It's only 802.11b, but it gets the job done (for now).Originally posted by: CruisinGT
MonkeyDriveExpress,
Do you remember the brand of your wireless router? is it an 11g??
Yes it should, haven't tested it but the available resolutions go up to 2048x1536.Originally posted by: spdfreak
Will the video output to an external monitor at 1600x1200? I have a Dell 20.1 LCD and it really only looks good at 16x12. I noticed when I was looking at the display model at BB that it showed display modes much higher than the 1280x800 so I was wondering if anyone has tested this?

could someone please post a download link for ATITools?
I have tried google and altavista and CANNOT find this utility for the life of me!
You can set the external monitor to be the primary display, then disable the laptop screen.Originally posted by: spdfreak
I stopped at BB and tried it (16x12) on one of their 21in monitors, and it worked fine except the laptop screen stayed on. I think there is probably a way to turn it off when an external monitor is used, but I didn't have much time to play with it. I know my Latitude C840 automatically shuts off the laptop screen when an external monitor is hooked up, so there is probably a way to do it.

Well i just did a test. Downloaded Photoshop on my M6805 and was only getting 150 KB/S, Laptop only 20 feet away from wireless Router. Downloaded same file with my desktop to same Router, RJ45 hookup and getting 600 KB/S. Seems kinda slow on the wireless end of things...... Anyone have any input

Would it be a good idea to make my own CD restore set like they did?
Overclocking is a risky proposition, I had the CPU in mine at 2.0 GHz, but backed it off because I don't feel like reinstalling Windows. BTW, ATI Tools is an awesome program, set it and forget it overclocking!Originally posted by: MatthewF01
Just benched 11,223 in 3DMark01
Finally got around to GPU overclocking, and my CPU was only overclocked to 1950mhz.
I had that issue again with clocking the CPU too high, but somehow windows magically managed to recover and booted back up fine. I am VERRRY grateful for that!

Hey Matthew, Great 3dMark score!! Have you ran any longevity tests with it yet??
Those people that are using 11g wireless modes, have you all tried setting security to WPA mode?? For some reason, only WEP is an option for me even after the WPA Microsoft update. Does our wireless adapters even support WPA yet?? Or are they still working on a driver for that?
I know other Broadcom-based manufacturers, such as Belkin, Buffalo and Linksys, have already supplied new drivers to support the more efficient security option. Just wanted to know how all of you are faring? This might also apply to M5312 owners as well....I think you have the same wireless adapters.

thanks as far as longevity testing... I finished OCing at like 1:30am this morning... and I'm pretty busy being a lazy high school senior, but I'll have to get around to that. Im also not sure how to go about doing so... I was thinking just playing UT2K4 demo for a long time?

Hmmm....that's one way of doing it. You can also leave 3dMarks2001SE run in consecutive loops overnight and when you get up the next morning, if the system hasn't frozen up or restarted then it can be regarded as extremely stable. You can also use Prime95 to run for a few hours (this program will definitely test any heat issues you may have) and if the system is stable, you should not see any errors returned at the end of the test. Many people swear by Prime95 but I've had instances where Prime95 ran fine for hours and 3dMarks2001SE crashed during my overnight test. In the end, it's whatever you feel most content with.
