dropped a mere 40K I think but my Toughness upped by 2M, so that's a good trade off. Still need to gamble with the smith and hope for some Ancient replacements.

I'm so poor on mats right now it's not even funny. I'm drained of Reusable Parts and Arcane Dust...not cool at all and not that fun to gather...

easy enough to gather, because it's not a 1:1 like yellows and veiled crystals. whites, greys give you like 7 reusables each, and blues give you a few arcane's each.

aughilds is definitely a solid set.

Felt the same way after getting to about 60 or so plevels I think on my season wd, so I just went back to normal.

Clark, are you fan of the How Did This Get Made podcast or are you a fan of bare chested Sean Connery movies?

I was wondering if anybody would get the reference or even cared to notice.

I could understand if I was trying to upgrade decent gear already but I still need:

Shoulders
Amulet
Three Rings
Follower Token
Boots
Pants
Bracers
Belt
Gloves

I hadn't played for months but decided to jump on last night for the hell of it. Joined a T6 game and everyone did the A1 bounties.

In my cache, I got another RoRG for my wizard which happened to be slightly better than the one I was previously using, so score!

I'm a Barbarian, just switched my build so it'll work better with my damage buffs. All three jewelries are socketed...

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/GomJabbar-1899/hero/49133175

Sure my gear is not optimized and I still need some more upgrades. But i'm doing better than last week though so that's an improvement heheh

If I continue to run rifts with you guys 3-4 times a week i'll ultimately grab some good upgrades. I also realised i'm now in the slow grind fest part of the game and everything I do will be long and boring until I get what I want lol

If you're playing a Barbarian, you want to shoot for Raekor's and nothing else. Do, however, save an Immortal King's set on the side, as it's about to be significantly upgraded. Barbarians go from high-fiving mobs to some of the highest damage output in the game once you equip a 5p Raekors (4 pieces + RoRG).

Question though, are you running public T6 Rift runs?

This is strange. I've leveled both a Barbarian and a Crusader to 70 since Season 2 has started. With the Crusader, I was able to acquire a full set of both Akkahns and Rolands very quickly after hitting 70. And with the Barbarian, I've already gotten a full set of Raekor's. This does not make me > you. Hear me out on this. The point I'm getting at is, what is your plan? How are you grinding? I've found that if you focus on T1/T2 difficulty by yourself, you're going to be doing A LOT of grinding before anything beneficial drops. If you just crank the difficulty up to T6 the moment you hit 70 and join a public game, you're going to get the gear you need very, very quickly. And I mean very quickly. I was basically full Raekor's within two 1-2 hour sessions. Yes, you'll be hitching off the hard work of someone else for a few runs, but at those levels, there is always one or two players who are carrying the rest of the group.

Now I get to return the favor!

My routine is basically this:

1. I start by firing up a private T6 game to complete the Act 1 quest for RoRG grinding. I don't over-do it though. I may do this once per play session.

2. Open the game up to public do Rifts/GRifts. There are some gems you want to get to level 25 pretty early on.

My final advice: Focus on offense until you start getting into the GR35+ realm of the game. I find that players focus on defense way too much way too early in the game, and they wonder why they can't kill anything or farm fast enough. If you're getting the right gear, the defense will come naturally. Survivability does become much more important in the later stages of the game (where everything practically one-shots you), but focus on dat offense! Killing power is paramount.

Hmmm, knocked out that lvl 37 solo grift on the barb today. I got another lvl or three but that's about it.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Tallbill-1707/hero/58496889

Need CDR on gloves/shoulders/weapon. Obviously a furnace or heart slaughter would be great, seems like the top builds have efficious toxin instead of miranae. Also need a SOJ.

Also, thinking about dropping ground stomp or even ignore pain. Wary cry/impunity and sprint/marathon seem popular with top builds.

I'm finding the Blackthorne's 3 set bonus (with rorg) is actually pretty good defensively, as the 10% reduced damage from elites scales pretty well with higher grifts. Was able to tank up to grift 42 in group as the only melee without an issue on my Crusader and I was able to drop one of the two defensive gems and swap it for an offensive gem.

But I can see how as you go up it makes more sense for melee to go zdps as the grifts start scaling up. Even my 60 million condemn crits are barely making a dent in white mobs. Without a bunch of DHs to deal damage I'm pretty much just a useless rock blocking the doorway.

By the way, I'm thinking of joining a clan, how active is the AT Clan? Are there a lot of active members?
