<< Why is everyone in such a hurry.

I always wonder this myself. Those people who accelerate super fast, when there is a stop sign one block ahead of them?? Then they break really hard and then accelerate super fast to the next stop sign one block ahead. Do they realize the wear and tear they give on their car? I piss alot of people off because I think driving is supposed to be relaxing, so I don't accelerate very fast. And I brake pretty early if I know for sure that I will have to stop at a stop sign or light. People just need to slow the hell down. Relax its driving lean your head back and take it easy. The only thing that really pisses me off is when there is a huge line to get onto a certain freeway, and they take the right lanes to pass all the cars, and they EXPECT you to let them in at the very last minute. Like if simply turning on your signal allows you to cut in front of everyone that has been waiting. I hate people who do that.
>>

Definantly. I'll admit to have a taste for speed, but that has nothing to do with 95% of my driving habits, in any vehicle. I rode to Tampa with a friend of my girlfriend's over the holidays, and if he hadent been a friend of hers I would have slapped him on principle. He managed to do every single stinking dangerious, iresponsable, ill thoughtout, uncourtious thing I've ever seen a driver do, all in a (long) evening. I was disgusted, throughly.

There's an excellent reason that I do NOT ever carry a loaded pistol in my vehicle where I could get my hands on it, I dont trust my temper that far I dont think.

I hate people who drive across a double yellow line to get a to a turn lane 'cause they are too important to wait thier turn. (almost got hit becasue of that) Always makes me smile when i see people get pulled over for that.

<< cant accelerate very fast, I mean it takes ages to get up to 70mph, and you would never know how many on ramps on the interstate are uphill either. People behind me get pissed cause I'm not going fast enough, people no longer know how to get out of the lane I'me trying to enter, people cut infront of me once they swoop around me running 85mph. It's usually just amusing, they get even more upset when they look at me and notice the chuckeling going on, but that isnt always the case, my patience has limits also.

Why are people in such a hurry
>>

I hate people who do not get up to hightway speed on the on ramp. The reason that that ramp is lonmg is to allow yopu to get your vehilce up to speed with the rest of the traffic on the hightway, I dont car if the speed limit is 55 if traffic on the interstae is going 70 that you need to get up to an appropriate speed to merge into traffic, For me this often requires putting my foot to the floor. So it goes.

I cannot stand getting behind someone who barely gets up to speed and forces me to merge into traffic going 15-20 miles and hour slower that the rest of traffic.

I also hate people who do not anticipate what other drivers, especially big work trucks and 18 wheelers are trying to do. They dont pay attention to the fact that it may be a bit harder for these people to merge, so if you see there blinker on give them a chance to merge by getting out of the way. This goes for all cars as a matter of fact. if I am trying to merge and you are in the lane passing the exit either spped up , slow down, or get over to allow me to merge without getting killed, especially if I am behind some ass who wont let me get up to speed. In that case my only choce is to slow down even more to avaoid uyou hitting me and I end up trying to merge at 40 mph.

I have installed air horns on my tucks and will honk at anyone I think is driving badly or incosideratly,

Btw if you cannot make your exit, than pas it up and turn around instead of executing a high speed for lane dive to get there.....also I hate people who slow down in anticipation of getting into the turn lane, no no no. If you can you enter the lane and slow down. This will also get you a very loud blast from my airhorns,

Thanks

I would rant more, but my fingers hurt.
I will say this, you dont want to

That's the thing. I do have it flored, and people get pissed, they dont notice the smoke, or the little tag that says "diesel". Hell even I ocasionally run up on someone I have to slow down for, but not usually.

I also drive semi-fast, or determindly as I like to say. I hate people who drive lake lackidazically (sp) its hard to anticipate their actions and they are dangerous as they tend to suddenly snap out of their comma and drive irradically....I hate them also

When my lights and sirens are on PULL TO THE RIGHT!!! I am pretty sure that is in the little driving manual but you would be amazed at the things people do. They pull to the left, they stop where they are, they try to race you to the next intersection, they put their hands up in the air, they follow you,...

The list is endless.

<< SUVs 'nuff said >>

SUV Driver != Bad Driver

<< Drivers reading/using cellphone (w/o handsfree set) while driving >>

Hands free sets have been proven not to help. It's the conversation that draws you away from the road, not holding the phone.

In conclusion.... You = Moron++

<sigh>

Never said SUV driver = bad driver. One of my pet peeves is the fact that SUVs are WAY too prevalent on the roads. They are Stupid Useless Vehicles and serve almost no purpose other than to guzzle gas, block the view for drivers behind and parked next to them, and provide a false sense of security to its driver.

And, re:cell phones, so, anyone talking in a car should be banned from talking? That's essentially what you're getting at and is completely ludicrous. Holding a cell phone takes one hand off the wheel or controls. Drivers can't signal or make evasive maneuvers properly with one hand wrapped around a damn phone.

And, calling me a moron? WTF are you?

SUV = Required. I need my suv, I am a scuba instructor and carry both my equipment and student equip with me. I need the room and so sorry for you if I have to drive a large vehicle.

My opinion as a medic since '95, drive the biggest, strongest thing you can. I have peeled too many people out of little cars that have had devastating injuries. Mercedes cars are about the best I have seen for safety in high speed collisions, but they are really expensive.

People that pass on the right even though the left lanes are clear. And they aren't turning off either.
This is on a 3 or 4 lane highway.

Large vehicles that tailgate for long periods of time. Especially soccer mom's in the Excursions.

Not necessarily a pet peeve, but this is pretty funny. I like seeing people in SUVs who believe their car
is held on the road by some magical force. I saw a guy in a jeep grand cherokee do 5 complete 360s on
the highway once because he was going 75mph in a downpour. He was lucky he just scraped the side
of a bridge as he came to a stop.
Also, enjoy watching all the SUVs in the ditches on the first snow of the year. I drive right by in my tiny
front wheel drive dodge shadow.

My complaint about SUVs was not directed at you but the other poster replying to something I'd written earlier in the thread.

Sure, SUVs are useful to a small percentage of drivers but most are filled with middle- to upper-class professionals who'll never set tire off-road, much less put something in the interior that might get it dirty.

Sorry about that, but I hate getting stereotyped with the people you hate. I hate them too. There is a type of car for everybody and every condition, they are all different.

I love mine, but you are right about there being way too many out there.

Here's my major driving peeve. What I find even worse than people who don't use their blinkers are people who put on their blinkers after they' made a turn. What is the point? It' like they're showing off that they can't drive. They're flaunting it in our faces. Or maybe they just forgot. Either way it really annoys me.

People who have no idea that flashing your lights means you want to pass them. (That's why the manual calls it a "flash to pass" feature, duh.)
People who go 35 on an on-ramp then try to merge at that speed.
People who show no respect for Semis. After spending several hundred hours on turnpikes in the last year and a half I have to say that the best and most courteous category of drivers is Semi drivers. Bar none.
People who go 85 down the straight sections of highway, but slow to 55 as soon as there's anything resembling curve.
People who cannot maintain speed even on the straights. (I HATE coming up on one of these drivers when I'm on cruise control and passing them 3-4 times because they keep speeding up and slowing down.)
People who have no idea what a turn signal is.
People who pass on the right (ie. truck lane) when the left lane is open.
People with cars that belch more blue smoke than is used in a David Copperfield special.
People who drive with both feet (ie. one foot always on brake) because you can never tell if their brakes are really on.
Tailgaters I can live with, just show them a bit of break light and they almost always freak out and back off.
