Nope, the A64s are top-locked, you can only get lower multipliers.Originally posted by: Darkenreaper57
Is there a way to change the multiplier on this baby with software (above 9)? It seems my memory and/or bus speeds dont like to be overclocked too much...

Two issues with my m6805:
When i close the system when on batteries, the screen turns off (which is good), but doesnt turn back on when i open it up. I am forced to go into hibernation or standby then back out (this resolves the issue).
When on battery power my vid card clocks go way down (below default 300 and 200 mhz (core and memory, respectively). I have been using an overclocked profile with ati tools. When this overclocked profile is loaded while on battery, my system hangs completely and the screen screws up (displaying multicolored vertical lines). As said before, this does not happen when on AC power. Could this be due to card graphics voltage settings? I can use clockgen to set cpu while on battery just fine.
Can anyone offer a solution? Thanks.

Yours may just not want to go any higher, sorry to say it. Just because I've got mine running at 2.0GHz 24\7 and it's fine doesn't mean yours will OC one MHz, or won't go to 2.2GHz, it's the luck of the draw.Originally posted by: Darkenreaper57
does anyone have tips on overclocking with clockgen (ive only overclocked via BIOS before).
Maybe im just unlucky...but here is what i do (note that ive done this with AC power, and also with and without overclocking my 9600)
I open clockgen, and set the cpu voltage from 1.4 to 1.45
Multiplier is at 9 (since it is the max)
I set the Hypertransport packet rate higher...so i get to say 1900 mhz.
Then the problems begin: it seems my system cannot tolerate this speed increase in either the memory or pci/agp bus. My system either hangs completely or the screen goes to 16 bit color.
Is there any way to fiddle with the memory voltage or agp voltage? Any other tips? Thanks.
According to the eMachines Tech Support it will handle 2G of RAM. One slot on the outside one inside. 1G ram is pretty expensive though. I am planning on installing 512M x 2 for now. Only trouble is, once you break open the case to add ram to the internal slot you void your warranty.Originally posted by: teknik0s
Ive been looking @ the eMachines M6807 laptop. I really want a laptop, for gaming and such. I know the videocard on this isnt the greatest compared to desktop cards, but compared to other laptops, it seems to be pretty nice. So is this laptop the SHI* or what? Is it gonna run some games pretty good? I was considering getting the voodoo, but the prices are sooo steep. Id' be paying on that thing forever, i think id rather have a new vehicle . The eMachines M6807 seems alot more bang for my buck though, what do you guys think? How does it compare to other laptops, and how far will it go in the gaming scene. Also, i think id buy another stick of ram, will it take 1gb ? i havent looked into it. And wuts the best hard drive replacement for this beast? IBM travelstart 7200 ?
