Hey all, normally I come to this threat to whine a bit but actually I'd like to be a bit more positive this time.
Essentially, I gave up on trying to be a unique snowflake wizard (who could still not do T6 with his main lightning/stun wizard). I switched to (mediocre) firebird gear.
Firebird gloves, shoulders, helm, boots and offhand. Craptastic rorg and soj. Ancient Chantodo (2800dps), vyr's legs, tal rasha chest, and nemesis bracers. Decent fire amulet.
And I did better than I've ever done before, instantly, it's hilarious. If it weren't for a friend I was carrying in Grift 28 (far better than I've ever done) I would have beaten the rift guardian easily. And the play style is quite funny: hydra, black hole to group, blizzard to tick, and teleport around as necessary in a circle re-casting blizzard and black hole as necessary.
And bam, 800 million hp elites melt away. There are so many ticks I can't even calculate what I'm doing.
It's a hilarious playstyle, reminds me a bit of DHs plonking sentries down then lunging here and there to avoid damage.
I think with the significant increases to my gear that are still possible (I'm at work, wish I could easily link my battlenet character) I think I should be able to push much higher. Becoming easily able to farm t6 will be great to do act 1 bounties over and over until I get a very nice rorg.
So the point of the post was to give some of the people hope - going cookie cutter really can make a difference ;-)
