Just wish I could play more of the game without playing Act 4. You seem to have to play act 4 once to get to the other parts.

Any specific build I should work on as a wizard? I dont need to min-max for uber endgame stuff, but something that is easy for a beginner to pick up that doesnt get woefully underpowered later on?

No, don't sweat it, any gear you pick up prior to level 70 will end up being pretty much irrelevant in the end. I'd work with whatever the best gear that drops for you is, since legendaries will tend to be pretty rare. Other than that just use the skills you like.

Not sure I follow why this is a problem? You'll have to play act five too.

It should only take a few hours to get through, especially on a lower difficulty. Given that the real meat of the game is in adventure mode, which IIRC you have to complete act five to get to, it's fairly insignificant.

I did end up getting Necro faster than I thought, and it's quite a bit of fun. Rathma's is the first set that I have happened upon enough pieces of, and it's fun. I was hoping for Trag or Inarius, but the reality is that any set will get me to a place where farming the rest is relatively easy.

Although starting last night, the game has not been consistent at connecting for me.

Been slow to get my necro fully geared (I've never stockpiled DB's) with a set, but I can run TX with Rathma at the moment.

Been seeing a few fun builds using Trag, and I guess Inarius got nerfed for 80+. I haven't seen anyone mess around with Necro LoN yet. I feel like there is potential for a thorns pet LoN in there (even if it's just for TX speed) somewhere.

For me, it was always Demon Hunter. MIght as well play the season and get the free set, which happens to be great for speedfarming. Then, when you get the gear, transition to the shadow set for GR pushing and group play.

It's probably the strongest class right now and the easiest/fastest to take up to higher GR level quickly. Granted I never really pushed hard, but after a couple of weeks with the Necromancer it's gotten me past GR 70, the highest I've ever gotten with any character.

I was really enjoying playing the Necromancer in non-season but decided to play the DH for season, at least for now.

Necro looks real strong and the top g rift guys are using them it seems. I went with monk and just need to farm out my RRoG for the 6p to really start rifting.

I am. I just don't have the 6p. And, I found a pair, so I have 5 Raiment now and need the 6p. Don't have enough damage to do a G Rift 20 solo yet.

So, I started playing Diablo 3 again, but I've been having a weird hitching problem. Essentially, I'll be playing for maybe a minute or two, and the game just freezes for a second or two. It doesn't appear to be Internet lag, because that would likely result in visible warping. I tried reducing every single video setting down, and nothing helped. The only thing that I didn't try was going from Windowed - Borderless to Maximized. I haven't seen this problem in any other game that I've played, and I'm using the latest drivers. Given that I'm using an i7-6700k + GTX 1080 Ti, I shouldn't be having any issues with serious slowdowns.

Also, it only happens while in the game, which means I've never seen it happen while on a menu. I'm pretty sure I even saw it happen when I was browsing via Chrome while Diablo 3 was still open, and I recall Chrome even stuttering a bit at the exact same time. (Chrome is graphically accelerated.) I tried closing Chrome to see if that helped, and it didn't make a difference. I've also noticed some odd behavior with Chrome on this machine. When I'm playing other games and I have a video open in Chrome, it's very stuttery. The video will freeze just like Diablo 3 does.

I'm tempted to just do a full reinstall of Windows and see if I can clean things up a bit.

Although, even with all the annoying issues, I did get my seasonal Necromancer to level 70 with 3/4 Journey Stories complete in one day.

Have. You tried reinstalling video drivers? 1080ti should not have those issues with an old game. Even the video in the background should be buttery.

Nah, but I might have figured it out... maybe. At least what I did caused the stuttering/hitching to drop considerably. It does still happen, but far, far less than it used to. Normally, when I build a computer, I don't install ancillary software, but this time I decided to install stuff like ASUS's AI Suite and NZXT's CAM software. So, I just closed both of those programs, and it's working a lot better now. Although, I don't know if they were messing with the system, or if it was an issue of graphic priority? In windowed mode, I don't think software can claim graphics like it does in fullscreen, so given that both AI Suite and CAM are graphically accelerated software, they will also request time to be redrawn. Chrome, which is also open on my other monitor while gaming, is also graphically accelerated, and I've never had a problem with it open. So, I'm not too sure if it's an issue of graphics as it shouldn't be that demanding.

I'll probably remove some of this software as I never cared for it anyway, and NZXT's cooler has been rather lackluster.

So, I started playing again about a week or so ago, and my Necro has been doing a decent job. I'm on the second-to-last season journey step (the one with the stash tab), which might be doable solo. I'm a little hesitant on how easy a 5-minute T13 Rift will be, but it might be okay since I've already done GR75 solo (~9.5 minutes). Most of my rift times are usually due to luck more so than capability, so it'll probably take a few tries. My biggest problem as a Rathma Necro is surviving. I die very fast if I get hit by things, so I have to be really careful.

Anyway, one question that I have is... what do you guys do with all of your seasonal characters? I mean... I already had a character of each class (except Necromancer) prior to ever doing seasons, and now I've got duplicates of various classes. The sad thing is that my seasonal characters are arguably far better than the originals by many orders of magnitude.

I normally just delete them, since the only difference between characters is name and gear.
