We tried 4p 63s last night and failed 3 times.

Horrible maps, long hallways. Low density of mobs. Hey theres 4 whites, and look theres 3 elites and a boss too. Walk another 20 seconds, theres another group.

RNG had the decked stacked against us.

Maybe once I figure out the whole healer monk dynamic it will be easier but if rng doesn't cooperate its frustrating.

I may have a couple hours tonight. I think with 2 minor changes we can do a 63.

This is exactly the reason I haven't bothered pushing higher grifts much, especially solo. It's head-to-wall, rngesus hating action and it gets frustrating.

Once I replace my gloves and Lion's claw I'll try getting up the ladder, but fishing for good rifts is extremely annoying.

Ugh, didn't look at the later season requirements and catch the level 70 hardcore one. Oh joy.

I leveled a sader on seasonal HC and can powerlevel if need be (solely for the seasonal journey completion; nothing special). I enjoyed the range of challenges that came with the Guardian completion.

Wonder if I was a HOTA build if it would have helped.... although I was clearing a lot of garbage with the WW build???

Instead of just hoping for a fist and Restraint to drop, I may instead see if I can't finish Shenlong's and go for a generator DB farm build for a while. It's getting ridiculous.

The last 4P grift 63 we cleared was with a Monk, Witch Doctor, my HOTA barb and a crusader (fire shield I think). Was very effective. I remember critting from 15-25B with all the buffs on.

I cleared my first 60 in 11+ mins on the first try. Got Coldsnap + a lovely map where the density was excellent!

Tried 4 61 so far and only one time I got withing 1 min of completion... FU Ghom!

Slowly easing myself into T8 Rifts and such. Just bored playing on T7 with so few legendary items dropping. It's become really tedious trying to find ancient IK and Wastes items.

You need to run TX with some of us other barbs, slightly better chance of getting something.

Anyway, last night was a lot of fun, it was nice of all u big boys dragging my weak monk through all those 60s.


And, RNG has been a real B lately, we should easily be able to do a 61, but no density and when there is density its like 4 pieces of trash and 2 elite packs. That's no win situation right there.

i absolutely do need to run some TX's with you guys, I just don't have a ton of time to really get into doing multiple runs. Perhaps tonight if people are on and interested in letting my sorry ass tag along...

I got really lucky the other weak. I got 4 waste items. I am amazed how powerful the set is. I went from struggling o T4 to being able to do T7 without to many issues.

I still need hexing pants and some rings.


I just need to ancient's also. i have ancient weapons though. so I got that going for me...

That's pretty sweet. I have barely gotten any useful set items to drop. My first run on a T8 Nephalem Rift netted me some type of armor i can't even use and another set of waste boots. Unfortunately, the Waste boots I have are the only Ancient set item I own, so pretty unlikely I'll be replacing those.

I'd kill for Ancient Set Weapons... the IK weapon I have works, but it'd be so nice to have an ancient one.

Found an Ancient Gavel of Judgment yesterday and tried HOTA despite pretty much not having any other gear for my barb except Bracers of the First Men. Damage output was pretty ridiculous even with just those two items.

It's also pretty damn funny running around the map like a Super Smash Bros. character with the megaton hammer.

This is nothing new, of course, but still would like to point out at Magic Find, because it's still viable and effective. I normally farm Torment X, and with a Topaz in helm plus my Follower equipped with a Nagelring I have a total of 50% MF. I do notice a good difference in Legendary (and Set) drops frequency. I'm pretty much guaranteed about 3 to maybe 5 or 6 Legends per TX Rift up to the Guardian's spawning (I'm not completing Rifts to the end unless it happens to be a massive outdoor map).

It's still of course RNG in the end, but on paper anyway T8+ with some MF thrown in is the way to farm items. I actually have much better results that way than just doing GRifts repeatedly for Blood Shards and wasting them at Kadala.

I finished my season journey last night. The HC to 70 was done by hopping into the HC power leveling community. The TX rift in 3 minutes was done with three Barbs and a Monk. Our fourth try was an Act 5 graveyard map. One Barb went Pylon fishing and found a Conduit. We got done in about 2:20.


After that, I got a WD leveled to 70, started some GRs on my Monk and completed some seasonal achievements.

I'm not sure magic find is worth anything, I can buff my magic find and run a T10 rift and get 2 or 3 pieces. Remove the buffs and get 7 on the next run.

Then there are rifts like last night. In a 2p game, I jumped in right at the RG. and ran basically 1 and a half floors, not particularly long ones either, and got 11 or 12 legs for about 5 minutes of my time.

I am pretty sure its so random as to make magic find useless.

I was playing WW all season and it is just horrible in groups, you really need to be HOTA to push 60+. The only problem with HOTA is you need a heal monk to maximize your dps and will die very easily without the proper group setup, I'm only para 530 and last night was doing 4-5 min GR60s in pub games.

MF technically can still help (iirc you can get ~150% still which is cut to 10% effectiveness for legendaries). But optimistically that's +15% legendary items and that's only if it multiplies the existing torment/rift bonuses. If it simply adds to them then it'd end up being near meaningless.

Ok, I've been trying to climb higher grifts with the barb, doing the 2ww6ik rend build. I have pretty much the same type gear that the top guys are using, but struggling to get past 55. How are these guys doing up to 74(alkaiser)? If I go ancient fury, I lose damage reduction, if I got together as one, I struggle to maintain fury.. aye. What am I doing wrong guys?

Ok, I've been trying to climb higher grifts with the barb, doing the 2ww6ik rend build. I have pretty much the same type gear that the top guys are using, but struggling to get past 55. How are these guys doing up to 74(alkaiser)? If I go ancient fury, I lose damage reduction, if I got together as one, I struggle to maintain fury.. aye. What am I doing wrong guys?

Ancient? Same rolls? Potion snap-shotting stricken? Doing serious fishing? Hellfire? Probably some other snap-shotting I don't know/care about. Paragon? Gem levels? Follower gear?

There's quite a bit that goes into it aside from same name gear in the right slots.

I can match Quin69's gear, but I don't have a level 80 BotT or 1000+ paragon giving me a natural sheet toughness of 40M, among other things. I also don't know all the snap-shot or grouping tricks that they use when they finally get a good grift.

I'm boring, I just try to better than my previous best. But I've watched the occasional runs and I do read a bit of the high level discussions. Emulating the broad strokes of their strategies has generally helped me out.

furnace, lamentation, unity ring

hf ammy str, 100% cd, 10 cc with zerker rage (it's my best one)

using, superstition, rampage, ruthless, weapon master

What's snapshotting? Maybe I should check out a youtube vid?
