Official DOOM3 release date???

I didn't really see anything in the forum regarding this so here is the OFFICIAL DATE of Doom3 release. Is this true or has anyone seen any other possible dates???

Summer 04' for sure(from the horses mouth). We'll know for sure soon if it goes gold before that release date.

In any case I've waited this long, What's another 2-3 more months (if it comes to that).

Lame. Only release date out there right now is summer '04. I still predict Memorial Day due to the release of the 6800... But it could be weeks after that. No one knows fo shizzle yet.

there is no mention of this release date on doom3.com, Activision's US site, or Activision's UK site. The only mention I see of Doom III is in Press Release dated May 11, that confirms the game will be released in summer. This German Forum appears to be the source of this news, not exactly what I would call an official announcement.

I work at a best buy and we too are selling the $10 preorders for the game. Apparently CHQ says it WILL BE in the store for June 15th

Nvidia and Activision did the FX5900 and COD package. Maybe they'll do 6800GT and Doom3 package.

JUNE 15th is NOT the Doom3 release date.

In an interview YESTERDAY, Todd Hollinshead of id Software said he doesn't know if the game will be released before or after QuakeCon - which is in August - so there is NO WAY June 15th will be a release date.

f*ck! Will the 6800 Ultra be the last AGP interface card from Nvidia or will they make like a 6900 Ultra? I want to get the latest and greatest AGP card but dont wanna buy the 6800 Ultra and have the 6900 come out a few months later.

BB has been selling pre-orders, or at least has had D3 pre-order boxes on their shelves, since February or so. Their presence doesn't seem to be an indication if imminent release anymore. I'm thinking mid-to-late summer release, too. iD doesn't have to rush too much, as HL2 apparently won't be released before late summer. The longer they wait, the more bugs they can squash, and the less cost to them in tech support.

Yep, I have had my prerelease box of Doom III since February and it was in my wallet so long most of the information on the receipt has worn off but what is left of it and the box will still get me the $10 off I am certain. I personally dont want it to be released till I have upgraded which could be another 2 months. I want 6800GT and I want 939 chipset from asus. Not going to wait for PCI-E but just expect to have a longer upgrade path with the cpu.

"We've heard two different things from manufacturers. Some manufacturers have told us that NV45 will be available in August, while others have basically said that NV45 won't be out this year, instead we will see NV48 arrive as an AGP refresh to NV40 by Christmas.

What will most likely happen is that NVIDIA will determine the fate of NV45 by the acceptance (or lack thereof) of PCI Express this year. If the acceptance is low enough, NV45 will be pushed out to next year, otherwise we may see it in Q3/Q4.
