Too late... how do i revert?

I just got a rev 2.1 too from Newegg after returning a rev 1.1.

I'm still waiting on my Buffalo memory I ordered on Saturday (August 16th). When I get it, I'll boot up and see how things go.

Anyone know what improvements or differences there are in the Rev:2.1 board are?

If you want to reinstall the Windows IDE drivers, just go the your device manager and fall back to the last drivers.

Well, apparently I need to try the VDD mod on my FIC AU11- I am running right now at 185*12, so my CPU and memory have plenty of room- it's my mobo that's holding me back.

well i am the third or fourth person to mention it but I just had a version 2.1 show up as well for my mothers computer. I may have to swap out my 1.1 into hers..lol

I am a little disappointed though as I thought that there would be a VDD adjustment on this board and there isn't. Oh well i will let everyone know how it goes with the new version...

I believe the only difference between the 2.0 and the 2.1 is that the brand of capacitors used to the left of the socket changed. Teapco on 2.0 and Sanyo on 2.1..... 1.1's used the Sanyo caps also.

btw - I own a 2.0 and vdd adjustment via bios works great. Odd that your 2.1 didn't have the option...

Not true....my 2.1 has Teapco caps. BTW, what's the difference between Teapco & Sanyo caps?

actually I have to make a correction, the bios does have the vdd adjustment. I am still running my 1.1 in my systewm but I just may have to snag this one. Can anyone tell me what kind of FSB they are getting?

Do you have a mix of Teapco and Sanyo's on your 2.1? My 2.0 is 100% Teapco.

Has anyone successfully done the VDD mod?

I'm going to contact FIC and see if they'll give me a mobo that supports 200 FSB, as they were advertising the FU11 that way.

My 2.1 is 100% Teapco also. Is that good or bad?

Don't know for sure, but people have complained on other forums about the Teapco's. I've noticed that the Vcore is under-volted about -.040, but thats it. Rails are stable on my 431w Enermax.

If I remember correctly, manually setting the AGP bus to 66Mhz in the BIOS will lock the speed of the AGP bus at 66Mhz and the PCI bus at 33Mhz...

Yes, I think the PCI bus is locked at 33MHz, but you can change the AGP bus to something other than 66MHz if you'd like.

Anyone tried the latest BIOS? It's downloadable by MagicBIOS, a BIOS update tool for windows from Epox.

I got one extra MHz of FSB with the new bios. But it could be my new SPI400W or 9700 as well, not sure.

There also added memory precharge setting but it doesn't yield better performance nor overclockability, I just tried.

I finally got around to putting my first rda+ together this weekend. I'm wondering why I have an FF code displayed when I think nothing is wrong. I have windows xp loaded, played around, ran burn-ins, overclocked easily to 180 with default multiplier-didn't try higher, everything works just fine but the FF is always displayed. I haven't done much with the sound since Im only using cheap 2 channel for setup tho. I got this board from newegg two weeks ago but I'm at work and dont know revision number. I have not updated bios.
Someone suggested not using fan headers on the mobo, but I actually started out not using them and had the FF any way and I now put the CPU and Northbridge fan onto the fan headers.

Does anyone know what I should do or should I be concerned? thnx

Yup, I am currently running my FSB @ 213 or so with NO problems on the newest bios from magik bios.

That's normal, I believe. My system has been working (mostly) fine for at least 8 months, and it always displays FF once the BIOS POST is finished.

FF after boot has completed and windows loaded means everything is fine.
FF and no boot = no good!

I too have a nice overclock going now on my 8RDA+. I have a Barton 2500+ that is running at 12.5 x 175MHz for 2.19GHz. Everything detects this chip as a Barton 3200+ but due to the lower FSB it is not as fast as a real 3200+. But it kills the 3000+.

Why not see if u can do 11 or 11.5 x 200?

I am thinking about getting an 8RDA+ but I am curious why Shuttle has the 8RDA3+ with the Ultra 400 chipset, if they are now shipping the 8RDA+ with the Ultra 400 chipset as well.

If I order an 8RDA+ from NewEgg is there any way to be sure they will send the Ultra 400 chipset version?

I did try while I had an 8RDA+ but my system was very unstable at anything over 197MHz. I now have an NF7-S Rev. 2.0 and 11 x 200MHz is what I am running at. I wish I'd been able to do this all along. But hey, better late than never.
